Judy's Kitchen has a mix of delicious Dominican food and even some Mexican staples! I usually only do takeout from here but the service is fast and my order is always right! I love the chipotle chicken wrap, the pork chop/chuleta, platanos maduros, and of course the rice and beans. Also the wrap tastes amazing with the jalapeno cholula sauce (if you own that at home, just a tip). The prices are also very fair, especially for breakfast! It comes with choice of a side, salad, pasta, or fries. Overall, Judy's has a great value for their food (most of their items are less than $10) and will be sure to fill you up and satisfy your cravings. They have quick and friendly service! I ordered and had it delivered today, and the bag was leaking oil. There were a few empanadas in one bag, and they were not labeled. They were also very dry. Amazing food!! Very cute little place to stop in for lunch. Large portions for cheap price and delicious food as well. Their Mexican food of all kinds are so good- I got the Hawaiian quesadilla and it was incredible. I haven't tried the empanadas yet but everyone says they're the best from Judy's. I will have to make a trip there soon to try it out!! Not sure who Judy is, only men work there and they don't know either so I guess we can add that to the list of mysteries about New Brunswick! Wanted to try this place out because of the good reviews and cheap prices. I wasn't disappointed! I got a chipotle chicken wrap and the chipotle sauce really made the wrap. It was the perfect amount of spicy. My only critique is that you can tell it's bad for you lol. By that I mean, it was a little heavy on the stomach. Definitely one of the best places to eat at Rutgers, and it kind of flies under a lot of people's radar too. The food is delicious and you get a lot for what you pay - for just $7 you can get a wrap loaded with chicken, guac, and an amazing Chipotle sauce. Authentic Mexican food. Small place, but that's all you need if the food is great, the staff is nice, and the variety is wide. I got al pastor tacos, which is pork w pineapple. I also got carne asada tacos, both tacos came with green sauce and pico de gallo. The homemade nachos w cheese and ground beef was awesome and perfect. Felt a bit sick after eating. Rice was overcooked and red beans tasted a bit like cardboard. The first bite of pasta salad wasn't bad, but even that managed to be unflavorful. Beef stew itself was standard but very inconsistent much better after adding additional seasoning. Good Spanish homemade food. Small shop with great prices and good comfort foods. They also have a little seating area in the back where you can go and sit down and have coffee or tea or your meal. The chicken burrito was dry, the rice wasn't fresh, and the beans, I'm assuming, came straight out of a can; my burrito tasted old. I would return for the tres leches. Today, Judy's Kitchen refused to deliver to my home because they demanded more $ than usual for their delivery. I've consistently ordered the same items for months now, and this is what they told me. I had high hopes for this place but the order just did not show up. It's nearing two hours and I'm still waiting for the delivery. I called to question it about in hour in and was just told the food was already sent out. When I placed my order I was told it would take 45 min - 1 hour. Two hours is a bit ridiculous. I can't even review about the food because I don't have it. Perhaps it's better to eat in there but I wouldn't recommend ordering it for delivery. EDIT: Well, my food arrived. Authentic Hispanic food served here! Empanadas are great, as are the tacos. Prices are very fair and there is a fantastic menu selection. It's also very conveniently located for off-campus students! When ever I place orders to be picked up it's not uncommon for them to just not take it down so when I walk in there I now have to wait 15min for them to cook my order after I already waited 25min before the pick up. I then switched to ordering online but when I walked in there they said the had no order for a "Nick", after waiting 10 min for them to make my order again I saw they already had my order ready but the owner didn't realize because the name on that order was "Nicholas". Most students will never head down there, which is why Judy's is so special. I wish I could leave a good review as the food wasn't that bad from what I can remember. We ordered once and commented that we would order again to try some other items on the menu. We went to order delivery again one evening through Eat24 and our order was cancelled without any explanation, only an email. We actually didn't realize it was cancelled until we were sitting around, hungry, wondering where our food was. We decided to take another shot at it, despite the bad taste that was left in our mouths last time. As soon as I hit submit on the delivery order, I immediately got an email saying they were running behind schedule. Ok. A few minutes later, the phone rang to tell us that the main protein of the dish I ordered was not available and I was given other choices. I was barely given a few moments to make up my mind. 40 minutes after we placed the order, we get a phone call from Eat24 telling us we would need to pick up the order because they could not deliver it. We were already on the phone with the restaurant once. If they wanted us to pick it up, or could not accommodate the delivery, they should have asked us then while we were talking to them or made that adjustment in their system to show they were not delivering. We told Eat24 to cancel the order. This was absolutely ridiculous. We would have been paying a delivery fee AND tip to go and pick up the delivery order. How absurd?! The food may be good- again, I think we only ate it once, but we were left trying to come up with an alternate dinner plan at 9:30pm. We will not be ordering from Judy's Kitchen again. read more

The empanadas were empty. The quesadilla and buffalo chicken wrap smelled like burnt maple syrup. Trust me when I say this, save your money! The manager, Alfredo, was extremely defensive and confrontational when my boyfriend and I asked for something else that didn't have the strong maple syrup smell. He became aggressive and rude over the phone. I have such a bad taste in my mouth from both the food and the customer service. I'll never order from here again and neither should anyone else. I enjoyed this place more when I first started coming here. Some of the food on the menu is really good sometimes and other times isn't that good and the quality will be pretty bad. Some items on the menu are much better than others. Much of the food is extremely greasy and the pasta salad is really bland. Burritos and wraps will often give you diarrhea. Their breakfast is really good a lot of the time, however. The wait can at times be unbearably long and the service is really bad. One of the employees that is on the grill and takes the orders is extremely friendly, however the other one can be downright rude and arrogant and will absolutely overcharge you for anything he can, and doesn't understand how to operate a phone when taking orders. It's also quite peculiar that they run out of certain food on the menu fairly frequently. The sign inside that says "You want more you pay more!!!" is also quite ridiculous. A lot of the food is pretty overpriced for what it is and is really bad for you, and the service and wait can also be awful, but it's in an old dumpy neighborhood in New Brunswick so you really can't expect that much. That being said, I would still recommend to anyone to try this place since it is different and some of the items on the menu can be really good. Just don't be shocked if you get sick or have diarrhea the next day and don't come here too often or you will really start to be disappointed. read more
