We were happy to find some extra amenities available for us borrow including a fishing pole and tackle box. And a hot cup of coffee was always available. The owners were attentive and quite friendly but also let us keep to ourselves. Nearby attractions that we enjoyed include historic Nevada and Virginia City, Yellowstone, and fishing and rick hounding in the nearby mountains. We would book again. Great vacation!

Sadly, I didn't experience any paranormal activity, but I slept wonderfully in my cozy bedroom at the end of the hall and down a few steps. This place is quaint and cute! When booking, pay attention to the room type-some of the rooms come with a private bath, others have a shared bathroom. There's a lovely seating area and coffee in the morning so you can mingle and chit chat with the other guests. After all, you probably bumped into them in your bathrobe on the way to the bathroom anyway. Might as well have a cup of coffee together!

The rooms were clean and inviting and had multiple living spaces which was great for a large group! The dining area let in beautiful morning light and was spacious (pictured below) making it easy for us all to dine together. Jody was amazing and made the whole experience special; we wanted for nothing. Would highly recommend this place for whatever your purpose is, a great way to experience a beautiful area.

During our two hour ride with Jody and Keith, our running joke was to say things like, "Views too…read moremajestic: one star," or "Guide likes to make jokes: one star." This was a really fantastic experience that I think may become a tradition with my family. Jody, Keith, and all the horses (even Spike, who was kind of a pill) were a real pleasure to interact with during our visit. The ride itself was a delight. Sure, I was sore afterward, but that's to be expected. Consider going to any of Montana's hot springs to recover afterward. If you're visiting in the summer, I do suggest scheduling a ride in the morning, as it's never too hot at 9AM.

It is a nice and peaceful location, just outside of the quaint town of Ennis.... near the Madison River, and a short drive over to Virginia City, and about an hour to West Yellowstone. I was told about the Jeffers Inn by my sister in law, thank god she told me about it, otherwise I would have been stuck in a seedy old motel. My stay at the Jeffers was absolutely delightful, and the owners, Leigh and Bob are awesome. Leigh makes a killer breakfast, and keeps the house so beautifully as does Bob. And they have an adorable little dog named Bella. I took my toy poodle with me and she and Bella hung out. If you're visiting Ennis for fishing or simply just visiting family, be sure to stay at the Jeffers.

I didn't see the earlier yelp review about the rude owner and I am now kicking myself for not being…read moremore thorough in my research. The owner is beyond rude. I am actually writing this review hours after checking in because I feel it is important that other travelers do not stay here. We are staying in the Mountain Goat rental. The resort touts itself as a luxury resort. It is not. We had the choice between staying here or Lone Mountain Ranch (for the same price). We liked that Diamond J appeared to have less cabins, and therefore, less people. While that is in fact the case, what a mistake we made by staying here. First Issue: Immediately, we noticed the king duvet was stained with white spots (I think most of you will see the attached photo and know what our instant thoughts were about these stains). We text and called the manager, Katie, and her response was, grab a blanket from the closet. Not, I'm sorry, our "resort" strives for cleanliness and this was a one-off-nope- grab one of the scratchy blankets from the closet and use that instead. She wasn't going to even come pick up the dirty duvet because she had already left the property at about 4pm. When I said I wasn't paying $500/night to not have proper bedding, she said she would send the owner down with a duvet. Second Issue: The online photos of Mountain Goat show a gorgeous master with a king bed, fireplace and beautiful views. The ranch knew we were only one couple staying in this two bedroom rental and I had been in communication with Katie, the manager, during the whole booking process. When we arrived and saw that the "master" was not what was pictured on the website but a single dark room without a bathroom or fireplace (see attached video for what both Katie and the owner keep telling us is the master), we asked Katie if she had anything to help us connect the two twin beds that were in the supposed non-master together. (The room with the fireplace, en suite, picture windows and walk in closet is the room that had two twin beds in it when we arrived). She said no, we would have had to request that in advance. When I asked her why common sense didn't dictate that the master bedroom be the bedroom with an en suite and walk in closet, she said how they have it now is "how it always is". I pushed the twin beds together myself because there is no way we are sleeping in the dark box room, even if it means sleeping with a crack between us. I then tried to bring this to the owners attention when she came to drop off the clean duvet... Third issue: The owner, Gia, called before bringing down the new duvet because she wasn't sure what I needed. When I started explaining our duvet was stained and the rooms were wrong, she rudely and abruptly cut me off. She literally stopped me and said, I just want to know if you need a blanket or a duvet or what. I thought, surely this can't be the owner. An owner would want to know about the ongoings and issues of her own "resort". Right? Wrong. When the owner arrived in person, she said nothing about the dirty duvet. The inconvenience I was causing HER oozed off of her. I then told her she cut me off before, and I wanted to know why the king bed was in the back room. She stated that's how it "always is." She then said we knew it was only two of you, so we left the other room as twins. I again pointed out, if you knew it was only two of us, wouldn't common sense tell you to make the room with the bathroom in it the king room? Her response: "No, this is how we like it." When I pointed out that her online photos advertise that glorious front master bedroom WITH A KING BED she tried to tell me the photos do not show that. How am I suppose to have a rational discussion with someone whose going to deny the existence of her own photos? I still cannot believe that was the owner. She might as well have had a DGAF sign on her forehead. Even if you take out the appalling owner, the lack of cleanliness and forget about the bed set up, this is still a 3 star establishment at best. And that's a big IF. Don't be fooled by the "luxury" claims. Apparently you cannot even trust the photos on the ranch's direct website. Perhaps someone else will buy this property in the future and bring it up to its true potential. Until then, I recommend you stay anywhere else.

This place is so adorable and was an absolutely amazing place to stay. It's close to everything in…read morethe area, we didn't drive more than 15 minutes to anything in town. There are so many food options close by that it was hard to make decisions on where to go! We stayed here three nights over a long weekend for a friend's wedding. We were greeted by the home owner, who showed us around and told us about the house history. There is a great musical tower in the living room that you must see if you go. There is a rabbit in the yard who enjoys peanuts! Who knew? Came right up to us and took a few peanuts from our hands. The room was gorgeous and when the window was open you could easily hear the water fountain feature in the yard, which was incredibly relaxing. We hardly ever take naps, but on this stay the bed was so comfy we ended up lounging happily! We had a breakfast one of the mornings, which was so tasty - mushroom omelette with fresh fruit on the side. It was made on site by the owner and a friend of his and you could tell that care was put into making it. Overall: A+ Book in advance (they fill up quick), feed the yard rabbit, enjoy breakfast and venture around the grounds!
