Jubilations Dinner Theatre is a favorite spot of mine - Jubilations offers a good variety of musical shows, with great foods. The last concert I saw was Canadian Top Gunn: The 80's Take Flight! Somewhat based on the movie Top Gun, but the Canadian version. 1980's music was also part of the show, sung by the cast themselves. Service was good, and so was the good and music / concert. Why have I not been to Jubilations Edmonton yet? I attended the Pirates of the North Saskatchewan River this afternoon and I don't have enough accolades to include in this review. The actors were of superior talent, the music selections were so fun and the meal and service was outstanding. Loved the timing of the 3 course meal intertwined with the performance. We went to the recent adult show. And all I can say it is consistanly okay. Food is not great. Don't come here for the food. I had the salmon welington and it was dry and overdone. The pastry was dry and the salmon was dry. Very little flavour. My husbands beef was okay but lacked flavour as well. But this has been an issue for years. I just wished that after the 50th comment card saying the food needing more flavouring it would say something. However, I understand they are doing a mass banquet style meal, but I think that they probably could do better Show was fun. Place had great murals on the wall and the stage was great as usual. What is disappointing is the service. A few years ago the servers were able to interact with the participants. But now they are not really in costume and we had to wave down a server multiple times. My friends and I will come here once or twice a year to see a show, dinner and enjoy a nice evening. Reservations are a must, you can view seating and book online, over the phone or in person. It's located on the second floor in West Edmonton Mall so you can arrive early or stay late to shop as well depending on the day! Your ticket includes the meal which consists of a salad, entree and dessert and coffee or tea. Other beverages are extra and you can upgrade your entree for an extra $6. Usually it's the prime rib that's extra but this time, they also had bbq ribs as an option. The shows usually have funny parts which makes it that much more enjoyable. The singing and dancing is entertaining. Overall always a great performance! The ticket prices are reasonable and there is no bad seat anywhere. Service is great every time, no complaints. read more

Came here to celebrate my nephews 4th birthday. Came on a Tuesday night and the front 3/4 of the place was packed. Soooo many kids, of all ages. We went to Toy Story. 4 year old loved it - said "better than a movie". He even got on stage for a birthday dance with 2 dozen other kids. He got squished in the congo line which was unfortunate but understandable as the other kids are older/bigger and everyone was super excited. 2 year old was surprisingly more entertained than I thought he would be. He clapped and waved his hands as he loved the songs and strobing lights. He ran around between songs. Assorted veggies + ranch dip for appetizer was super healthy but not really appealing to the kids or myself. I personally would have preferred a choice of hummus. But I liked that there was quite a large selection of vegetables on the plate. The vegetables did look and taste fresh and crisp. We got a pitcher of the 'To Infinity & Beyond' (apple juice and Sour Gummy Syrup) it was Delicious but mostly just apple juice. Very sweet. They ask how many cups and bring just enough gummy worms for each cup. We asked for 4 cups and the pitcher filled all 4 cups full once. We also got a pitcher of 'Giddy up' (Galliano, Lychee Liqueur, Cranberry juice, Lime) - it was super Lychee taste which my family really loved and very little alcohol taste. Very sweet. We asked for 4 glasses and they brought cool glasses and the pitcher filled about 6 of these cups. Drinks come with the appetizers if ordered ASAP so we drank on an empty stomach which we definitely felt later - aka I got a gut ache from toooo much sugar. I got the chicken entree - it was fine. Not great but chicken wasn't dry as it came with a cream sauce. Mashed potatoes were better than expected. Carrots were fine. Friend got the roast beef - he liked it. It wasn't too fatty which was nice. Nephew got the cheese pizza - he ate everything but the crust so obviously very good. 2 year old got the noodles in alfredo and enjoyed that as well (good thing we brought some chicken nuggets to supplement all these meat-less dishes). Dessert - I was disappointed there wasn't a choice. Rice Krispy treat from Kellog's was as expected. Cookie was not as soft as desired and meh. Gave the candy cane away. Overall not impressed. Bathrooms are in the lobby so awkward to get to as we sat far left (farthest from the doors in). Overall kids liked the show a lot, food was meh, drinks are fun, and it was a great night out. read more

