Great authentic Pakistani food. The service is a bit slow but the portions are great. The Naan roll is amazing. Definitely going again!

Qazi's Kitchen - Keep an eye out for this truck.

This is a very welcome addition to the Rochester food truck scene. Pakistani / American fusion is a…read moregreat way to describe the food - it packs vibrant, authentic flavors into familiar formats that are tasty, filling and (importantly) easy to eat in a public, non-sit-down setting. Speaking of vibrant, the truck itself has a great design. Through my first two visits I've had: Beef Kebab Burger with fruit mint chutney: The beef on its own carries a ton of bright, herby flavor in a lean but tender patty. When paired with the mildly sweet, cool and bright chutney - plus some red onion - it hits the next level. I could eat these every day. Chicken Makhani with basmati rice: Creamy, savory and spicy with a great balance of tomato brightness and a lingering heat that complements rather than overpowers the other flavors. Seasoned Fries: I couldn't tell you if fries are an authentic thing or not but frankly, I don't care. These are the thin shoestring variety and both times have been fried to perfection. The magic is in whatever concoction of herbs and spices the fries get tossed in. There is a surprising depth of flavor here that I imagine comes from the spices partially cooking down on the fries when they're still piping hot. Every time I think I have the flavor nailed down it hits me with a new layer. The Punjabi Plate: A spin on Rochester's Garbage Plate, with a kebab burger patty, seasoned fries, a very good tangy mac salad, and a meat hot sauce that is reminiscent of the Rochester classic but with enough of a twist to separate it from the norm. As you can probably guess from the prior descriptions, this thing is on point. I'm hoping to see the truck at a lot more events in the near future, because the food is stellar.

It was a fortunate mistake though, because this place was much more than we expected. Walking in, you first see the clean, modern cafe. Since we quickly determined they didn't have the wrappers we came for, we instead got lunch. A helpful and patient guy at the cafe explained what everything was. My wife got a potato-filled pastry and a chicken-filled pastry. I got a chicken kabob bowl, a sweet cheese-filled pastry, and some fruity soda. The chicken bowl was the standout for me -- the chicken was crispy and well seasoned, the rice was well cooked, and there was some seasoned onions and cucumber on top. Generous portion for, I believe, $12. I'll definitely be back because I always enjoy a baklava and they had, by my count, 10 different types of baklava. We also saw a lot of interesting grocery items we'd like to explore when we have more time.

Instead of asking us to repeat or confirming the order, they acted as if they understood. After waiting about 20 minutes, we realized our order was incorrect, and we had to wait another 10 minutes for it to be fixed. English isn't my first language either, and I've worked in restaurants, so I understand that language barriers can happen. However, I think it's important to confirm an order when you're not sure. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I wouldn't come back.

I am not very familiar with Indian cuisine and not at all familiar with Nepalese cuisine, but I'm glad we tried it. The menu is large and has many options. Our table shared the veg samosas, which are fried pastries filled with potatoes, peas, and seasoning. These were delicious and my favorite part of the meal! My in-laws got the buffet, which had chicken, shrimp, tofu, among other items on it. I had the malai kofta, which is a ricotta/potato/cashew mixture in a creamy sauce (it comes with a huge bowl of long grain white rice). My husband got the veggie chow mein and loved it. You can get your meal customized to your spice level. We enjoyed it so much that we got takeout the following week and I tried another tasty dish - dal makhani - a bean mixture with tomatoes in a creamy sauce, again served with rice. This looked a bit like chili. There are so many options here that it would be easy to keep going back to try new things. I'm planning to do just that!

Parking was easy being that the place is located in Pittsford Plaza. The server was okay...not really warm and inviting, but not rude either. I explained it was our first time there and asked how drinks worked and she gave me a "your an idiot" type look and pointed to a cooler in the back and said help yourself, but those aren't included with the buffet...ok.... Overall the restaurant was clean, well taken care of and casual dining atmosphere. Buffet- food was unfortunately, just "ok" at best. Bland and warm (not really hot like I was expecting on a buffet). Very small selection and even the vegetables weren't replenished when we were there. 5 stars for the naan bread though, that was by far the best food item out of the whole meal. Unfortunately though they aren't enough to get me to go back or recommend it to my Yelp friends.
