Knowing that they were now open, I stopped in today and was amazed at how cute this boutique and custom wood work shop was. The owner is so friendly and will take her time to get to know you. They have clothes (jeans, tops, dresses, etc.), jewelry, candles, chapstick/soap, and of course their custom wood work. The owner not only supports her own small business but also other small businesses/ business people in the area by having their items in her shop. Overall, an excellent experience!…read more Before purchasing our bed, I telephoned Bedder Way with questions, and the customer service was great. My call was answered promptly, the person I spoke with was knowledgeable, patient, and cheerful. There was a delay in the bed's arrival, which left us scrambling a bit because we had broken down and gotten rid of our old bed in anticipation of a timely delivery (no room to get the new one in without the old one out). That said, the delivery folks kept us informed about the progress of our delivery. On the day the bed did arrive, the driver was very kind and careful with the handling and placement of the very large (!) box outside because it was too big to deal with inside our tiny home. It was a challenge opening the box and unpacking the bed parts, which was a decidedly Good Thing. All of the pieces were expertly and very solidly packed using wood and solid/strong styrofoam(?) pieces to prevent any scarring or scratching of any of the components. The directions for putting the bed together and installing it were very detailed and useful -- and my oh my, it is so comfortable - much more so than our former bed even though we used our existing mattress. We sleep on it every night, often closing it during the day to give us more room, plus it keeps the bed nice. I am small and 70 yo and can easily handle taking the bed up and down. There are two slight challenges: one is remembering that the legs at the foot of the bed stick out a bit when the bed is open, so it can be tough on your shins if you aren't mindful; the other is changing the bed -- it's a bit difficult (but, of course, doable) to get the fitted sheet on at the top of the mattress because the enclosure does not leave a lot of room to maneuver; and, caution is needed when one lifts the bottom of the mattress to put on the sheets and tuck in the bedding because the bed frame pops up in an effort to close because there is no weight on it at the moment. The only disappointment was the lights, which are add-on purchases, and not built into the bed itself. The "neck" on one of them isn't sufficiently stiff to hold the lamp in position. That said, it was not enough of an issue to bother Bedder Way about it, and we are managing. :-) [Bedder Way saw our review and sent a new lamp!! Another feather in their cap!] All in all, the Bedder Way Murphy bed was the perfect choice for a senior couple who radically downsized and moved into a tiny 1930 build duplex to be near family and within walking distance to all the necessary amenities (stores, medical offices, public transportation, etc.). We are now considering a Bedder Way side cabinet when we are able to manage it. :-)

Lafayette RAC is equally awesome. I moved to Crawfordsville and most of these people won't lift a finger to help you. There equipment is junk. And when something breaks they come and look at it like you just threw a grenade in it? There is one awesome person there. Her name is Nicole. She will try to do everyone's job and she does it well. Make sure if you absolutely have to go to this place please ask for Nicole. I bought a huge sectional from them. Within a few months I already had to patch the cushions with ducktape. I told them to come and get it and they said they couldn't take it because of the shape it was in. Well it's there fault it was the shape it was in cause it was cheaply constructed to say the least.

Their variety of tray handles inspired me to have one built by them, rather than ordering online from a big company or a foreign woodworker. I was happy to spend money at a local small business, especially one with such a friendly and knowledgeable owner. TDeez also has pre-made wood items for sale, like olive wood spoons, wood coasters, trays, cutting boards, even jewelry. You can also purchase some tin art for your walls, or framed items. I found this shop tucked away in a strip mall on the near south side of Crawfordsville and was delighted. From the moment I stepped in, I noticed the pleasant aroma of candles and the comfortable appeal of country chic decorations and gifts. The main room has the check out counter facing the door in the center of the room, so you can explore to either side: Lots of candle varieties including some made in state, lots of items with clever witticisms to make you think or smile, women's bags, wall hangings, and seasonal (Easter) pieces to add some charm to your home. And when you think you've seen it all, there is another room to the left that has even more items including rugs, lap quilts, and other cloth items. More seasonal items were out in preparation for the weekend sale. The woman who was working apologized for the store being in transition, but it was still neat enough that I wouldn't have known there was anything out of place unless she had told me. She let me browse and asked how I had heard about the shop. I was surprised that nobody had reviewed her store yet on Yelp. When I was ready to make a purchase, she immediately stopped what she was doing so that I didn't have to wait. That's a person who gets customer service.