I came here recently as part of a group booking and it sure was a lot of fun! Now admittedly it was a full house so that meant that service was slower than the previous time I had attended a show at Jubilations (admittedly that was 12 years previous though so stuff has changed a bit!). I asked for an ingredient removal on my salad and got that but then my salad came without a breadstick which wasn't ideal. Still it was delicious and later the server brought us extra breadsticks. My fish was great though the veggies were a bit overly salty. The dessert was just okay. The biggest food/beverage faux pas was when I got a hot water refill for my tea and it was contaminated with coffee (I'm pretty darn sensitive to the flavour of coffee in my water unfortunately). Still I had a great time. The reason being is that the show was outstanding! What you come for at Jubilations is the themed server apparel and actions, the acting and singing and in this case choreography/dancing/acrobatics. Honestly the performance was great! Quite funny and lots of songs that were recognizable makes this kind of show homey and well worth seeing. Everything from the decor to the audience interactions was on theme. I was so pleased by the whole thing. Kudos to the performers for a great night. Sure, I might have preferred the show from 12 years previous in some ways but each is unique. Hard to compare across time. This place is good for a group booking and good for a family experience. Perhaps I'll take in a Jubilations Junior show sometime too. I am very disaappointed with Jubilations(Edmonton) It has been over 2 weeks and I cannot get over how I have been treated. I had a gift certificate for my 70th Birthday for 2. I had made reservations at the end of Dec/24 for a evening Feb 16/25 (Sunday). Unfortunately I transposed the date on my Paper Calendar Feb. 19/25(Wednesday) I got messages from Jubilations about my reservations with the Feb 16th date but I kept thinking of Feb 19. When they called me to check where I am on the Sunday Feb 16 I was so very surprised. I am at fault being that you need 48 hours to cancel..but I really thought I was going on the Wednesday Feb 19. I spoke to the manager 2 days later and they refused to honour my gift certificate for Wednesday. I checked there was so many seats available. REALLY I have attended so many shows with Jubilations in the last 25 years. I would of attended Wednesday and even spent more dollars. You also have taken my $120.22 and given me nothing and made a huge profit. You didn't precook a meal just penalized me for a missed reservation. I have loved Jubilations and attended many shows. Very overcrowded seating. No ventilation. Not enough exits. Same menu for each dinner. Rare roast beef with instant mashed potatoes. Over priced wine. Not enough staff to facilitate the crowd. My husband and I attended a showing of "Schipp's Creek" last week which was obviously a parody of the popular show "Schitt's Creek". The show was excellent and all of the actors did a great job portraying their characters. It definitely felt like a live episode of the show. As with all Jubilations shows, the actors randomly burst into popular songs that make no sense but at least this time one of the characters cheekily joked about singing another song that has nothing to do with the scene. From a COVID perspective, don't go if you have concerns. I definitely wasn't ready to be sharing tables dining with strangers and wore my N95 mask whenever I wasn't. There was only one other group wearing masks consistently. I've been to other restaurants and theatres over the past year and this is the most uneasy I've felt. I don't see myself coming back anytime soon. The food was pretty bland. We had to request a vegetarian version of the caesar salad as the default had bacon. I enjoyed the cheese bread it came with and wish I could have had a 2nd piece. The vegetarian entrée was a gnocchi with cream sauce and unseasoned vegetables. For dessert I chose a cinnamon bun which was dry and flat. I would have preferred one from Safeway. The drinks were all pretty good and they have great options to order a pitcher and share. I liked that all the meal options and drinks had creative names related to the show. I went back and forth on what ranking to give Jubilations before settling on a 3. However, I don't want that to mean I don't recommend it. It is great value for a 3 course meal and a show and I would recommend everyone check it out once. read more

