This review reflects the new hair stylist who took over in 2019 I believe! Definitely recommend. I think this is my favorite haircut in a while! Started off with a really nice shampoo massage and wash which not many salons around here do. She then cut my hair exactly as I asked for and wanted! She was quick (30 mins) but thorough as she styled it after and went back to fix little things. You could tell she really knew what she was doing. COVID safe too. She takes your temperature when you come in and you have to sign an agreement form. The space was peaceful and quiet as she's the only stylist currently and due to COVID spaces out only one person at a time with no other visitors allowed. The space also felt very clean! My cut was $37 before tip which I thought was great especially considering the shampoo/style that came with it. read more

I was told that Juno Hair Salon recently went through a change in ownership in August. Eunice, the hair stylist at Juno, is very friendly and sweet. She offered lots of advice on caring for my hair and styling my new hair cut. The salon is not huge, but it has everything they need. They offer all kinds of hair services as well. The best thing is their rates are a lot more reasonable than some other salons in the area. They say they offer walk-ins, but I'd recommend calling ahead and making a reservation because Eunice is the only stylist there. You might have to wait a bit if she's working on a different client. I like how they have locker storage for customers, which is great when I have a coat and bag. Highly recommend Juno read more

This review reflects the establishment after the change in management which took place in August 2019. I had a haircut here today and I was pleasantly surprised with my experience at Juno hair. The salon accepts walk-ins and is within close proximity to campus. During my visit, there only appeared to be one stylist working, but she greeted me right away and led me to a locker section for me to drop off my belongings. The haircut started promptly with no waiting time, most likely because I came around noon during a weekday. I gave specific instructions for the stylist to follow and the haircut went very well. The stylist even gave me suggestions and asked questions prior to and during the haircut to clarify any potential confusion. All haircuts come standard with shampoo and drying service as well as post styling. The total cost came out to 27 dollars and I was able to pay with Cash or through Venmo; They do not accept credit or debit at this time. This price is standard for Green Street and comparable to most salons in Campustown. Overall, I had a great experience at Juno hair. Although I can't comment on their other services, as far as standard haircuts go, they do an excellent job. read more

Meh. It was alright, but pricey. I did not find the results pertinent to the price they charged...a whopping $30+ for medium length into a bob hairstyle. Granted, I paid about the same for a trim at Chicago's Headquarter, but they did a better job. I brought a Korean speaking friend (as I advise all non-Korean speakers to do), but it still helped to no avail. The guy didn't even shampoo my hair, just sheared it off with some spray. That's it. He spent the rest of the time talking to my friend. I brought a photo for reference, but my messy bob cut looked nothing like Nora Jones' new cut and style. Instead, I had to go home and fix a few stray hair strands he completely missed. Not a happy camper in the least. He looked really bored and didn't even attempt to consult me during my haircut. I've been going to this salon ever since Eunice fixed my bleach-damaged hair about a year ago, through Keratin treatments. However, when Co-vid hit, I was pretty wary of going back, but decided to take a chance since my hair looked so sad.. I was impressed by how careful the salon was about trying to keep everything sanitized and create a safe environment, throughout my appointment. The service was also very good. When I first heard Juno did digital perms for $120, I would have thought it was a) a scam, or b) of such shoddy quality it would fry my hair, or c) possibly both. The reason I *didn't* think that was because a) the information came from my friend, who b) had just gotten her own digital perm there 1.5 months prior, and c) currently possessed a head full of fabulously curly and not-fried hair. So yours truly went there today and indeed, came out $140 (for perm and trim, plus $20 for tip) poorer but armed with a head of fabulously curly not-fried hair courtesy of a very nice guy named Cozy (yes, Cozy). As for the miscellany: the salon is very clean, and the staff are friendly. Keep in mind that this is a pretty big chain from Korea, so the workers there are, as far as I know, all Korean (with possibly one Chinese). They do speak English, but if at all possible bring a Korean-speaking friend with you so there are no surprises. They also told me today they are cash only, so either raid an ATM prior or bring your checkbook. Considering how this usually runs me $300+ back at home (ah California, I have missed your food and weather but not your cost of living), so far I consider this $140 very very VERY well spent. And assuming these curls continue to hold for the next 7.5 months, I may very well find myself holding off on my next perm until I return to the frozen plains of Illinois (for my final 3 months of school!) read more

