I visited Kew Frame with the intention of having two oil paintings reframed. My impression on looking through the window was a positive one. However on ringing the bell, the lady came to the door and kept me out on the street among the rain and the heavy traffic. She was abrupt, unhelpful and plain rude. On asking her multiple questions she was dismissive and had little time for me. I never did get to sample the skills of this shop so couldn't possibly comment. On a customer service point of view I would give it 0 out 10! of course I will be taking my business elsewhere. In a time where small businesses are going bust on a daily basis I find such an approach incomprehensible. Good Luck, you may just need it! read more

Since this boutique opened in 2005 I have brought Florence trophies from my adventures and items to be presented as gifts. She has always listened patiently to my ideas then tactfully improved them. The effect is that the walls of my home are rich with intriguing artefacts. Those whom I love also have gifts that they treasure. Florence is an artisan - I demand the highest quality but I also recognise that this doesn't come cheap and should never be rushed. I had a less than successful experience with a framers in South London and approached Kew Framers with a little trepidation, but Florence has been fantastic since my first visit. I've leaned heavily on her taste and judgement, often being amazed at how her suggestions have turned out to be perfect for each item. The amount of nice comments my newly decorated apartment receive is down in no small part to the framed posters on the walls. The Savile Row of framers. Yes, Kew Frame is not cheap but if it is worth hanging on your wall it is worth the outlay. Nor will your picture be ready the next day. If that is what you need buy a frame from WH Smith or Boots. What you do get is a professional conversation as long as is necessary to come to a decision. A marvellous eye for colour and dimension. A seemingly limitless memory for frames and mounts. Real creative craftsmanship. In a word: bespoke. I now do not go anywhere else. read more