The experience from the initial securing of the tickets right through to the end of the evening (Dec 15/23) was incredible. Staff was professional, informed and accommodating. Our staff, Board of Directors and volunteers thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The scheduling of the meal service between acts was perfect. It gave our group time to socialize during the evening. The costs for our group of 20 was very reasonable and I would recommend Jubilations as an option for any corporate/group celebratory event. Four of us went to Jubilations Dinner theatre last weekend. I have been half a dozen or so times before this. The show was good, funny and very entertaining (as usual). The service was its usual high quality.We felt like we were being catered to!!! The food is what I would really like to rave about. It was absolutely perfect!! I'm not sure what has happened, but the food used to be extremely bland, and nothing to boast about. Well, let me tell you ~ the food we all had this last time was unreal. Hubby & I both had the prime rib. It was one of the best we've ever had!! The other couple had the roast beef, and they said it was also amazing!! From the salad, right down to the deserts, all of us would rate the complete meal a 10 out of 10!!! Went to Jubilations to see "Greased" with my family to celebrate my Niece's birthday. The Play: Not bad, good entertainment. The story line was very family friendly and light. It was nice how they gave regular breaks in the production so we could socialize at our tables, use the washroom and eat, etc. The Food: A salad came out the kitchen first. It, and the dressing were okay. For my entree, I ordered the prime rib (surcharge of $6.00). It was cooked to medium. I found the beef to be very tender and juicy. The gravy on it was delicious as well. The support staff went around the room dropping off extras for the beef, like horseradish. I thought that was a nice touch. As for the accompanying broccoli, one or more pieces looked/tasted like it had been freezer-burned before cooking. To drink, I ordered a Pepsi (which was bottomless) which tasted great, not watered down or mixed with too much ice. I ordered the chocolate cake for desert, which was much larger than I had envisioned. It tasted okay, very rich. The coffee that went with the desert was lukewarm, and was otherwise unremarkable. The Service: The bus boys and support serving staff were the real heroes of the night as far as food service went. Our main server initially took our orders, but we didn't see him or our drinks for a minimum of 1.5 hours after ordering. He apologized for the mix up and offered to charge our drinks (pop) to the house. He then dropped off pony jugs of pop for each of us. The support staff were exceedingly friendly and accommodating while delivering the meal courses. For dessert our server did not go around our table asking what each of wanted to drink, instead he just spoke to just a few of us, then disappeared again. The support staff was able to pour me a cup of coffee. Overall: All and all it was a nice night out. The highlight for me was winning a free show in the door prize at the end after filling out and submitting the feedback card! I would totally come back again. Based on the level of service received, I really don't know if it was worth the price of admission. It was nice to support a local business. In the the future, Jubilations should do a murder mystery play/dinner, airing right around Halloween (Oct/Nov)! read more

Jubilations Dinner Theatre is a silly place. From the very beginning right to the end they never stopped trying to put more smiles on our faces - and I don't mean that figuratively. Literally right from the moment you enter the room you will be guided to your seat by some of the most over the top ridiculous cast of characters you've ever met. One of these, a true artist in physical comedy, staggered around with a drink in his hand tripping up and down the stairs yet never managing to spill his drink. Once you are seated the staff, girded with preposterous costumes and ludicrous accents, will regularly stop by your table to entertain you with their playful banter. We chatted with various characters who would be starring in the play including a self-important lady mayor and a British music executive. But even the serving staff were fully in character and we also talked with a turn-of-the-century New York newsy, and a bizarre German tourist who kind of looked like Elton John. Like I said - it's a rather silly place. For the food, the menu doesn't really give you a whole lot of options, but as long as you like typical Canadian restaurant food the four basic selections (two beef dishes, one chicken, and one vegetarian) should be enough for most people. I had the prime rib which was delicious. My wife's chicken was very tender, but maybe a little bland. The drink menu was very inventive, and they made every effort to ensure that even the non-alcoholic drinks were full of fun and imagination. The main act was a typical rock 'n roll musical comedy. The cast of characters included everyone from across the decades from Elvis to Miley Cyrus. The acting was over the top and highly exaggerated, but that truly made it a more entertaining evening. There's nothing quite like seeing Mic Jagger strutting around a lunchroom or an evil Madonna plotting to take over the musical world to make your day. The dance numbers were very fun, and the singing was usually pretty good - usually. Overall, I would say that Jubilations presents a wonderful and very full night's worth of entertainment that a typical dinner and a movie could never match. So I came back to Jubilations after I said I wouldn't but it was a free show so I decided to check out their new location. We arrived after 6:30 and there was no lineup and hardly anyone in the lobby. But inside the theatre it was a full house. Our server throughout the meal was very friendly and prompt but over acted a little bit. He brought us our potato and leek soup but we thought we would have to choose between soup or salad. After the soup was done we also received a side salad which wasn't very big but tasty. I would have preferred to only have a larger salad. The first act seemed to be the longest and at the break we were served our entrées. I ordered the Haddock and it was a little bland but the vegetables and rice were good. The second act wasn't very long before our dessert. My cranberry whispers cakes was a nice cake and not too fruity but I liked the cranberries. I'm upping my rating a star as the food quality has improved. The show is still not great quality with goofy jokes and ok singing on 3 stages where sight lines aren't ideal and you may be twisting and bending as if you're playing Twister. Wouldn't pay the regular price of $80 for a weekend show but free is a-ok. read more

