The grill cook doesn't understand the difference between rare, medium-rare, medium, medium-well. and well, but the food was always enjoyable. The soups were outstanding. I was a saucier and I understand soup. I rarely find a soup that needs no seasoning to my taste, but CC nailed it. The waitstaff are friendly and efficient, even when buried in customers. I give the place as many stars as I can. The ambience is exactly what one wants in an American roadside cafe. Happy customers, friendly employees and they even sell ice. That's important when the temps are in the 120's.

I wasn't questioning the price--I was pointing out that I had been charged for something I didn't receive. Even after acknowledging that my drink was wrong, no one offered to fix it. I had to ask for it to be remade. Then the remake was wrong AGAIN--no cinnamon and no vanilla sweetener, even though I was charged for those additions too. At that point, I gave up. For an $11 drink, waiting almost 10 minutes in an empty store with 8 employees working, receiving the wrong drink twice, and being treated rudely when asking for what I actually paid for is ridiculous. Being a Parker Safeway customer for over 30 years I have NEVER seen a pattern of promotional…read moreproduct discounts at Food City or Walmart which have regularly been in error in the favor of either store. However Safeway continues to NOT provide its customers many advertised item discounts to customers unless the customer carefully checks the receipts after every visit. Most people don't realize how narrow profit margins are in the Supermarket business. IF a certain amount of customers think the sale discount was applied Safeway makes up for narrow margins because items are not keyed into the pricing program always in the favor of SAFEWAY ! Recently I contested a discount not provided at the Customer Service counter. A manager scolded me in an authoritative manner saying, " you need to tell the checker that you want to enter your phone number in order to get the discount " ! I reminded the manager a customer should NEVER be responsible to provide or direct a Safeway employee. That is store managements job. Some checkers ask you to enter your number, others don't say anything. Walmart and Food City are straight forward and old school. Safeway uses every marketing trick in the bag to get YOUR $.
