The main gym has received a lot of new improvements. They have one larger space for cardio, they recently got new equipment which is a plus and they have classes such as yoga which I've been patiently waiting for. The women's bathrooms for the most part are pretty clean. The only downside is the steam room doesn't always work. The gym can get pretty packed during prime time hours which makes coming to any gym annoying.

When I cancelled my membership, I was explicitly told --both in person and in writing by staff--that extra fees would be waived. Despite that clear agreement, the gym later tried to charge me anyway, hiding behind contract terms instead of honoring their own word. To make matters worse, random "fees" that I was never made aware of were added, including a so-called "facility fee." This is not just a matter of money, but of honesty and integrity. If a company promises something to its members, it should follow through. Instead, I was left feeling misled, nickel-and-dimed, and taken advantage of. There are plenty of other gyms in Calgary that value transparency and treat their members with respect. Based on my experience, GYMVMT North Hill Centre does neither.

All it took was one class - I forgot how much I loved it! A gal recently asked me why I returned, and I told her that I was now the slowest, weakest, and fattest I've been in years, so I decided to return to the place that I know gets the job done! Great gym on 14th Street near Kensington…read more I've been a member since the beginning and I've tried some classes and personal training sessions. The classes are good, especially pilates! I love my trainer Wendy... she's a machine! The equipment is great, and machines feel high end. Plus, from what I have seen so far, there is a minimal amount of douchy gym rats there! ;) Very nice change rooms and a couple of large showers. I guess the only down side is the size of the classroom, which limits the number of people who can take the classes. I see that as a good thing, because I prefer smaller classes, but it may get crowded.
