Visited on Sunday lunchtime to celebrate a family birthday. Great country house feel, staff very very friendly yet all professional and not over familiar. Menu hits all the right spots without being over done. Roast beef perfect with vegetables cooked very well too. Portion size was generous without being overbearing. Definitely no sloppy cabbage and 3 types of potatoes aimed at filling you up as cheaply as possible.Desserts were really very good indeed, chef has a talent there for sure! Lastly we let it slip we were actually celebrating a 90th birthday , within minutes chef had created a beautiful assortment of little sweets with a chocolate inscription on a slate plate, presented with compliments by our super waitress.
