Let me start by saying that this is NOT a relaxing process, however the staff at The Gleamery do their best....I was rigged up with compression boots, heated/ vibrating goggles, and constant checks by the hygienist. The only reason the process wasn't relaxing is due to the constant swallowing that is necessary throughout the process so as not to allow too much saliva to accumulate in the mouth and mix with the gel ( if I got TOO relaxed, I swallowed the bitter gel taste, which quickly jolted me back to reality). Note that I also opted for a cleaning, which was painless as well. While my results are not " Hollywood White" as I was expecting, they look natural and most importantly I experienced ZERO tooth sensitivity, nothing short of a miracle for me. The Gleamery sent me home with a goody bag that included sensitivity trays which I will save for my at home whitening between professional visits. That loyalty made my most recent visit all the more disappointing. I had a 10:50am appointment. The day before, Felicia texted asking if I could push to 11am. I said I'd try to rearrange my plans. She replied: "let's keep the 10:45." I managed to move things around (because if she was asking, I figured she was in need, and I wanted to help) and arrived at 10:57 -- 7 minutes late by the original booking, not 15. When I walked in, Felicia told me I was 15 minutes late. I explained I'd rearranged my schedule to accommodate her request. She shrugged and said "too bad, I already booked someone afterwards.". It wasn't until I was in the room that I checked the reminder email -- original appointment: 10:50. So by her own scheduler, I was 7 minutes late, not 15. Felicia eventually gave me an extra 5 minutes to make up for the mix-up, and I appreciated that. But the cold, dismissive way she started the appointment stayed with me. That's not how you treat someone who's followed you for 15 years. Part of why I see Felicia specifically -- and not one of those high-volume places with curtain walls and hospital beds for tables (you know the ones) -- is the whole experience. A facial should be calming and restorative, and Felicia's warmth has always been as much a part of that as her technique. When that warmth disappeared at the door, it colored everything that followed. The facial itself was top notch. Felicia is genuinely skilled, stays current on products and techniques, and can deliver a top-notch treatment in her sleep. I hope this was an off day, because the person that greeted me at the door was not the warm person that I've been loyal to for a decade and a half.
