I must agree one hundred percent with the previous reviewer. Julia was outstanding at all stages of the game. From the first phone call to the continuing calls past closing (to be explained) she has been attentive, always on the clock, ready and willing to fight for us. Similar to the last reviewer, Julia was always confident that we would find something for us. Additionally, her depth of knowledge of the area and knowing the East Bay's quirky, sometimes scary, and wonderful attributes was really great. She "got" what we were looking for and hit the ground running. (CAUTION! For a more personal narrative see below...) Now to the fun part. So...when Julia found our seemingly diamond in the rough, we were thrilled. She successfully strategized our plan of attack and in the end, and not without some stamina, we won the bid and got a contract. BUT WAIT...it gets better. Upon her direct advice to get every inspection known to man on the place, we quickly learned that our diamond was in fact a lump of coal. Julia helped us to emotionally and financially handle the roughly $90K of improvements necessary and negotiations. If she was not already an FHA expert, she is now an FHA and 203K hero. She recommended our contractor and negotiated an amazing price for the amount of work. She handled all correspondence between our contractor, bank, and HUD consultant with grace, while putting boiler plate and sticky jargon in layman's terms. Finally, after closing and upon move-in, while also living through construction, she continues to check in to be sure that work is going as planned and to see if she can continue to support us in any way after closing. If I could give Julia six stars I would. She was the realtor who sold us our house in Berkeley and we liked her so much that seven years later we engaged her again...and she was even better. Julia's quality of communication is nonpareil and she's very creative. You think, "What's so creative about being a realtor?" Well, she does little things here and there that I'd never heard of, but they were fun, and they worked and they made the whole exercise in selling our home - which is emotional ordeal enough - less painful, and yes, even at times: fun! She knows the most expert inspectors and stagers, and they all work as a team. Julia was right about everything all along the way. If I could find any tiny fault I'd note it here in this review, but there really isn't anything. As the Yelp-dealio above says when I marked five stars: "As good as it gets!" Aye, truly. When we had our first meeting after telling her we were getting ready to sell she had a welter of statistics that defied what the mainstream "news" was saying about real estate prices. We didn't totally believe her, but we hoped she was right. It turned our she was right! She sold our house for WAY over the asking price. If I sound like I'm hyping her, it's only because she truly is a great real estate agent. Here's someone who cares deeply about being excellent at what they do. You know how every now and then you and your friends talk about someone who "really knows their stuff"? And everyone's head nods in agreement? She's one of those people who really knows her stuff. I get the feeling she knows everything about every house that's been on the market from Oakland to Berkeley to El Cerrito to the Richmond hills...over the last 10 years. She certainly knows every neighborhood. If you're thinking of making some changes before your house goes on the market and she thinks the money would be better spent elsewhere, she'll tell you...and give specifics as to why she thinks this. And it's not a hard-sell, but you get the feeling she's probably right. (And she is.) If she says this and that ought to be fixed or improved before going on the market, because it will help the house sell for more, it's a good bet that she'll turn out to be spot-on. She's got a fine sense of humor, works her ass off for you, and she knows she's good but doesn't have an arrogant attitude. My wife and I are hard to impress, but Julia's professionalism knocked us out. She's all about knowledge, energy, trust and communication.
