    This little flea market in Wilmington, Vermont, has been greeting summer tourists and locals for as…read morelong as I can remember. It is open during the warm months on Saturdays and Sundays and the number of vendors varies depending on the weather. People come from as far away as Connecticut and Boston to search for treasures The vendors are an eclectic cast of characters with wares ranging from antiques and junk to produce and baked goods. The days we visited there were about 25 dealers. Haggling is encouraged but these guys are pros. You want to get there early on Saturday to get the best selection of treasures. Sally, who run the market with her family, is friendly and keeps things organized. The restrooms are clean with plenty of hand sanitizer and flowers. There is plenty of parking as well. The coffee at the food trailer is good, we did not try the food.

    I once loved to go to this small market and there are still good vendors with fun and useful items…read moreas well be as homemade products. However, in the last few years the market had become increasing politicized which takes away from the relaxing charm. A week after the last school shootings in TX, the market has several (I counted about four) booths selling gun-related paraphernalia, flags with AR-15 image saying "Trump for Guns", "F... Biden", etc. The market was more fun and charming when it only sold antiques, collectibles, handmade objects, and homemade/grown goods. Why can't the market return to this rather than increasingly represent the division, hate, and violence in the US?
