Unfortunately, I suffered a miscarriage and she told me "well this wasn't planned anyway right?" She then performed my D&C with several complications following. Dr. Franklin was my obgyn long time ago, and I have to say that I really liked her, however, I would agree with other reviews that she didn't put much effort in the patient's care. For instance, I had to remind her that I needed to get the RhoGAM immunoglobulin shot, since I am Rh- and my baby was Rh+ , in order to prevent fetal anemia in future pregnancies that can be actually fatal. I ended up getting 1 shot instead of 2, and on the top of that this one shot that i asked for, I was given to me way too late, and the second shot that should be given in the 3rd trimester, I didn't receive at all! It's actually very negligent on her side as a physician. Luckily or not, I ended up having one child only, but if I would have more children later on, it's very possible that I would end up with miscarriage, still birth, or my future children would be born with some mental disability, since the whole purpose of giving the Rh- women immunoglobulin is to eliminate the risk of developing of antibodies in mother's blood against the fetus. I came to a conclusion that she doesn't give a flip about their patients for whatever reason. Three years ago I moved to Arizona and my current OBGYN is amazing! I wish I had him back then during my pregnancy instead of her. read more

My experience with Dr Franklin has been excellent all the way through. She delivered my 2nd son back in 2013 and has been my OB ever since. She is calm, easy to talk to and has always made me feel entirely comfortable and cared for. I couldn't have asked for a better physician. read more

If you're looking for a Doctor and front office staff who GENUINELY CARES then this may not be the place for you. The receptionist was beyond RUDE! Cutting me off and then hanging up on me as I'm mid sentence thanking her for her "Help!?" What a joke! Hire a new front office team that truly cares about helping others. You're in the medical field to care for others not to judge and disrespectfully demean individuals who are paying cash and PPO insurance plans to your office. Dr Franklin... Never had exact answers for us, everything she responded was with - everything looks great and fine. She would forget simple things like our due date, how far along we are, etc. Dont Doctors read charts anymore prior to meeting with their patients? If everything's great and fine why am I getting letters from the Dept of Health saying my screening tests were incomplete due to my doctors office and to contact my doctors office? So what happens when I contact Dr Franklin.... She doesn't even recall sending me to take my first trimester screening. Hello, you ordered it and I went next door to Quest immediately after my appt with Dr Frankin to take it. I understand she has many patients, I'm not a doctor but shouldn't she still follow through and read my charts thoroughly before I come in? I'm so frustrated by the way I've been treated both by Dr Franklin and her front desk team. The first sign Dr. Franklin wasn't the right choice was that it was difficult for my wife and I to connect with her. She never remembered anything about my wife from visit to visit, not even the medication that she herself had prescribed. How hard is it to read a chart to avoid asking the same questions every visit and make it seem like you care? My wife was willing to overlook that for the duration of her pregnancy until Dr. Franklin started ordering extra tests without explaining why they were necessary. My wife is a nurse practitioner and, while her specialty is not the OB field, she looked for reputable research regarding the testing and was not able to find any. When my wife mentioned that and asked for further explanation, Dr. Franklin was not able to provide it. The final straw was Dr. Franklin having the gall to tell me and my wife we'd feel bad if we didn't do the testing and then something happened to the baby. I'm not the type to get mad easily, but I was so pissed when she said that. First of all, that's simply not a nice thing to say. Secondly, it's not like the extra testing would prevent the common complications associated with my wife's condition. My wife after that chose to seek another provider for the rest of her pregnancy. That's a decision I suspect we will not regret. read more

Dr Franklin gave birth to both my children. One c section and one VBAC. Both times she showed she was skilled in deliveries. The great thing about dr Franklin is her calmness and patience. She is great at what she does. I enjoyed visiting her each appt and also knowing she would be the one delivering my baby. I was bummed to find out she is no longer practicing when I called in January to schedule an appointment. Even now I am learning what a rarity it is to have the doctor who cares for your through your prenatal appointments to actually be the one who delivers your baby. read more

I really loved seeing Dr Franklin and her staff. The office is cute and updated and feels female friendly. Everyone that I spoke with was very polite! I am shocked by the bad reviews for Dr Franklin. I've had some pretty painful and chronic gynecological issues, and I tried many abrupt, uncaring doctors before I was referred to her. She is kind, funny, attentive, and caring. Once I was having such bad pain and was getting the run around from her staff, after I notified Dr F she made a house call because she was so concerned about me having to drive in that condition. When it was time for my daughter to go to the gynecologist, there was no question as to where I would take her. I think for a mom, there is no higher praise than entrusting my daughter to Dr Franklin for her first exam. My only concern is that she'll retire and I'll have to search for a new gynecologist! read more

Dr. Franklin has been completely unresponsive for over a month. No one from the office has called me back. I was actually concerned that she or a family member might be ill because initially she was very good. I liked her calm demeanor. After prescribing a medication that states there should be regular follow up with your doctor I became concerned that nothing had been scheduled. I have called and left 6 or more messages for she or her assistant to call me back. I have sent half a dozen my chart emails and no response. Initially she would respond within 48 hours. Dr. Franklin does not seem like she enjoys her job. Her bedside manner is very unconcerned. She asked few questions, when I had numerous concerns. She did not warn me prior to inserting the speculum for my examination, which caught me off guard and made me want to get out of the office asap. Well I can't say Dr. Franklin is good or bad, since I couldn't even set up an appointment. Administratively her office is slow and inefficient. The staff does not seem to be concerned about the patient's time. I called in on Wednesday, as my coworker referred me. Once on the phone I was asked a bunch of questions, then she kept putting me on hold. Dr. Franklin was a terrible ob. Each time I went into her office she was lazy, slow and sluggish and lacked professional appearance. I had very critical testing done and she never gave me the results. I called the office several times for the results but received no response. Only weeks later when i went in for the next appointment and had to ask in person. Franklin seems like she has no interest in her field. She is not efficient at all. I also would not trust her to deliver my baby. Also they charged me for paperwork my employer sent over and I was not informed of it. I do not recommend this doctor. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Franklin for over 16 years. She delivered both my kids (ages 15 & 12). I appreciate her gentle demeanor. She's always listened to any concerns and handles my needs professionally. Although I only see her annually now, she always remembers me, and my family. read more

The doctor's office has been grossly unresponsive to phone calls and "my chart" emails. We have called over 10 times over the course of about 2 months and still have not been given information on a blood test result. Memorial Hospital customer service and our new doctor's office have also reported not being able to get a hold of the doctor or her staff. Dr. franklin delivered all of my children at Long Beach Memorial. She has aways shown the utmost professionalism to me. She doesn't fill you with information that doesn't pertain to you and she always maintains a calm and relaxed attitude so you never feel nervous or anxious. When I went into labor in the dead of night Dr. Franklin was not on call and insisted on coming in to deliver my child. If you're looking for a well educated professional to use for all of your female needs I highly recommend Dr. Franklin. read more

Dr. Franklin is a great doctor. However, administratively her office is slow and inefficient. The staff does not seem to be concerned about the patient's time and is lackluster about managing patient's labs, test results, and appointments. While, I really do like Dr. Franklin, I feel like the entire experience I have around actually seeing her, is really bad. Usually, I end up spending 1.5 hours on a 5-10 minute appointment because of inefficiency, and a lack on preparation of documents by staff. read more
