Favorite shop out of many like it. Nobody sets up vignettes like them. A lot of antique shops can feel like weeding through a bunch of clutter, but not here. It's all put together in a way that looks much like how you'd do it at home. We've purchased many of the furnishings for our home here. They made us a custom dining table, bench, and pew. When I got home, the pears I bought smelled like leather. I loved their merchandise but wish there were more of a selection (and brighter lighting in some areas. We visited this place for the first time this weekend and enjoyed seeing all of the vintage furniture and eclectic furnishings. We left with two small items and a table. Our daughter and son-in-law have purchased several pieces of furniture here and some were custom-painted to match their style. They've bought a headboard, night stands, lingerie drawer stand, sofa table, and mirrors - just to name a few. They are open on weekends and Emily, the owner, is friendly and makes you feel welcome. They will custom paint any of the furniture and accessories and they refuse to take your money until you are happy with the job. This place was featured on the HG show Fixer Upper, which has made them even more popular than they were. If you're ever in Waco, check out Junque in the Trunk, but get there early because stuff just flies out of there. read more

Great place to stop in during my visit to Waco and the Silos. Great decor and prices were very reasonable. I wish I lived closer and I would make this a regular stop. This place is a gem. It's pretty much Magnolia Market but actual reclaimed items instead of things made in China. (Not saying I have a problem with that-- we spent a pretty penny at Magnolia Market). But if you're looking for the real deal-- come here. It's also 3/4 of the price at least. I thought the antique shop would have random things that I wouldn't be interested in... like a true goodwill. Instead it was beautiful items to decorate your house in the farmhouse style. They have multiples of everything. You don't have to take the item off the wall. Overall, loved this place. Just a little unhappy with them right now- I bought a piece from them for our new home. I paid extra for them to repaint the seat area black from the dull brown that it was. I drove back down a week later to pick it up. They had it wrapped nicely for me to transport back to Dallas. I honestly didn't think I needed to unwrap it and check it before loading it into my vehicle. That was my mistake-! The piece has never been un-wrapped, until yesterday. We just moved in to our new home. Upon taking the shrink wrap off, we found where they had dripped the black paint down the front of this bench!!!! It's not like you cant see the mistake either. Super disappointed. Not sure how this will be fixed-packing it back up and hauling it back down to Waco isn't really something I want to do. However, this piece is in my entrance hall-so all will see it! I really do like the items in the store, and the staff was so pleasant to deal with. Super disappointed that this has happened. This was not an inexpensive piece either....I'm hoping they will make it right! I will continue to shop there...I'll just be more cautious. read more

Another one of my favorite antique spots in Waco. Items are reasonably priced and they have a really good selection. They also do custom pieces as well. The store is well laid out and easy to shop. They have custom candles like a lot of shops in town but also offer holiday scents. In my experience the staff just hasn't been as warm and welcoming as some of the other stores in town which is why I gave it four stars. read more

I've passed by junque in the trunk many times down la salle. I have always been curious what it was all about, but just finally went in yesterday. So many pieces caught my eye: chalkboards, drawers, vanities, nightstands, picture frames, bed frames, desks, bookshelves, and so many unique vintage items. I picked out a chest of drawers, a nightstand, and a chalkboard. I'm very happy about my purchases and can't wait to go back for more. Turns out junque in the trunk is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (and you can also call for an appointment). Luckily for us, we happened to catch the owner at a good time on Thursday while they were moving new pieces in. Emily, the owner, was so friendly and has a huge passion for the business. She's great and I adore her store! All of her pieces have a one of a kind character that I couldn't find in other places. read more

Driving through Waco I happened upon Junque in the Trunk sitting on the side of the road when I was trying to find my way from Hwy77 to 35. I needed a break from the drive and from sitting so long so I wanted to get out and walk around. Apparently this family has owned an unfinished furniture business for 25 years and just recently expanded to the home decor and antiques business. The store is merchandised brilliantly and the prices are VERY reasonable! Cute painted shabby chic furniture, art, jewelry, old signs, repurposed pieces like old window shutters they added shelves too - super cute. In the middle is the unfinished furniture and then attached to that is another space where it looks like they are renting spaces to other antique/boutique vendors which is turning out to be a really cool shopping space. I don't roam through Waco often, but if you do - make this a stopping point! They are only open on Saturdays and Sundays! read more

I stopped by this past weekend with my mom while spending the day exploring Waco. This shop was recommended to me by several friends who said that Joanna from Fixer Upper shops there. The shop is adorable and my mom and I purchased several items. The selection is good, priced well and they will ship. The owner was extremely nice and welcoming. If you love Jo and Chip Gaines, if you go to Waco to go to Magnolia Market.... you'll want to make this place your first or next stop! Don't miss it! This was mine and my daughters first trip "antiquing" together; a day trip up from Cedar Park TX. We were VERY WOW'ed! Farmhouse Rustic meets Chic Vintage. Even the bathroom was an inspiration. The staff is very sweet, accommodating, helpful, and the place is just outright inspiring. We got lots more inspiration here for the remodel we are finishing out than we did at Magnolia. Sorry Jo and Chip, LOL, but you do get the bonus points for bringing us to the party. : ) I DID NOT rate these folks as $$$. Realistically more like $$. I picked up a very nice refinshed dresser for 249.00. Considering the work that goes into refinishing a dresser, or any piece of furniture, that is a great price. It's a trade off buying something that's already done; saving you the time and effort. I could have found something, looked up a tutorial on youtube.com and done it myself, but I've already got enough going on. There are a few things I will do myself however and these folks didn't get upset with me when my very extroverted self started asking questions. Nice. I found this store to be less expensive than some of the others in the area. I DO think y'all need a much bigger store with more stuff. : ) But, the store is large with lots to look at as it is. We are in awe, by the way, of what y'all have done for your community, all of you (Magnolia too). The economic impact that y'all have had on Waco is tremendous. Lots of things from Creative Co-Op, which is a disappointing experience. I was hoping to find one of a kind treasures, Instead I found the same signs, wreaths and items that Hobby Lobby sells . They have some painted old furniture but nothing to go crazy over. The candles were very overpriced and didn't have the lovely aroma to justify the price. I thought it was bigger on the inside compared to what it looked like on the outside. Upper-scale re-do's of antiques/vintage pieces. Not really many pieces that're good fixer-uppers. Smells awesome, clean walk-ways, restroom is gender-neutral, but pricier than I expected or can afford. Definitely some cute pieces that've already been re-done if you're looking for pieces that look loved-on, but still in GREAT shape. read more
