Extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience with Vent Wizard (appointment on October 23,…read more2025). I scheduled a dryer vent service through Vent Wizard, but the technician who arrived tried to upsell me , high-cost projects ($1,100-$1,500). When I declined, he offered to "cut a hole in the wall for the vent hose" for $400 -- then asked me to pay him personally via Venmo or a separate check written to his own name, not the company. He spent several hours at my home, left holes in my walls, and scratched my brand-new hardwood floors by dragging the dryer without any floor protection. When I contacted the franchise owner, he admitted the work "looked horrible" but refused to take responsibility, claiming I had "hired a handyman." That's absolutely false -- the technician arrived in a Vent Wizard van, wore a Vent Wizard shirt, and represented himself as their employee until time for payment! Now I'm left with damaged walls, unsafe vent work, and ruined flooring -- with zero accountability from Vent Wizard. I strongly caution others to avoid this company. The franchise owner is unprofessional and horrible to deal with. These are franchised and Neighborly who owns this company has a "neighborly done right promise" but no email or way to file a complaint. I have calls in to Neighborly (1800 number they wont give a direct number or email). I've filed complaints with BBB and attorney general

I had a guy come out from Dryer Vent Wizzed and it turned out that he was new and didn't explain to…read moreme what was needed. I thought he was talking about PVC venting so I misunderstood what he was telling me I needed to do. He was young and I think I scared him half to death. We're in the process of remodeling our house and after this kid came to the house, my contractor pointed out how much lint was in the aluminum vent material and recommended exactly what that poor kid and Ramon, the owner of Dryer Vent Wizards franchise recommended. I had someone else set up to clean it but when both my contractor and my HVAC guy, neither of which get money or more business, tell me exactly what Ramon recommended, I had Ramon come out. He was so nice and he didn't try to sell me anything. He was going to get as much lint out as possible. Things outside and inside looked pretty nasty. I ended up getting metal pipe and I asked him to do the installation. He pointed out something my contractor had also mentioned. If we went to sell the house, the foil vent hose would be flagged in an inspection. That just happened to a co-worker. My clothes weren't drying and the laundry room was so hot. I know it's a big fire hazard and I have pets. If both my contractor and my HVAC guy tell me I need the pipe, I'll trust both so I had Ramon replace the foil with the metal vent. I was very surprised at how much it cost to change out the foil tubing with a pipe. I was expecting to pay a fortune. Considering how much vent he replaced, it cost a fraction of what I thought it would cost. His work comes with a lifetime warranty that goes with the house. Any future buyers will have that vent covered for life. My clothes are I'm drying in far less time than before the installation and it's no longer so hot when I do laundry. That'll save me both the cost of gas in running the dryer longer and the cost of increased AC. If you're upset or you've had a bad experience, call Ramon because he will try to do everything in his power to make it right. There was so much lint and dirt behind the dryer, he vacuumed up everything he could get and then he actually cleaned the floor with a towel and cleaner. Good luck finding any other worker who will actually clean the floor and wall. He checked that the water hoses were working. He went above and beyond what any other company would do. If you've had any problems or need to have their services, reach out to Ramon at 913-514-2053 or send an email to rveloz@dryerventwizard.com. The office number is 913-815-7330 for scheduling. Keep in mind that these are franchises so if you've had a bad experience elsewhere, it won't be the same here. it's all about who owns the local company. I highly recommend you let him talk to you, especially if you feel like they didn't live up to your expectations. After Ramon did everything to make my experience better, I'd highly recommend this company here. It's unfortunate that people tend to give poor reviews but they won't take the time to write a good review. The local franchise, overall has a 4.8/5 rating so give them a chance. Their follow through is awesome!!

We scheduled a service appointment for our malfunctioning washer after performing preliminary…read moretroubleshooting ourselves and seeking confirmation of the issue. The technician confirmed a diagnosis and identified a part that he stated needed replacement. However, the repair estimate provided was significantly higher than anticipated. After we indicated that we needed to discuss the cost with our father, the price was reduced, though it remained quite expensive. Given the high quote, we chose to purchase the recommended part independently at a lower cost. Unfortunately, after installing the part, we discovered that it did not resolve the problem and was not the underlying issue. As a result, we incurred $120 in diagnostic fees and $150 for an unnecessary part. Due to the time lost and difficulty obtaining the correct part elsewhere, we ultimately had to purchase a new washer. We subsequently contacted the company to request a refund of the diagnostic fee, given that the diagnosis proved to be incorrect. Our request was denied, and we were told that the replaced part could have contributed to the issue or were provided other explanations. This was a lengthy and frustrating experience that resulted in significant unnecessary expense. We encourage others to proceed with caution when considering their services.

I've cooled on Mosquito Joe over the years for two reasons: chemicals and cost…read more First the chemicals. The way our old neighbors driveway sat by ours, it just collected huge pools of rainwater and became a breeding ground for mosquitos, so we had to try them out years back. It worked and admittedly it was moderately effective, at least for a few days after spraying... but I noticed how they said their chemicals are safe for kids & pets, but also were like "DO NOT let your dog out for a few hours after we spray!" How safe is it then? I know it would be dryer later and not as potent but that gave me pause into how safe this spray could really be. Then there's the bees. If I come across as some sort of granola hippie here, then, well you are right (although more of an oatmeal guy than granola). We know bees are important and it would appear this stuff ravages not just a few bees, but colonies of them. My wife grew a native garden, and we had so many bees around -- that pretty much put the kibosh on having Mosquito Joe out at our place. They do offer an all natural solution, but I guess my question is, if that works well (and at $71 bi/weekly, yikes) then why don't solely use that? Why nuke up the ecosystems throughout all the neighborhoods unnecessarily? I really do think the cost, or at least what they quoted us yesterday, is outlandish. I'm outside so much I count the yard in my home's square footage, but I don't think paying $1,000 per season (April-October) to keep mosquitos away is worth it.
