Hotworx is THE ONLY workout that works for me! The infra red saunas help me burn the fat right off!…read moreThe easy and convenient app to schedule your workouts is hands down, AMAZING! Whenever I don't have time to go... I just do a 15 minute HIT workout like hot cycle or hot blast! ! And then when I have more time, I do one of their several options for ISO workouts! I used to get bored easily with a gym...I hated thinking about what I was going to do and how I would look compared to others who have been working out forever! Well, with Hotworx, you usually have your session to yourself in a sauna! It is also relaxing...and I credit it to helping me get off blood pressure pills! I LOVE HOTWORX!!!!!!!!!

I feel like every time I come into this location the owner is always working! I mean this in the…read morebest way because you hardly see owners that are that passionate about the companies that they own and being so personable with customers. The owner truly goes out of her way to make you feel welcomed and before I was even a member she offered me multiple VIP cards to come in and make sure I liked the facility before I actually signed up. The owner went out of her way to call me and check on me and ask me questions to get to know me better as well as see what I did or did not like, and asked if I had any questions. I work in healthcare and I really thought it was even more sweet that the owner was accommodating to my schedule and trying to help me out with being on a budget offering me ways that would work with my budget while still being able to take care of myself and do a little bit of self-care. There are a lot of these locations but I would drive out of my way to come to this one because of how welcoming and personable the owner as well as all the staff that she hires are. I do know she owns a second location in rock Hill and I can only imagine that the team is just as amazing

This is the workout I've been looking for! Though there is some cardio mixed in it really seems to…read morebe about using all of your muscles, legs, arms and core. The instructors are all fabulous and very encouraging. They are very supportive of a new person trying to do the exercises properly. The 45 and 60 minute classes are over before you know it and you feel great mentally and physically afterwards. You can tailor things to your strengths and weaknesses with different sized weights and alternate positions. There are people of all ages and sizes. I can't recommend it enough.

This was really too bad. I went to three classes here, my first barre classes ever. Loved the…read moreworkout, the desk staff, and my first teacher, Cami. The next two teachers didn't work as well for me - clearly knew their stuff, but weren't oriented toward beginners and seemed irritated when I would ask questions. I emailed the owner, Melissa, to give her some feedback on this and ask her advice. When I sent that message - friendly, complimentary of much of my experience while critical of the lack of beginner support - I expected a response in kind. Instead, I got some of what seemed like random boilerplate ("we offer group exercise classes" - yes, I know, I've been to three of them!), some defensiveness ("my teachers have worked here for five years!"), and some PR-speak ("Barre3 is as much about community as the workout itself. Our goal is for our clients to leave feeling stronger and more empowered"), but very few answers. I asked which teachers would be best for beginners and was told "all of our teachers have their own teaching style," which doesn't help. Melissa did say she would show me the moves to help set me up for success. I also asked why they didn't have any plus-size clothing in their boutique area up front, and was told that they carry only a limited selection in the store but they have a sign stating they'll special-order other sizes. She even sent me a picture of the sign, which cracked me up - I believed her. I mentioned in my email reply that having any item in the store in a plus size would have helped me feel more included, and the answer was, "We are absolutely inclusive." That's....not how that works. I had no idea when I sent my initial message that I was going to end up being unwilling to go back to this studio! I'd expected a conversation to happen and for me to go back to certain teachers that were best for beginners, perhaps armed with modifications. But Melissa was so defensive and so unwelcoming that I don't feel comfortable returning. Luckily, there are many more barre studios in St. Louis.

I just finished my very first Pilates class and loved it! I saw an ad advertising a free class on…read moreig and since I've been wanting to try it for a while, I figured why not? When I signed up online, I was initially put on the wait list. I called and spoke to Madeline the day before and she went ahead and confirmed I would be in the class. She told me to arrive 15 mins early, and to bring a water and grippy socks. If I didn't have any, they had some for purchase inside the club. (Side note, you can get a 3pk from Marshall's for 9.99!) When I arrived, Madeline greeted me, had me sign the waiver and off I went. Upon first glance in the studio, it looked a wee bit intimidating since there was all this equipment and I knew none of what it was for. Amy, who was a sub instructor, led our class and was very thorough with all her instructions and demonstrations. Prior to the start of class, she went through and asked each person on any previous/current injuries and how to best make adjustments. The class was challenging at times but fun. Once we finished, Madeline explained the different tier memberships, as well as the different classes offered and where the other locations were. I highly recommend the intro class to anyone looking to get a feel of what Pilates is. I can't wait to come back.