Another awesome night out at Jubilations! I have been going periodically for many many years but due to the thing that shall not be named, it has been a few years since I last got to experience the new location of Jubilations. And boy, have I missed it. Jubilations has moved to the section in West Ed on the hudson's bay side just on what I like to refer to as Wedding dress Alley. They have several different shows a year where you get to watch a show and in between the acts you get a started, main course and dessert. Your meal is included in the ticket price but the day of you pay for drinks and gratuity. This time we saw night at the museum of rock. It was so entertaining, the staff were all welcoming, the singing and dancing AMAZING and the food was great. I really think it is one of those places that you just have to experience in Edmonton. My son and I went to the Super Mario show. It was awesome. My son is celiac and he was served a safe meal he thoroughly enjoyed. Our waitress Raffi was wonderful. Attended Trolls Christmas. Although the kids enjoyed the performance I felt it lacked in Christmas or Holiday Season decor and content. No songs like Rulolph or Frosty, etc. Songs were more geared to an older crowd. Not much for Holiday decorations. Was expecting more of a Christmas performance. I have been going to Jubilations for years and unfortunately the changes as per no buns prior to meal is disappointing. thought they may have changed back since many complain. food was about 4/5, service 3/5, they were more worried about a lady sitting in the back which appeared to be of some importance. they hovered our table and making a spectacle in the area. they would hover around her table in front of us and it became annoying. the show was horrible, the two lead ladies could not hit high notes . It sounded as if they were screaming. it pierced the ears, and was very unpleasant. if not their voices then the sound/lighting needed to adjust. the show was drawn and gruelling with very little humour like other and many jubilation shows. In addition, I also was not pleased ... that the previous show my mom won the draw at the end of the night and only won one ticket, who goes to a dinner theatre with only themselves!?!? and to top it off she could only attend the up and coming Friday show. we live 3 hours away and to arrange a strict timeline is very challenging with work and travel. I had my first dinner theatre experience at Jubilations. First off the price is reasonable for a three course meal and show. My friend took me as a surprise as she knows I love star wars. The set is really well done, and they make a point of moving around the whole room so expect a bit of interaction from the cast. I didn't expect the servers to be in the show... but they are and it's a fun talking point with the staff. My server was one of the Stormtroopers so I said 'Aren't you a little short to be a Stormtrooper?', and he didn't laugh at my hilarious Star Wars reference. WHAT?! The performance was great and I like the program, with a little about the local actors in the show and the set (and themed) menu inside. The food starts off with Stormtrooper soup and a lightsaber salad. The soup was good but the salad was pretty basic. The mains weren't really jumping out at me so I decided to pay the supplement of $6 for the prime rib - which was enjoyable. Followed by Dark Side dessert which was a very rich chocolate cake. The drink options were funny too, Imperial Army cocktail to start, followed by a solo shot before the second act and hyperdrive hot chocolate for the finale! I hadn't been to Jubilations since it moved locations in the mall (read: a really long time) I had always remembered it as such a fun time (especially for a drama nerd like me) but I also remember the food always being mediocre. It's like I say to most people - you don't really go for the food. The show (Star Warz) was great and well done, I'm A huge Star Wars fan. The service was fantastic. I had the pasta dish and was really happy with my choice, we had almost one of every dish at our table and from what I heard aside from the beef which was not great the rest was good. Myself and a tablemate were requested to go on stage for "Stormtrooper Training" which would up being a "could have been worse" game of Darth Vader says. I wish this came to mind more often when thinking of creative date nights or outings. The 5+-star talented performance of The Office - a musical parody is a heart-warming, laughter-filled comedy, presented with lots of love, affection, and humor by superbly skilled actors. Wow! The delicious dinner was served by super-caring, and eccentric servers (each one featuring a fun quirkiness). Our sweet waiter (Table 51) said his dream is to one day combine singing, dancing, acting, and even the accomplished acrobatics and skilled gymnastics of this evening's talented show. Brought my friend here from out of town to see The Wedding Singer overall was a great evening the service and show were fantastic! The salad and dessert were so good but was sadly disappointed in the main course. Had the marinated pineapple teriyaki salmon which did not have much of a pineapple teriyaki taste and a tiny little piece of pineapple kind of thrown on top of end pieces of a salmon. The rice and carrots were yummy but the broccoli was so undercooked I had a hard time cutting it with a knife so left that on the plate. Jubilations is not normally a place I would consider going. My first visit was November 2016 for my mama's birthday. She's talked about going there often enough and her birthday fell on a "cheap day." It definitely pays to be a student with a senior parent. Also, it was a great excuse to try it for less. I have been back twice since. The second visit was in the summer and was asked to participate as an extra. That was not as terrifying as I thought it would be. The lights are so bright you cannot see the audience. The show was quite entertaining. The wait staff were also partial players in the show with the main cast making their rounds between acts. I enjoyed watching the engagement more than I enjoy participating in it. That is entirely a personal preference. They do well at reading the personalities at the tables, so have no fear. No one forces people to participate. The food is fine. It isn't fine dining, but the food it good. The portions aren't over the top, but sufficient. You get a soup, salad, entree ($6.00 extra for prime rib), and dessert. Tip: Get a pitcher of whatever they are calling a Shirley Temple (they change it to theme with the show) and have a bunch of laughs. Or get an alcoholic drink, they have a full bar at your service. read more

