I had to go down to the restaurant to book the party and a second time to confirm the reservation, 2 days before the party. Service was good except we were rushed out of the restaurant after 2 hrs due to the staff needing tables for reservations after our group. Food presentation is top notch however the food itself is very mediocre for the price. I was also not impressed that they would not allow me to bring in our own birthday cake even though our total bill was close to $800. I give this restaurant a 3/5 stars

You…read moredefinitely go for / pay for the super pink / super flowery ambiance more than for the food, because for the super pricey $28 price point the food was fancy "sounding" but definitely not up to par on the plates put in front of us. We both ordered the Seaside Benny & hash browns; over medium which should have been 50/50 yolk set / yolk runny. Hashbrowns were just meh, the typical bagged cubes from Sysco & deep fried. Hollandaise was sparse and not really enough to even cover the also sparse seafood mixture (with canned crabmeat for $28?!?!) on plain bread (not brioche & not an English muffin). Better breakfast can be had at other places for sure. Service was fine but definitely a one time & one time only visit to channel the girly side. There was an extra jewelry / trinkets / gift merchandise selection for girls / women of all ages on display at the front. We both had $9 specialty coffees: a salted caramel pumpkin spiced latte & a cinnamon bun latte.

We got seated at our table and then we waited...and waited...and waited... So the manager came by and asked us if we need anything and I replied, "Yeah a server." Apparently there was a mix up with communication and whose table was whose. It is gorgeous inside. Very sexy. Plush benches, silver tones, and blue lights. This would be a great place to be seen after a hockey game or something. Finally with our fixed menu in hand and some water. The manager asked us if we would like the wine paring for no extra charge. What a fabulous gift! We started out with the black truffle and brie aranchini. This is super rich and flavourful. Great texture on the outside and creamy goodness on the inside. My husband and I got one of each of the salads - Wedge and Ceasar. The portions were massive, so I am glad I got the wedge. I could pack it up and it was fresh and crisp the next day. Dressings on both of them were excellent I got the black sesame ahi tuna and my husband got the petite filet. Both were excellent but if I wanted to finish dessert I would have to get this packed for home. Finaly onto dessert my husband got the chocolate peanut butter bar, while I went with the strawberry pavlova. Both were fine, but the peanut butter bar was super rich. The wine pairings were excellent. Great place, even better when you have a super deal.

It was a bit too much for me, but we can't all like the same things. I think the staff might have recommended we not order two mashed potatoes, but otherwise service was sufficient and relatively attentive. Attention was given to my gf dietary needs, but no attempt at a gluten free bread was made, as has been done a similar high end establishments. Our waitress nearly gave our meal to another table, but fortunately was intercepted by another server. We arrived at 5:30 and got our meals at about 7:00. The ambiance was reminiscent of a high end pizza place- large marble topped tables to shout across. My lamb was a bit under done, but that was okay since I had allowed for that. I've had better lamb in my own home, but I admit I'm not a fan of char as the main flavour. It was very attractively plated and I liked most of the vegetables that shared the plate, excepting perhaps, one or two pieces of bitter greens. My two companions enjoyed their meals, both having ordered filet. The three of us wound up spending about $300.00, tip included.

It's and landed on birdog because the lobster ravioli sounded great and the bison carpaccio peaked my interest. It looked to be a Canadian spin on Italian classics which melted my heart. I'm impressed by the level of service Francisco who was wearing every hat that afternoon showed us. He created us very warmly and seated us and quickly gave us ice cold water since outside was scorching hot. I saw on a menu posted on yelp that there was a pornstar martini that is no longer on the menu, but I asked Francisco his opinion on what drink I should order. He recommended the tulum rider which turned out to be very good but I really did have my heard set on the one I saw online from a past menu. He still offered to make it for us and did an excellent job!! That was the best anything I've ever put in my mouth. Put that back on the menu!!!!!!! The food was incredible. I definitely will be ordering the Margherita pizza the next time I'm there and the bison carpaccio. The ambiance was definitely giving luxury and I can't wait to show this place off to my friends when they're visiting in the city

