I had scheduled wisdom tooth removal surgery planned with Mountain State Oral Surgery (only place around who took my insurance), however the pain became intense and I had tingling and numbness in my lip and chin suddenly begin one morning. I contacted the office to advise of the numbness which is an indicator of nerve issues and surgery was moved up to the next day at the Huntington WV location who had availability. After this experience, I can see why they had availability. Upon arriving I was taken back for X-rays, then returned to the lobby. I was then called back and expressed anxiety concerns to which they dismissed and stated the sedation would help. They struggled to get IV in, which is not entirely their fault, however both of my arms ended up knotted and bruised after the fact. They came to collect payment, while I was in the room being prepped for surgery... They all acted like they needed to rush, and it was a Friday so I am sure they wanted to be done for the day. The room was very uncomfortable and busy/stressful with people in and out and a lot going on. I understand this is probably routine and normal for them, however the complete in-existence of empathy only makes anxiety worse. After being sedated, I was awaken in a complete panic and the doctor began telling me that they were only able to complete half the procedure due to my heart rate. For safety reasons, please note I completely understand this- however I was then told which teeth were extracted and it was not even the one causing all of the issues!! To make it worse, they explained everything as I was coming off sedation so I did not recall every detail and they did not inform my ride of anything that went on or the fact that they didn't even complete the procedure or take the tooth causing issues. Come Monday I contacted scheduling to reschedule. I advised that I absolutely would NOT have any additional work done in Huntington WV and requested to have it done in Ashland. Based on the doctors notes, they would need to send a referral to a hospital and who knows how long the wait is. Mind you, the tooth causing all the issues WAS NOT REMOVED. Why would you not start with the one that is clearly the concern and the reason surgery was moved up? After the procedure, there was no follow up contact from the office, I actually had to call to be sure I would be refunded for the portion they didn't do and ask about scheduling. After all of this- I was stuck dealing with not only recovery pain, but also pre-existing pain that was supposed to be addressed and was not. Needless to say, I'm willingly driving over 2 hours to a much better rated facility to have the rest done. This was an absolutely awful experience and I will NEVER recommend Mountain State Oral Surgery in Huntington WV to anyone and after talking with some others and reading reviews, I know I'm not the only one who has had this type of experience at this office. I called last week and they had still not sent my referral to another office for the second surgery, they did the day after I called last week, but not a phone call since. Also, still yet to receive a refund for half the procedure that wasn't completed. I had to go to the office to request all records, which included the sedation log. Based on the medicines given and speaking with other medical professionals- I can say that likely is what caused my heart rate to increase... Thankfully I found a new oral surgeon on my own and have scheduled the second procedure elsewhere, and after my first consult feel 100x more comfortable with choosing to go somewhere else.

Still unable to get his dentures in and you can tell when they're sort of in they're not fitting right. He called a 4th time and pretty much got told to "figure it out" himself. My husband has not bee able to eat for 2 weeks. If this is "Normal Process" you would think they would be professional and explain this is all to be expected with professional customer service instead they act as if he's a burden and a bother. I would never recommend this place to even my worst enemy. I am usually an easy going person and able to let things go but this has been the worst experience we have ever had. They need to know some people have major anxiety and can suffer severe depression over this WHOLE process so compassion goes along way. Now we're are going to reach out to others to see if they can help since this place is unable to actually be there for people as a company should. I most definitely wished we would have went somewhere else.

I inquired about their whitening. They informed me about their in house strict regimen whitening that requires an apt and it didn't sound like something I was ready to commit to at this time with my work schedule. What's worse is that Dr. Aldridge's own website claims "we strive to accommodate as many patients as possible by accepting most dental insurances". Apparently if you have CareSource Dental and Vision, they don't feel inclined to accommodate you. Be aware, despite their claims, they might not accept your insurance either.

They told me the day they supposedly called and that they left a voicemail and confirmed the phone number. They had the right number but there was no calls even beyond that date, voicemails, texts or emails about rescheduling. I had to take off work to go to said appointment plus my gas money and time. There was no accountability or apologies on their end at all. Just a general attitude of "of well", we can get you in tomorrow. I've had this appointment since my last cleaning 6 months ago, so how does one decide who gets rescheduled?
