I took my laptop to Hal as the CD drive quit working and I could not get on the internet. I discovered that my hard drive was older and a newer one was available. I also asked him to upgrade from 8 to 16 on the memory. I asked how much it would cost and he quoted me $230. I dropped off the computer off on a Thursday. He said he would have it done on Monday or late Tuesday. The following Wednesday I called to see if it was ready. He said they were working on it. I didn't actually get it back until Friday Christmas Eve. He then said it would be $375. I said you quoted me $230 and he started giving me some double talk. Hal did fix my computer, however the timing was late and price went up $140. The store is stacked with laptops everywhere. I asked if all the computers were in for repair and he said only the ones on the top, the rest were trade-ins. I feel he is very disorganized. If I need computer repair in the future, I will search out someone else. read more

I took my computer in on February 15 2021 for a corrupted Windows 10 repair. Got it back four weeks later. I got it home and my Micro Office had not been been set up. The sticker on left of my laptop has gone missing, the number two key is sticking and the lid to on my laptop, on the right side only, is not flush with the bottom when closed. It's been bent, maybe. Deal is, after I asked him for a legible receipt, showing all that was done and the costs, he argued that it was not necessary. So now I have nothing. I asked Hal, about the missing sticker and all he said, was that sort of thing doesn't happen here. I just don't know what to think about him. His place has customers computers stacked up everywhere, so I guess getting a damaged computer here, is a great possibility. read more

They know their stuff. Don't be put off by the shop's appearance. It's just a reflection of how busy they are. You don't stay busy if are not good especially around here. My machine was dead. Don't believe any of the negative reviews. I found out that the negative reviews were about his ex-partner at the old North Myrtle Beach location. Hal's new location is on International Dr next to Lowes Supermarket. Spoke to Hal on the phone and he was very polite and explained his services. When I got to the store I was greeted by his manager and she was very nice and accommodating. Will definitely recommend his services. read more

Horrible. I have a 2009 MacBook Pro. The touch pad started working intermittently, mostly not working. Just Ask Hal was recommended as being an expert in these older computers. Just Ask Hal said it just needed to be blown out and the fans needed to be lubed. Great. I am happy. Got it done in a couple of days. Only charged me $45. Picked it up, brought it home and THE TOUCH PAD IS NOT WORKING. Was one of those words ... touchpad not working ... hard to understand? I went out of my way to take it there. I should have checked their BBB rating first. I will not go there again and do not recommend them. read more

I am not happy with the service at Hals. First it took over a month to get my computer back. Then he loses all my photos and documents and tells me he didn't see any data. The computers working but not great. read more

Had a bad disc with repeated messages to repair, wait 5, 10, 24 hrs. and get the same message. Called Hal and brought my 8 yr. old XPS to see if I could retrieve my data. The store front was filled, 5 old guys like me wondering what the idiocy of our fumbling "far fingers" will cost. Once Hal got to my Dell, he thought: one, he could recover my data; two my main disc might be toast, all those spinning discs had likely errored out; three and best of all, he's probably be able to transfer my data to a solid state died with a new install of Gates Floats 10. Yep! 7 days later Norm The Tech called my Hell Dell was ready. Thanks Hal and Norm. Good folks. read more

Spoke to a gentleman on the phone who had a horrible attitude especially when I couldn't give him the answer he wanted. Was very short with his words, and did not want to listen to anything I tried to tell him. The gentleman also hung up the phone on me. Would not recommend to anyone I know of.
