Things seemed a bit rushed, but being in the middle of a pandemic, I totally understand them trying to get as many people seen while still adhering to the mandates in our state right now. I went in to get an infected tooth pulled last month, during the visit I got a wisdom teeth consult and an appointment for wisdom teeth extraction. Dr Weaver was very nice and explained everything he was doing and why. Wisdom teeth came out yesterday. Staff again was very nice. Tech talked to me a bit, as I was getting wisdom teeth out with local and not general and I was a bit nervous. Dr Weaver came in and showed me the x-ray, talked about what he was going to do, gave me local anesthesia and let it do its thing. Tech came in to check on me again a couple of times. Once I was numb it was literally less than five minutes and all 4 of those pesky wisdom teeth were out, no cuts or stitches, minimal pain. I've only taken ibuprofen a couple of times since the appointment. I hope I don't have a lot of other oral surgeries needed, but if I do, I'll be making all future appointments with Sokolosky and Weaver.

Amazing staff and Dr. York is the most honest and trustworthy dentist. I have lived in the…read moreHuntington area most of my life and went to Dr. York growing up and while in college and then moved away. I move very often, mostly to larger cities, and currently reside outside of Philadelphia. A few months ago I went to a new dentist for the first time near my home in Pennsylvania and was given the news that I had 16 cavities, needed a root canal performed and needed a tooth extracted, a bill which totaled over $10,000.00 after insurance payments!! I was shocked at this news, and most definitely did not believe it, since of course, I've only had two cavities in my entire life when seeing Dr. York, but yet, it had been a few years since I had seen a dentist, but still this seemed excessive and I wasn't sure what to believe and didn't know if this was just a gimmick for the dentist to receive more dollars in his pocket. I made an appointment to see Dr. York on a visit to see family in Ohio to get his opinion, and long story short, I did have cavities, but only five, and no root canal, no extractions. So only around $158.00 after insurance payment out of my pocket!! Dr. York is an amazing doctor. He has a well established business. He doesn't have to "fake" cavity fillings to make more money because he does well and is honest and that is why I go to him even though I live far away!! I'll arrange my appointments to correspond with family visits from here on out!

I took a long time to marinade and have a basis for comparison before writing this review. I was a…read morepatient of Dr. Holmes for Invisalign. Positives: Dr. Holmes and his staff are incredibly friendly and personable, and the office is very efficiently run. It was very rare to be waiting after your appointment time. Dr. Holmes seems to be on the cutting edge of treatments, and a perfectionist, which can be very good in the profession. Negatives: The characteristics just mentioned didn't work well with me. Even though he was very nice I felt like he was doing what he wanted with my treatment regardless off my feelings. Examples: He put the extra ridges on the Invisalign (for when treatment gets advanced and it's hard to keep the Invisilign on and you might need to put "glue" tabs on your teeth that the Invisilign goes over) on the two teeth next to my front ones - making them VERY visible! The purpose of Invisilign is to barely see it! Others I knew with Invisilign had these on their back or side teeth. When I asked about it Dr. Holmes said it was best for the treatment- that very well may be, but not best for me. I'm in in my 30s not a middle schooler, and my job is outside sales. Then he wanted to treat my gums with a procedure involving putting bolts in my gums and using rubber bands which he was very excited about so I agreed. He assured me the rubber bands and bolts wouldn't be visible. NOPE. The bolts weren't but the bands were on my front teeth - again I'm not a middle schooler. When these things happened and I'd express my anxiety/unwillingness it's like he and the staff became motivational speakers - "oh you can barely see them", "It'll be so good for you". Thanks all, but I DON'T WANT THIS. Treatment became so long and tedious with all these "extras" that I threw in the towel a little over a year in - when he initially said I'd be done in a year! Yes my top teeth, gums and bite looked great. But my bottom teeth went back to crooked and I had to re-do treatment a couple years later. Not saying this wasn't partially my fault for discontinuing treatment early, but "early" was more than the time I was told I'd be in treatment total. I will note that he did a laser procedure on my gums that looked fabulous! But again I felt this could've been done without months of bolts and rubber bands. Maybe not but I feel I wasn't educated properly on my options and he wanted to "try out" the bolt/band procedure to see it's results beforehand causing me more social discomfort than necessary. Overall I think Dr. Holmes is very talented in his profession. I also think he meant well and runs a great business. My experience just wasn't what I wanted/needed and for 3k+ I feel it should've been.
