When we got offshore and got to our destination. We saw so many animals and coral reefs. I saw a bull shark and a sea turtle and plenty of colorful fish that swim near the surface. The currents shouldn't be too intense if it's not a windy day. And if it is then maybe skip the day and go a day where it ain't windy. Overall I recommend this for the experience I mean it was beautiful seeing sharks and sea turtles and reefs. I really enjoyed myself!

Everyone was on top of each other so take that into consideration. Aside from that it was a very clean place. My wife signed us up for snorkeling trip. They take you about 5 miles out in the ocean to a reef. You can rent all of the equipment on site or bring your own. The Captain and First Mate were top rate and very helpful. We were able to spend a little over an hour snorkeling which everyone agreed was plenty of time. We saw lots of fish and a nurse shark. Don't be a tightwad! Tip the crew before you leave the boat!

Over two consecutive days, we completed four dives at French Reef, City of Washington, Hannah M Bell, and the Benwood Wreck. The dive masters did a great job leading the dives and making the experience both fun and relaxed. They also captured outstanding photos and videos during the trips and shared everything afterward via Flickr, with more than 300 photos and 60 videos from the two days. We had an amazing time and will absolutely dive with them again the next time we return to the Keys.

I have been on other snorkel tours before, and Sundiver with this crew is the best. They attended well to passengers (approximately 30 of us) and took the time to explain the hows and whys to my son. The conditions were optimal, the underwater snorkeling adventure was breathtaking (my son is now all about snorkeling and because the experience was so amazing, we are going to try diving next). When we asked Captain Joe some questions at the end of the tour, he spent quality time explaining to my son how it is living and working in Key Largo and also about the available diving internships in the area. The ocean water was a very clear, pristine blue. We are very glad we chose the Christ of the Abyss tour - it was amazing - see pictures below. On a boat charter personally arranged by a lovely girl called Claire we had an incredible day at sea. We parked on a sand bar as deep as my knees. Aquablue Adventures brought the boat to Islamorada sandbar, the music and most importantly unlimited shots of Fireballs just in case u need a little warm up. The vibe is ... put a bathing suit, get in the water and relax as you will have arrived in Paradise. Oh and if you forget to pack a lunch bag not to worry - there is a floating food truck parked right there with burgers and hot dogs. The boat was spacious and clean which I appreciated. Customer service was timely and professional.

One of the participants on our boat did exactly that and she enjoyed herself on both trips. The boat went to different locations on each day, so repeat snorkeler was able to see different parts of the reef. Paradise Island Charters is a small boat that holds only 15 people, and we had 11 on our trip. The sales rep at the dock said the limited capacity allows for a more personal trip with more attention from the crew. This was very much the case as we had a couple of newbies with us and First Mate Al was able to provide them with a lot of assistance (& patience!) Al was very knowledgeable about the fish, the reef, and the overall snorkeling process. She was personable and seemed to enjoy her job very much. She even gave us a few good suggestions for places to dine in Key Largo. Captain Doug was friendly, knowledgeable, and very safety-conscious. He was also an amazing captain. He spotted a family of dolphins and skillfully turned his boat in large circles at just the right speed so that the dolphins could safely frolic in the boat's wake. What an amazing sight! We watched the dolphins jumping for several minutes until they swam off. Thank you Captain Doug for that awesome show! Unfortunately the snorkeling was exciting but not for the best of reasons: numerous jellyfish were floating in the area and we spent a lot of time trying to avoid them. Although the coral and the fish were great to see, the abundance of jellyfish was a big distraction. And some of the snorkelers were stung. If you are comparing snorkeling tour operators, please be aware that Paradise Island Charters does not include the snorkeling equipment in the base price of their tours. They do offer prescription snorkel masks for people who wear glasses. Overall, the trip was really fun and I would recommend this company to other snorkelers. Doug and Al are a key part of their success.

We booked the morning and afternoon dive (total of 4 dives/sites) and we enjoyed the experience. The boat and dive guides were very friendly. We checked in then we got our rental gears. Before we left the dock, the dive guides were able to help us set up our gear (we are beginner divers and, sometimes, you just need to double check if your gear is correctly set up). We went to the Eagle Raw Alley, JJ's Cave, Minnow's Cave, and Christ of the Abyss. We saw a lot of creatures like lobster, hammer head shark, nurse shark, different fishes, stingray, crab, Christ of the Abyss, parrot fish, and tube sponge. Highly recommend this location for your next dive!

The staff, behind the counter, was extermely unhelpful and we both got the feeling they just wanted us to leave the shop so they don't have to deal with another tourist. We are both experienced divers, just asking to book a dive, but ultimately we decided we would rather give our money to another dive shop in the area that made us feel welcome. I strongly suggest looking for a different dive shop.

The one thing that wasn't my favorite was that they don't have a DM in the water and since I didn't go with a buddy, I was forced to pay $40 for a guide - even though they were super easy dives and I would have been absolutely fine on my own. 25 feet max, very very easy, and the guide kept redirecting me to what he wanted to look at. Every time I would swim off he would come get me and "redirect" me. It was kind of annoying. I just wanted to swim around and he kept pointing at things that I had no idea what he was trying to show me. It was weird. He was very nice though. The boat was reasonably comfortable but no snacks are offered. No help to get gear on or off boat. I'm spoiled by my usual boats though. But we did see a pod of dolphins on the ride back so that was cool.

If hindsight were a thing, I'd probably want to redo my 1st experience of Molasses Reef as a…read moresnorkeling trip.  Unfortunately, I actually went there initiallly via a glass-bottom boat tour, and as a result we saw virtually no fish :-( Maybe it wasn't the boat but the time of day we went - regardless, I expected to see tons of different fish, but I actually saw less than a hundred of maybe three different species... It also might have been the fact that the boat's engines were so loud that they scared off a majority of the fish we might have seen.  Whatever the actual cause, I suggest that you skip the boat tour and come here to snorkel instead.

Seeing all the fish at the…read moreJohn Pennekamp Park coral reef was amazing; many different species of colorful fish, and frequent barracuda sightings. Some people also saw a sea turtle and sting ray. We snorkeled at two sites, one with a submerged Jesus statue. Although we were only in 10-20 feet of water, the water was so clear that we could've seen the bottom clearly if it had been much deeper. They provide inflatable life vests that you can put just enough air into to give yourself a little extra buoyancy. They also provide swim fins, masks and snorkels. The ride out and back to dock was pleasant on their large pontoon boat. The boat captain and "Scuba Steve" really made the trip fun. They kept it lite and fun the whole time, cracking dad jokes and goofing on each other. I'd absolutely go snorkeling with Pirates Cove again!
