Nice little stand that offers a lot of food and variety. Since I was mid-walk, I got a smoothie and opted for strawberry and mango instead of the usual strawberry banana. The smoothie was about $12, but it was made with real fruit, which I appreciate compared to syrup-based options. Will be back for lunch. read more

Overpriced tourist trap. Avoid if possible. Smoothies taste like dirty sink water. 14$ burger that i promise you is the saddest burger you'll ever eat. Which for the same price, if you walk west a few blocks, can find several 100% better options. It survives simply because it's the only food & drink option besides ice cream/ elote vendors along this stretch of the lakefront trail in the summer. read more

We've been to this outdoor stand for lunch several times. Today at 12:25pm I was informed at the ordering window that the "chef" (the cook) was on break and I would have to wait 20 min to place my order. Yes, it's true, the cook took his break at lunch time! A novel idea. If not for this I'd give them 4 stars. The food is good, not great; with gourmet pricing. The main reason to go there is because it's on the lake, in case you're in the mood for a lake stroll before or after your meal. They have a nice shaded sitting area outside. They have good burgers, sausages, fries, tacos etc., but nothing special. And a lot of fancy cold drinks. read more

This review is for vegans. I ordered the vegan beyond meat burger earlier today but not sure what I got. I have some suspicions that what I was served was vegetarian not vegan unfortunately. I sure hope I am wrong and will gladly change my review to 5 stars if that ends up being the case. I would be delighted if a manager comments on this and assures me that I didn't accidentally eat eggs and milk. Ok, so first off... It was not a beyond burger. Even though that's what it said on the menu. It looked like a garden burger as I could see carrot bits. Now the problem with garden burgers not being vegan is that they usually need egg to bind it all together. The vegenaise and vegan cheese were authenticly vegan. I saw the follow your heart jar. My other complaint is that I'm pretty sure the bun was brioche (milk and eggs). I truly hope I am wrong. But a shiny bun usually implies brioche. Now the last time I thought I got served real cheese at another restaurant, I ended up being right. In that instance, I paid an upcharge for vegan cheese and received both vegan and real dairy cheese. However, I do want to say that I'm pretty convinced at Juicy the cheese was vegan, however it was the burger and bun in question. I do want to say that they were definitely vegetarian, however when you are vegan there is a huge difference between vegan and vegetarian. I went vegan for health reasons and reasons of morality. It does frustrate me when I order something vegan, expecting to get vegan food and I'm not served that and I unknowingly eat dairy and eggs. Like I said, I truly hope I am wrong. I will gladly change my review if that ends up being the case. But if you are in fact a strict vegan, I would ask about the bun and I would also verify you are in fact getting a beyond burger. Who knows maybe they were out of them and mine just happened to be an exception. But I'm pretty sure garden burgers are vegetarian not vegan. I do want to say that my service was not bad as other people here have reported, everyone was positively nice. However if it says vegan on the menu, it would be nice to be served that. It's important to note they also had a vegan hot dog listed and a vegan taco. I didn't try either one. I did end up eating the burger, I didn't want to make a scene amongst my group. I do want to say that I deeply appreciate that they are trying to accommodate vegans. I just hope what I ate was actually vegan. read more

Probably the worst snow cone I've ever had. The ice is very coarse and will freeze into one chunk. The spoons look to be dirty. The flavors were stacked: lime on the bottom, watermelon on top which just made it limey sugar water. If you just need to cool off, it would be fine, but you could get better elsewhere. read more

I couldn't order a drink here because my phone died and I took the risk of leaving my wallet at my hotel. However, I was greeted by some of the best customer service I could've gotten, and I wanted to shout out the two people who were being the counter at 4:48 on 7/26 (I unfortunately was in a rush and did get their names) for letting me charge my phone to meet my Uber. That was the sweetest gesture, especially when they had every right to turn me away. I'm now safely on my way back to my hotel and I hope they get the recognition they deserve, thank you read more

I discovered Juicy today while out for a walk during lunch. Right next to the Chicago Yacht Club is a small food kiosk called Juicy. Now granted it's a little pricey, but it's just like your average beach food joints, so I was expecting that. Polishes will run you $5.00 and the Chicago style hot dog will run you $4.00. They also sell the regular items you would be expecting...chips, soda, ice cream, etc... What I really like were there fruit smoothies. For $5.00 you can get a 16 OZ fruit smoothie and you can mix the flavors. I opted for strawberry/pineapple and it did not disappoint. So refreshing and well worth it. Not to mention the incredible view you get. They have three tables you can enjoy your snack at, but my recommendation is to take a few steps and eat along the lake front. Great view of the yachts, skyline, and people watching. Thanks Juicy for making me feel like I'm on vacation....now back to reality....and work :( read more

If you're in need of a refresher in the Chicago summer heat near the Lakefront a couple blocks away from the Art Institute of Chicago, this is a great fresh fruit juice and smoothie stand. I opted for the freshly squeezed orange juice, which I confirmed was fresh via their orange juicer machine. I believe that it was $5 for 16 oz. and $8 for 24 oz. Pricey, but rewarding and necessary for many folks who are venturing out on the Lakefront Trail. My brother also enjoyed their strawberry mango smoothie. read more

I was out on a long bike ride and stopped in for a quick bite. The polish was tasty and the snow cone was refreshing, but the 1L smart water I purchased was $5. I get that the stand is on the lake front path with all the tourist traffic, but $5 for a water is outrageous. If I didn't need the bottle to refill down the path, I would have noped right out of there. I came upon Juicy as I was exploring the gardens and the other tourist attractions in downtown Chicago. I forgot to bring water and it was HOT. I ordered a mango spinach smoothie and my uncle ordered strawberry banana. These smoothies were a perfect addition to our afternoon stroll. I believe they were fresh fruit/veggies and ice.
