Upper floor housed some offices, main floor had the small grill and large dining hall, and the basement had the original Traddies, Mexican joint and the rotisserie chicken join. Ronald Tutor Campus Center is all that plus more. More offices, more study spaces, more eateries, a way bigger Traddies. All these things packaged in a picturesque design. This place is awesome and definitely worthy of people's tuition. Only thing I dislike are the amount of damn bikes that litter the entrance.

These are recent photographs I took to show the magnificent architecture and brilliant landscaping of the Pasadena institution that, like few others, speaks to the importance and the majesty of the sciences. We don't need to pay for expensive trips to parks anywhere else, if we live in the Los Angeles area. Pasadena itself is the crown of Southern California and CalTech is its diadem. Look at my stylized shots and decide for yourself. Who wouldn't want to spend an afternoon here? My husband and I used to say, "I know if she can just get in, she will find her place there". This is her first year, and I can't say enough good things about this school. Besides having top notch education in mechanical engineering (her major) and research, the campus does an amazing job of keeping families involved, and also making the students feel at home. My daughter was so excited to go back to campus after winter break. She loves living on campus, and knows her professors. She has already hinted she may want to stay over for research opportunities during summer. And what is a plus is that she is just as excited to tell me about their social events. Lastly, I also love that they invited the families on campus the first week of school. We get caught up with monthly emails and video meetings. What an amazing institute all around.

Ignoring the impossibly heavy doors, PAB is a great place given how clean, modern, and quiet it is. There are some seating spaces sprinkled around the building as well as a student lounge and study lounge where many TAs hold office hours. PAB lecture halls are definitely some of the better ones here at UCLA. Although the chairs are often squeaky, the design is spacious and comfortable. There are also outlets in every seat (tbh my favorite part)!!! There is also an outdoor patio upstairs (don't tell anyone I told you) on the 3rd floor with plenty of seating for the most part (it gets busy during lunch time). It's probably one of my favorite outdoor places to study on a nice day.

The parents at this school are very passionate about their school and their kids. After having a child graduate from this school and now attending a middle school, her Spanish is better than the Spanish teacher she now has. Though the model of 90/10 Spanish would be better, for the changing community that is not Spanish speaking, the 50/50 model works. Most of the teachers have been at the school for many years and are excellent at what they do. The parent board called FOM (Friends of Micheltorena) are committed to bringing a diverse voice to the school.

The principal is outstanding; she is always accessible to the parents and public when they have questions, concerns, or just want to discuss new ideas for the school. The teachers are well credentialed and very experienced, as is described on their teacher pages on the school's website, www.micheltorena.org; many of the teachers live local to the school and are active in the community. Next year, the school will implement the first year of its dual language program. The school does not appear "great" when condensed into numbers and statistics on websites that focus on API scores; Micheltorena has roughly 25% of its student population as special needs / speical education students, many of them coming from surrounding school districts like Ivanhoe and Franklin. When the API score, which includes test scores from these special education kids, is compiled, many parents are turned off and assume that the the scores are due to poor academics. However, my children have excelled at the school with teachers that they love, who are willing to individualize their teaching plans to different students' needs. The parents of children in the gifted program also report that their children are challenged and provided with instruction that meets their needs as well. The school has always focused on the arts, and at one time had the biggest elementary school orchestra in Los Angeles. It still has its orchestra which all children in grades 4th through 6th can participate in. Now the school is partnering with local arts organizations Silver Lake Conservatory of Music and Bluepalm, both who have supplemented the existing art curriculum with increased instruction and classes. And with the school garden that is co-managed by Silver Lake Neighborhood Council members and is open to the community, the school has truly become a community center. It is a wonderful experience to be a parent at this school. Come join us!

Year 2000: Ever since I became a registered nurse/ Nurse Practitioner I have always wanted to work…read morein field of aesthetic/ Cosmetics. I was told by a few companies, in order to work in aesthetic as a nurse I would need previous training and at least 2 yrs of experience. So I searched on the internet for several years only to find that California had no aesthetic programs. The available aesthetic program was so far away. So jumping on a plane, paying for hotel expenses, rental car expenses and $14.989.00 for tuition was not feasible for me at that time. So pretty much I was discouraged and ended my search. My passion and desire for aesthetic still had the highlight of my thoughts, meaning my search ended but my passion remained alive! I admired every nurse who had a career in the aesthetics specialty. Sixteen Years Later 2016: I am really fortunate to have a very secure career as a nurse practitioner, however my passion for aesthetic/Cosmetics/ beautification is still at my highest desire and because of this burning desire I decided to begin my search to work in the field of aesthetic. Year 2017: Finally I found a company who provides aesthetic training in Los Angeles County!!!!!! I was so elated!!! Aesthetic Pro Workshop!!! The training was 1 week, lots of information, hands-on experience using state of the art equipment. I was somewhat nervous in the beginning, questioning if I could really learn all of the different modalities in 1 week. Emily's' calmness and support throughout the training helped me feel less intimidated and I was able focus on learning the skills necessary to be proficient in aesthetic. Dr. Kirby & Nurse Practitioner Emily brought a wealth of knowledge to our training and before I knew, I was very comfortable with Laser Tattoo Removals, Laser Hair Removal, Cool-sculpting, Clear+ Brilliant, injecting Botox and much more! Yes, that's right. The most valuable part of the classes was the classroom discussions & the hands on training. Aesthetic Pro Workshop provided us with an environment conducive for learning and practicality. I was able to bring someone to inject and another to lase their tattoo. The team made everyone feel welcome and safe. There were plenty of models used to perform the treatments. I'm so happy that I finally took the steps to move into this field of medical aesthetics but more so I am fortunate to have found this training. Aesthetics here I come!!!!! If you are looking to become an aesthetic nurse/nurse practitioner/PA, then Aesthetic Pro Workshop is definitely the place to advance your education. You will gain the confidence and skills needed to be safe and successful. Also, once you completed the training, your education and support does not end, you will always have resources and a team who is behind you 100%! I would highly recommend this Aesthetic Pro Workshop and learning from the best! Michele

Then I stumbled upon Aesthetic Pro Workshop! I work full-time and have kids; APW allowed me to go at my own pace to watch the online training videos. I learned so much about all of the latest and greatest aesthetic procedures, in a short amount of time, and at an extremely reasonable price! The on-line videos are clear, thorough, high quality, fun, and professional. My favorite part was learning neuromodulators and fillers from the expert dermatologist, Dr. Will Kirby! I was always nervous about injectables, but he was able to explain the process so well and really boosted my confidence! I also attended the in-person demonstrations to get hands-on experience. The facility, which is in the heart of Beverly Hills, is new and beautiful, and the staff members are welcoming, friendly, and are truly experts in aesthetics. I had a blast, and felt so comfortable learning alongside other medical professionals who also shared an interest in aesthetics. The best part- I know that adding this certification to my resume will make me stand out to future aesthetic employers, and in a competitive field, that is priceless to me. I honestly recommend this workshop to any medical professional that wants to gain the most expert level knowledge in aesthetics!!!!
