The coffee shop is a bonus. I had never been in Bonney Lake before meeting my now husband of 5 plus years, and I have developed the habit of coming here whenever anything happens in my life. Everything is expensive these days, but I come to Ben Franklin to walk the aisles and feel my feelings. I come here when I am sad, scared, happy, excited. Through celebrations and losses, milestones and ordinary days, it has been a constant place of comfort, creativity, and possibility. I do not usually let staff at any store affect my day one way or another. They have their own lives and stories that I know nothing about... every employee I have encountered here has been kind, helpful, and genuinely pleasant. My child is growing up with paintbrushes instead of iPads, with crochet hooks and yarn, fabric, puzzles, sewing machines, and handmade keepsakes that become symbols of memory. She is learning how to create, imagine, and build with her own hands. A big part of that is because this place exists. We truly love Ben Franklin Crafts. Please do not go anywhere.

Very disappointing customer service experience…read more I stopped by Ben Franklin Crafts in Bonney Lake today looking for some stretch or jersey-type fabric that I could use for a backdrop. Unfortunately, my experience with the customer service in the textile department was very disappointing. I asked the sales associate if they carried any stretch fabric. Before I could even finish explaining what I was looking for, she cut me off and told me that they didn't have any stretch fabric. As I continued looking through the fabrics, I found several materials that clearly had some stretch, including crushed velvet and other fabrics in different textures. I pointed out the few fabrics that I found to her and said that there were a bunch of stretch fabrics, and her response was, "You call that a bunch?" I then explained that I was looking to use the fabric for a backdrop, rather than clothing. She responded, "Oh, I thought you needed it to make clothes or something." The interaction continued in a way that left me feeling like I was more of an inconvenience than a customer who was simply asking for assistance. At that point, I walked toward the exit but decided to speak with a manager because I felt uncomfortable leaving without addressing what had happened. I asked for a manager but was directed to a supervisor. I explained the situation, and her immediate response was essentially that they didn't have any stretch fabric. I told her that I had actually found several examples myself. She then said, "I guess they're new." Unfortunately, I didn't feel like my concern was really being heard or that anyone was interested in helping me find what I was looking for. I ultimately gave up and left without purchasing anything. It's not the fact that they may not have had the exact fabric I wanted--that's understandable. It's the way the situation was handled. A simple, "I'm not sure what we have, but let's take a look," would have made a huge difference. I wanted to support a local business, but based on today's experience, I left feeling very disappointed and uncomfortable. Hopefully management takes this feedback seriously, because customer service matters just as much as the products you carry.

I wanted to send them a guide print to serve as a reference but they would not let me do it and no proofing available. It was a large Giclee so I was a little concerned as I have not ever worked with a lab that refused both guide print and proof. It was a reproduction of my wife's oil painting so color matching is important to us. Communication was over the phone and email so I might have gotten better service in person. A bit defensive when answering questions. Maybe it was me? or they are just too busy because they do good work at reasonable prices.

The moment the when the work needed inspection from the city of Kirkland, which failed quickly. They shirked responsibility and took off with the money. Instead of owning up to their mistake and working to resolve the issue and pour concrete to spec, they never responded and instead blamed us as owners and GCs. Since we trusted them and gave them the full payment in good show of faith - we are now resolved to letting the courts handle it. We are now proceeding with other contractors.

After a full electrical install in my old 1930s house, I was left with more than 60 holes (5") on…read morethree levels, and a big concern was smoothing over lath and plaster work (in addition to beaverboard and standard drywall) as well as paint matching. Got several really good contractors off Yelp to come in and have a look, and bids were all over the place with no guarantees of plaster work or timing. Then, I met Blake the owner of Sandstone construction who was straight-up honest about the work required and confident his crew could handle the job. His bid was competitive and the timing was perfect (about two days later). I decided to go with Sandstone on this big project, and can say that the experience has been great with work coming out much better than expected. As the job began, the entire crew (Corso, Rick, Issac, Matt, Melissa, Steve, and others) were sealing up patches day by day. Then filling with sanding and buffing and then painting rooms by hand or spray machine. Finally, touchups to nearly all spaces in the house. The work lasted over 14 days, and this old house was transformed into something really special. The before and after pictures tell the story better than I can. Today, I look up at my coved ceilings and admire the high-quality workmanship. Without a doubt, I highly recommend Sandstone Construction for any of your bigger projects. Blake is not only a great listener but also is a down to earth individual with high character values. I remember Blake mentioning that he "doesn't have time to be dishonest," and got to see this in action when Blake joined his crew in painting till midnight to make sure the job was done on time as promised. Never have I seen construction company do that, so really a credit to Blake and crew on keeping up the momentum and finishing the work. In summary, I'm really grateful to Sandstone for taking the time and putting in the extra effort to make sure they delivered on high-quality work, on-time, and within budget. We have been told "getting a building permit approved in King County is a lengthly process," This week were contacted by an attorney representing Alpha Steel Buildings, they are out of business and not refunding our deposit. We are frustrated and devastated. Not great news a week before Christmas. We saved our hard earned money for several years before starting this project. Having a company deceive and lie repeatedly to their customers for months at a time is unfathomable. What is wrong with people? This company is BAD NEWS! Stay away!