There are so many places to eat in edmontons downtown core. But this is always one of my fave sort of chill fun places to have a nice chat with friends. The atmosphere is great with plenty of TV to watch the games or sporting events if you cant watch it live in the arena. The have cool events like a piano duets or live dj spinning old school beats on weekends. Food wise... the salads are top notch. I actually hate ordering salads at restaurants but this place probably does it the best. The ceaser salad or the pear salad are pretty phenomenal. You honestly cant go wrong. My mouth is salivating thinking of how delicious they are. The pizzas are great too. I love the truffle mushroom pizza, the honey glaze is pretty stellar. All the other pizzas are great too. Perfect amount of sauce to topping ratio. I was just in italy and honestly the pizzas taste exactly the same. Supposedly they import all their toppings from italy. So that totally makes sense. I have had lots of other dishes and I love the specialty dishes too. They are so unique. Done nicely. A bit pricey but you pay for good food and quality. The portions are always big enough to satisfy me so I do not mind paying the prices here for an upscale meal. It is always a place I love to go to for happy hour or pre or post Oilers game because they have quick service that always gets me in and out in a hurry. But they also let me linger if I feel like chilling out. I honestly love the music so much here too!

We were waiting for someone who would take a couple minutes longer, so the server got us beverages and then would come back when our third arrived. Third arrived, and the server took a very long time to come back, then asked our third what they'd like to drink. The drink never made it to the table. Another server came by to ask if our third would like a drink. Once the food made it to us, the food was decent, but when you have to return to work, you hope that a lunch will move at least at an average pace. We had a couple different servers check on us- so overall it seemed like folks weren't sure who the table belonged to. It was also way more expensive than I remember Original Joe's being (but I haven't been since before the pandemic). I think for the price, I would be more inclined to eat elsewhere.

For starters, we had the crispy yam fries and the Creole crab & spinach dip. Both were very good! I wasn't a huge fan of the chips that came with the crab dip, but honestly, that's such a small thing compared to how good the dip itself was. For mains, we had the chicken fingers and the peppercorn ribeye. The chicken fingers were SO good -- perfectly cooked with amazing breading. I wasn't a fan of the honey mustard, and unfortunately they didn't offer another dipping sauce, but the chicken itself was fantastic. And the ribeye... SOOOO GOOD. It was cooked perfectly medium rare, and the mashed potatoes that came with it were amazing. Definitely one of the highlights of the meal. The décor was great -- very modern and very 109th Street. It has that slick, upscale bar vibe that fits the area really well. The only awkward part was the hostess stand, which kind of puts you in the middle of a very active walkway while you're waiting. The staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating, though! Huge shoutout to our server Abby, who was fantastic and made the experience even better. Overall, really enjoyed our dinner at Cactus Club. A couple tiny misses, but the food, atmosphere, and service definitely made up for them. I'd absolutely come back!

Compared to the melting pot I would say the quality is about the same but I do prefer the melting pot dippings for the dessert (pound cake ). I don't remember the portion size of the melting pot so if you do remember you can just compare with the photos as that is the course meal for two. With the attached photos that is the 4-course meal for two which comes out to about $170 after tip and one drink (missing a soup that I chose). The main course portion gives you six pieces of each meat (coast to coast option) and there were 4 different types of meat and the scallops on that option were sliced into 6 pieces so you essentially only get like 2 scallops. For the cheese portion they said they could bring more bread if needed and for the chocolate they did not say anything so I am not sure if you can get more or not for the chocolate portion. Their four dipping sauces were pretty good though. They had a garlic dip, a sweet teriyaki, a butter chicken and a tar tar sauce. That being said you are essentially paying for the service and experience. It started out pretty decently and everything came out after we were done with the previous course. However, after the main course for some reason our server never showed up again. We waited 50 minutes before we were able to flag another server from another table down to get our last course. They explained everyone was training that day so it might be slow but I don't see how training is required to check up on your table a few times within a 50 minute period. We were sitting for a total of 3 hours by the time we got our chocolate. Currently, I think the melting pot and this place are the only fondue places so there are not many options if you want a full course fondue. I would not recommend it if they have not fixed their staff issue but if they have it would be comparable to the melting pot.

I wish the menu specified the patties are smash patties and VERY small so even though it says 2 it tastes like no more meat than 1 normal patty. Friend said he did not get this burger cause he thought it would be too much protein and more like 1/4 lb of beef. Patties were cooked great, flavor was good, bun was good. Sesame brown rice this time was underwhelming, not enough sesame sauce so rice was very bland. Broccolini was a side available (not on the online menu) and was cooked perfectly.
