I recommend Realtor Justin Hertz and his family because he runs his real estate business the way my Mom did After Dad came home from Vietnam after his two years in the Army, he moved to San Francisco in 1964. Big change for a boy from Marietta, Ohio but Vietnam quickly made him Liberal he often said. Over the years several of Dad's Aunts, Uncles and Cousins joined Dad in San Francisco. There Dad never drank alcohol, started a vegetable, flower and marijuana garden, let his hair grow just over his ears and collar, became a Loan Officer in the Financial District, got a Philosophy degree from San Francisco State on his GI Bill, actively protested against the Vietnam War, learned to play bass guitar and sing backup, met Mom who was a fourth-generation born and raised in San Francisco Realtor from a really large Catholic family of Democrats where the women were Escrow Officers or Escrow Assistants or Title Officers or Title Customer Service or Realtors or a real estate office secretary or Interns in a real estate office or a title company or an appraisal office or a home inspection office. The men worked as cubicle serfs at some Financial District corporation with many of them playing or working in some sort of rock-and-roll band on the weekends. Mom gave everyone gracious, dependable, witty, and professional customer service wherever she was at or in whatever she was doing whether it was the grocery store, the library, PTA, the veterinarian, the doctor the dentist, the flea market, school games, city council meetings, all got the latest in real estate news from my Mom for she was always taking a real estate class at the Marin County Board of Realtors or College of Marin. Mom lived for three things and that was her family, her community and real estate for Mom firmly believed in The strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack. Mom was fond of saying she had picked Reno because of UNR's name of Wolf Pack. My sister and I spent many a weekend doing our homework at Mom's Open Houses while she sat them. Sometimes the neighbor's children would join us to do their homework when Mom offered to help the neighbors out with child-sitting. Mom, my sister and I either walked pulling a wagon or bicycled to and from Mom's Open Houses. Mom hosted and participated in all the Realtor's Caravans in Southern Marin. Mom had two Real Estate Farms she worked, one being our immediate Sausalito neighborhood and the other being Strawberry, an unincorporated district of Marin County that shares a zip code with Mill Valley and is within Mill Valley's school district. Mom more often than not either walked pulling her wagon or bicycled to and from her Real Estate Farms. Vietnam and Agent Orange eventually killed Dad, so Mom then moved us to Reno in 1985, where she bought three houses within walking distance of each other off Mayberry, put us all in one and rented the other two out as she got out of being a Realtor and instead learned how to be a landlord and put her two children through college. We got a better loan with them than our bank was able to offer. She even helped my husband and I move a sectional into our home because she saw we were exhausted and we needed the help even though it was her Sabbath day. I have never met Justin Hertz in person. He was recommended to me by someone that I respect in the Reno area familiar with rental properties. We no longer live in the Reno area and when we decided to sell our two rental properties it was suggested that I should contact Justin. When I first spoke to him via telephone I was impressed that he wanted to visit comparables in the neighborhood rather than just looking at the nearby listings. He came back with a suggested sale price and was able to get multiple offers within three days of our listing the property at above our sale price. That was on the first property, a single family home in a great neighborhood. Our second was an older condo in a less desirable location. Justin and Mindy Hertz were our realtors in our recent purchase of a new build house in the Reno/Sparks Nevada area. We lived on the east coast and they were our local representatives with the builder. They went way our of their way, even when "under the weather" to keep us apprised of the progress in the building of our house. Mindy went up to the property several times to take still pictures and video of the house so we could see the progress. Both Justin and Mindy met with the builder representatives to verify timelines and completion dates.
