Each component was great. The bagel was tender and fresh. The egg was lightly fried leaving some golden liquid yolk instead of a hammered dry patty. And the server was right, they have really good bacon. Add in a lovely melty slice of white cheddar and a do it yourself squirt of sriracha and you have a powerhouse breakfast. We selected the Strawberry-Rhubarb pie and apple, blueberry, raspberry and lemon turnovers. Pie crust was light and flaky and packed full of fruit. Pie stayed together nicely when sliced and served. Fruit was natural and not overly sweetened. Pie would have been perfect with just a touch of lime zest/juice and maybe a spoonful more of sugar. The turnovers were tasty. The apple ones were pouches with a half apple in each. We've never seen one prepared like that. Prices were very reasonable in this small farmstand store. The woman behind the counter was kind and happy to help us. I was so excited when she handed the pie over and it was still warm!

Let's just call it what it is: Love. We're from Maine, and we chatted with another couple who were traveling from Alabama. They said, "We came here for this. Well, not from Alabama..." "But you could have!" I interjected, and they agreed. Have I mentioned the food yet? I asked for a custom, deconstructed breakfast sandwich, and our chef whipped it up happily and lickety split. I think it's the love, but what looked like a regular English muffin never tasted better to me. How lucky are the regulars here! One came in, a young man, and our host asked about his work, and whether this was one of his long or short days - so caring and kind! What the world needs now is love, sweet love. I was so excited after leaving this slice of Heaven, and we spotted the Chamber of Commerce office across the street. We went in and told them directly to please think of a way to honor these folks. People came out from behind dividers, laughing and rejoicing together about this amazing place, where they themselves go every day! They shared that this wonderful family had recently lost two very close family members. You would not know it from their amazing perseverance. I hope this wonderful family will get back as much love as possible for all they dish out.
