They are now located across from the Midwest Truckstop and between the Super 8 Motel and Huddle House restaurant. I haven't been able to visit the new location yet, but will update this review as soon as I do. The review below is for their old location. Sandwiches on thickly sliced homemade bread, meats and cheeses right from the deli display case and dill pickles with a lot of crunch. What's not to like? I haven't found anything yet. This is a hidden gem in the city of Cuba, MO. Located along the railroad tracks in the middle of town it doesn't offer quaint views, but the food is amazing. Sometimes you just need a "Sammich" to hit the spot and the ones you can order here hit hard and fast in a very good way. You grab a ticket, fill out what bread/toppings/sides you want; hand the ticket to the lady behind the counter and, while you wait for your sandwich to be made, go off and pick a drink. There's fresh lemonade, a large variety of juices, coffee and tea. You can dine in or take it to go and you can also pick up sweet or savory snacks while you are there. The last time I ordered I had turkey (piled high), swiss, tomato on white bread as well as a bag of chips, a pickle and a coffee for less than $8.00. The bread was fresh, the turkey and cheese delicious and even the coffee was good. Try that at that other sandwich place.....well, I won't go there. Opening hours are 7 - 5:30 Tuesday through Friday, 7 - 3:00 on Saturdays and they are closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Stopped in here following lunch, to find a bright spot in the food scene - I succeeded! A great little place, with fantastic ice cream, and nostalgia tucked in the corner candy section. I wanted one of everything on the menu, it was hard to make my decision. Opted for a Sunday (I was actually there on a Subday and found it fitting). The staff were friendly, the shop very neat with quirky pieces of furniture. Great place to stop on Route 66 for a refreshing treat. Date night, meeting friends, family outing, or to celebrate milestones...ice cream should always be part of the equation.
