I needed to get a print framed and tried this shop first - big mistake. First of all, it's appointment only so you have to phone or email the shop to make an appointment. There were no times available the next day (when I was on leave from work) and I received no response when I asked if it was possible to squeeze me in at any time on this day. In the event, I happened to be walking past the shop the next day with the print in my bag. I saw a couple of staff working in the shop and someone eventually came to the door to speak to me. The man confirmed that he was not able to look at the print then and there and give me a quote because it was appointment only. When I asked why this was, he told me that it was because of lockdown. When I pointed out to him that the government had lifted lockdown restrictions a few months ago, he looked at me blankly. I explained that I needed to get the print framed in time for Christmas (6 1/2 weeks away) and he immediately said that he would not be able to guarantee that it would be done in this time. He reiterated that I could not be given a quote that day and would have to come back once I had made an appointment. I said that the situation suggested to me that the shop did not need any new business and that it expected customers to fit in with an inflexible appointment system. He did not disagree with me. The good news is that after I left the shop, I went to "Frames", a shop in King Street, Twickenham. What a different shopping experience I had there! The guy there was very friendly and knowledgeable. I received a very reasonable quote for framing the print and it will be ready to be picked up in just over a week. My strong advice would be to give Just Good Frames a wide berth and at least try Frames. I do not think you will be disappointed and I suspect that it will save you quite a few pounds! read more