The place looks nice after renovation and I thought for a place this nice, the service and hairstylist must be pretty good but i was wrong! My hairstylist is a mid age lady who cuts my hair as if she is shaving skin off a potato. I was in and out within 30 minutes and my hair doesn't even look nice at all. They got new hair stylists. The older lady didn't speak English at all and literally did everything opposite of what I wanted her to do. I've never felt this mad before that I have to rant on yelp. I wanted the front of my hair to remain the same length and shorter on top. She did the exact opposite and now I just look like I'm crazy. Also she freaking shaved my widows peak when I specifically told her not to. Who on earth does that? I loved my widows peak. I had a short trip to Champaign with my kids during summer and stopped by the Juno Hair Salon for a haircut. I can't be satisfied more! I heard that the shop had struggles and was closed for a while. The new owner reopened July 2019. The hairdresser was very kind and he explained in details how to take care of my hair, gave me options that I could choose and exactly knew what I expected. Actually, it was beyond my expectation, very stylish and silky even after dying my hair. I strongly recommend this place if you want to try a new hairstyle or would like to be stylish and cute. One thing I need to mention is the payment method. At that time, the shop did not take a credit card because the shop just reopened and the machine was not ready. For guys that want short haircuts, don't go here. I came here for a quick cut, and the girl cutting my hair had no idea what to do. First, she did not use the scissors at all and cut my hair with trimmer. She kept measure if she was cutting my hair evenly with her hands. It was not even and looks like a simple buzzcut you do in your bathroom. All I wanted was a fade with less hair on side and some trim on top with scissors. This is not worth $25+tip. They completely butchered my straight shoulder length hair. I just wanted a trim with slight layering around the face, but I ended up with hair one inch shorter on the left side of my face, and pieces hanging down in back that they forgot to cut. Don't be fool by the previous reviews. I read the five star reviews and I decided to perm my hair here. I brought a goal picture there so I don't have to explain what kind of curl I want. The price is $190 excluding the tip. So after spending $220 in total, I only got my hair fried. The curls were gone after one day!!! I went back to Cozy (who did my hair perm and he was the most recommended stylist on yelp), his answer was "the picture you showed me was from curling iron, it's impossible to do it from hair perm. And the picture you showed me was an old fashion, I didn't like it." So his so called "new fashion" was a head of fried hair? I would give 0 star if I could. read more

My boyfriend has been going here for the past two years and his hair looks great. They charge $20 to cut and wash men's hair, which is decent. If you want to pay less, your only options left are places like Great Clips. Great Clips may be okay for some, I prefer a salon that's more stylish and daring with their haircuts. I've been here a couple of times. I think Ippatsu does women's hair a bit better, but Juno Hair is much cheaper (about $30 compared to $50...I forget exactly what the price is... it's been a while since I cut my hair). read more

Do not go to this shop. I went to this shop few days ago. A mid age lady (late 30s? or early 40s) cut my hair and she all the sudden decided to shave my side, and I basically look like a someone enlisting for an army. The lady who caught my hair didn't seem to have any confidence in what she was doing with my hair either. If I were you reading this, I would not go to this place, unless you are in a real hurry and must get a haircut :( The price was $22 w/o tip, which I don't think is worth at all. read more

I went here today to get my hair straightened for a special occasion. I did not get it cut or styled. My appointment was just to get my hair washed and straightened. Before going in, I made an appointment and asked how much it would be. The receptionist told me that it would depend on my hair length and that the stylist would have to see my hair first. So I made the appointment and today had it done. I was there for a little over an hour. As I go to the register to pay, the owner tells me I owe $150!!!!! I was in complete shock. I could not believe my ears. The hairdresser said to give me a $20 discount, and so it was $130. I was extremely disappointed and upset because that's very overpriced for someone who just got their hair washed and straightened which will only last a day or two. Even more, I am a college student and this is a college campus. I let the owner know and he apologized and what not but I still cannot believe how overpriced they are. If you choose to go through, get the price first and be cautious because I for one don't know if I'll ever go back. read more
