However, it is a true time capsule and cultural relic - a thrift store that is a chaotic mess but has extremely low prices and feels like a thrift store of old. (For example, CDs are only $0.50! At the end of the Westport pier, you'll find a claustrophobic cave of treasures, ranging from clothes and apparel, jewelry, souvenirs, shells, stones, toys, magnets, home décor, books, games, puzzles, glassworks, and a lot more, stuffed into every corner, nook and cranny, hanging from the ceiling or dangling from the walls, almost all of it nautical, piratical (is that a word? it should be!) or (Pacific) northwestical in nature. This is the gift shop to end all gift shops; the Tamatebako; the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow...or, at the very least, at the end of the dock. So, take a short walk down a long pier (wait...scratch that, reverse it!) and check out what the basket cases at Basket House have for sale!
