I guess the only down side is the size of the classroom, which limits the number of people who can take the classes. I finally chose Anytime because they ARE NOT/DO NOT HAVE: Absurd prices, crowds, Iinitiation fee, activation fee, towel fee, pushy sales people. What do they have? 24 hr access, towel service, individual shower rooms, awesome trainers that know you by first name, yoga studio with video workouts, tvs, good looking people, and free parking. All downtown. Yes, it's true. Good amount of cardio equipment, and more weights than you can imagine. My gym buddies have also commented that they have more machines than most locations. The shower and bathrooms are also really new and clean, no gross tiles with the weird swampy smells, and rusty metal stuff. and because it's on 1st street, you can grab a bite just about anywhere along this street because you had a great workout and you deserve it! It's been sort of counter productive for me, but I assume I'm the only one with no willpower.

When I went in to sign the contract, I was told that I had an outstanding balance of $250 from when I was a member 2 years ago. I was told that it was sent to collection (affecting my credit negatively) and that I would have to pay the full amount to be able to sign up again. First, I wasn't able to get an explanation to why I had that $250 outstanding. I was given a 1-800 number and every time I call, it says they can't take new callers and hangs up. The request forms on line don't work, so I can't even get an explanation from their head offices. Second, they sold the debt to a collection company, which means that it was written off by them and they no longer own said debt. Asking to collect on a debt they no longer own is misleading and deceptive. They want me to pay the $250, for which they have no explanation, and if I were to pay, then there is still a collection company out there I still owe $250 to as well. Now I'm out $500 ?! That is definitely double dipping and they are more worried about squeezing money from customers than they are about customer retention. As for the gym itself, it is located in eau claire market, which is depressing and deserted most of the time. It starts your gym routine in a depressing mood. There are a lot of squat cages, but the cardio machines are outdated and falling apart. The stationary bicycles aren't bolted down properly, so they shake or are unbalanced when peddling with any effort. Most of the TVs come in grainy on the cardio equipment. Definitely not enough room for the free weights, so people are constantly stepping on each other for space. Then people are forced to work out around the squat cages, which makes using them very awkward. There are plenty of better gyms in my opinion in the core, that offer a better atmosphere and aren't only worried about gouging customers

Here are my reasons: (1) absolutely no customer service as it relates to your policies. You have access to an email that goes to who knows where and no one really knows whats going on; (2) in connection with item #1, they adopt and enforce absolutely ridiculous policies. I was a member of the Vancouver branch and wanted to transfer to the Calgary branch. I was told this was impossible. Instead, my options were to "upgrade" my membership at double the monthly rate or cancel my Vancouver membership, re-enroll with Calgary and pay the initial joining fee again; (3) there's no water fountain. This one is actually extremely bizarre. How can it even be legal to permit people to work out in an environment where dehydration can only be mitigated by waiting for some guy to finish his business in the washroom so that you can desperately access to sink taps? I know its a "no frills" gym but, Fit 4 Less, is a water fountain really a "frill"? At this point, your members may even settle for a garden hose attached in the alley. Don't sign up with this gym. But then I went to their Adrenaline classes and fell in love with moving my body. If not for these classes, I would have cancelled my membership a long time ago. It's built my confidence and now I can go by self and build my own workouts. All Adr instructors I've had have been amazing. Special shout out to Johnena, and Jorge for really caring, correcting, and keeping things so fun. I've even made friends in these classes which wasn't expected. The ONLY reason I have not rated Repsol 5 stars is because the Adrenaline instructors are the *ONLY* ones who do not get paid an instructor salary to do so. I don't think this is fair and if it wasn't for the Adrenaline instructors, I wouldn't be there. And they build programs, carry and set up equipment, correct, teach 45 minutes, and tear everything down. The exact same things their other instructors do. It's terrible they don't pay them.

This gym is only interested in making money out of their customers and that is the end of it. The…read moregym follows unfair business practices, their sales/service representatives are only their to lure you to sign up for their memberships. I went to the gym to avail the Black Friday deal that they offered one of my friend and because it was close to where I live. The person first told me that they don't have the same deal and offered me another deal which made me pay more. I told the guy that my friend was told it is still available and left the gym without signing the contract. I got a call from the gym during Box Day and told that a similar deal is now available but when I went to the gym at first they said that the deal has ended and then when I told them I got a call from the gym they reluctantly gave me a deal which was close to the original deal but still made me pay more. The guy told me it is a one year contract and after one year I can cancel the contract or it will auto renew. After I joined the gym I realized it was not Gold Standard as advertised. The equipment were old and frequently out of service. The personal training session were too costly and the locker rooms where dirty. So after one year and before my renewal I asked the gym to cancel my membership and I was told I still have to pay for another year of annual membership fees and any payment falling in 30 days which technically meant 3 bi-weekly payments. Even after telling the gym that it made no sense for me to pay to annual membership when I am informing you before my renewal date. At this the gym told me that I had signed a contract which says that I need to inform them 30 days in advance and refused to pay me back my money. Please don't go by the marketing campaigns and join another gym that gives you better value for your money.
