As a teen, I used to wander through the packed aisles, window shopping things I'd like for my imaginary apartment. There were so many beautiful tchotchkes, decorative boxes and trays, pillows, rugs and furnishings to choose from. I recall one store had racks at least 12' tall filled with items. It's was my little slice of heaven. It was a part of my usual rotation: Kirkland's, Pier One, TJMaxx, Bed Bath & Beyond and World Market. Those were the days. Sadly those days are gone. Kirkland, Pier One and BB&B are gone forever (in my market area) & the nearest World Market to my home is a state away. Because of my experience with this store, I was expecting to see more eclectic, must buy pieces. I was looking for that "curated finds" feeling like it usws to be. What I got was "retail". Don't get me wrong, there are some nice big pieces, but the selection is minimal, like leftovers from a 3rd life overstock shipment. IDK. Have they lost their way, or is it the tariffs? I tend to lean towards the former as they have a Halloween section to sell costumes. COSTUMES! NEVA HAVE I EVA ONCE SAID OR HEARD THE STATEMENT ..."HMM, LET'S GO TO WORLD MARKET TO GET THE KIDS' COSTUMES!" I've heard Kmart, Target, Walmart and in the past 10 years Spirit of Halloween...but NEVER World Market! This is what happens when a business loses its direction and forgets its purpose (besides making money). If you are looking for candles and diffusers, or kitchware, this is your store. Part of the store seems to be a normal store, with the other half possible, consignment, or rented spaced, as it's broken up into small booths. They had lots of fun stuff, and a good range of antiques to modern, with pricing that also varied a good bit. Staff was friendly, and greeted us upon entry, letting us know if we had any questions, or needed any help to let them know. Good place to check out if you're looking for some fun, and unique decor.

The basement usually some good deals, and there's always some delicious mid-century items (even if they are usually out of my price range). I do visit other consignment shops but find things here more often than at others'. Last time I went, the second half of the store seems to be some "booths," sort of like the Design Archives on Front Street. I didn't like some of those items as much - not necessarily to my taste - but I still browsed, and I think that makes the store more enjoyable for people with all kinds of asethics. And thank you to the owner for recommending some upholsterers! I'm slowly amassing a house of items that I really like, in no small part thanks to this place.

For those curious which side of friendly - it's on the new side across from Harris Teeter in the little line of shops by Altar'd estate. I was looking for some cute new tops to wear on camera for WFH and walked out with more! While they're mainly stocked with cute clothes with amazing prices, they also have Packed Party accessory brand which I love, jewelry, a little baby clothes section and gift/trinket items to purchase. They even had a nice sale section called the pink dot which has everything marked down to $15!! The associate working was super welcoming and friendly too! I'll def go back especially for their pink dot sale section!!
