In Young Park's own words, "We basically never see money when the defendant is in default." That should have been disclosed to me before I signed the retainer--not three years later. I retained this firm in June of 2023. My case was in default by March 2024. After two failed attempted to get the packet approved from March to January or 2025, they let the default judgment packet sit idle for 18 months. In June of 2025 defendant's business closed at which time, I requested they request an expedited hearing to get the packet approved. The request was ignored. Instead, they filed continuances without telling me. I was physically sick when I realized the packet they finally submitted after 18 months is substantively identical to the previous packet. Throughout this process, I repeatedly reached out for updates. I often have had to reach out multiple times to get a response and many of the responses I received were confusing, incomplete, or contradicted earlier explanations and the court records. I often felt like I wasn't being given the full picture of what was happening with my case. When I asked for basic case information--billing records, a timeline, an explanation of delays--I was told by Tara Hattendorf my requests were "not reasonable or practicable." When I asked about malpractice insurance, Tara told me I was creating a conflict of interest. I'm sharing my experience because I don't want anyone else to go through the stress, confusion, and emotional toll that I am. I filed a complaint with the State Bar so they can review what happened. She repeatedly interrupted me, rushed the conversation, and came across as dismissive while I was explaining my situation. Her response was "Go ahead, what else" which reinforced the rushed and impatient tone of the call. There is NO transparently!!! What ever tragedy you are going through I pray you find a better law firm than this place that treats you with respect and empathy. I would highly NOT recommend this firm for any type of work what so ever. Not only are so called "fees" not up front they don't keep a record or give you documentation throughout your case. When and if a settlement is presented they mention nothing of it for you can make an educated, informed decision when or if a settlement is right for you. So when you get you're check and you're short $5K-$10K or more depending on you're case and nothing explaining why. Other than the selfish mentality I can do what I want..call the bar. Expect a very hostile lawyer with no empathy and very passive aggressive mentality blaming you because they don't give a clear picture that they would easily give you're money up to the bad guys. Also don't be blindsided by mediation with this firm. When the bad guys call and want to set up mediation you can plan on paying every dime of that according to this firm! They cut the bad guys a break and forget to tell you that as well. Absolutely feels like collusion when you're not the informed party yet money is being taken from you! I also claimed exempt on tax papers. Not only did mark yell at me and get mad because he thought exempt means I don't pay taxes. He didn't hold them to following that either. Federal taxes taken out and no follow up by this office to undo that. As soon as my money was stolen they were gone.