The performance of Mamma Mio was the best show I've ever seen at Jubilations. Vocals were excellent and the cast very versatile. The portrayal of the Ace Ventura character was incredible . . . very funny and entertaining. One young lady came to our table and engaged us in conversation several times throughout the evening, and then came back to say goodnight before we left. I'd recommend this performance to anyone thinking about going. Very enjoyable evening. read more

My husband and I came here for the first time on Aug 12/23 for our Anniversary. This was our first and last and i will tell you why. We arrived at 6:15pm and was seated right away. Within minutes we were already getting our salad which was really good. We then had to wait almost 1 1/2 hrs for our dinner. I had this lemon chicken they made with a lemon sauce and it was so sour overcooked and dry took one bite i almost threw up it was just vile. My husband had ribs and the bbq sauce was just pure sugar they were awful he barley ate any of them they were so sweet. His veggies like mine were the same soggy and tasteless but the roast potatoes were fine. We then did not get our dessert till 9:00pm. The best part of the evening was the staff/servers they were all very friendly. The show was average at best. To say the least it was a very disappointing evening. Would not return read more

The show was spectacular -- all the singers were truly great. The meals the four of us had were even better than expected. I had a hard time trying to decide whether to have the prime rib and it was definitely the right choice. Two others had ribs and enjoyed them immensely. I love Jubilations. Yes, the show is going to be cheesy, but it's a delightful bit of cheese! And the actors (the whole team) are working their hearts out, which you just have to admire. As someone with a pile of allergies, I was thrilled to find how accommodating they could be on our late trip. We called ahead and told them about the foods I can't eat and the customer service team went over the entire menu, item by item, and explained what would be safe for me (I even had choices, which is rare for me!). With my latex allergy -- the head chef generally wears latex gloves, but the GM assured us that she would forgo them during our visit and ensure a latex safe kitchen for my meal. All of my allergies were double-checked by our server upon arrival and even our GF table mate felt comfortable with her food options. If you haven't been to Jubilations, or haven't been in a while -- take your chances and give it a go. For more than 3 hours of entertainment, good food, and great company, it's definitely worth the investment! read more

I have been an avid goer for over 20 years. I was extremely disappointed!!! We went this Wednesday, March 23 for my mothers birthday;Food was gross, service horrible!!!!!! And the show was very below par. My family group of 10, none of us enjoyed our food, and had the exact same thought towards the show and service. The 4 children all ordered root beer floats, my mother and I ordered a bottle of wine each, then there was one ice tea and my brother-in-law ordered a scotch on the rocks, my mother and I got our bottles of wine after 20 minutes of seating, kids got their root beer floats within 25 minutes of seating, it took my brother-in-law's simple scotch on the rocks over 30 minutes to arrive. We were told the bar was super busy and they forgot about it. We, our family group of 10, thought it would be fun to go for my upcoming birthday this June for Greased, but we've all decided to pass. Good venue for dinner and entertainment with family or friends, depending on the show you're catching. The entertainment is the best part; all the waitstaff are dressed up and in character as part of the show. They interact with you and each other, never breaking out of character. It's quite fun and amusing to watch. Service was great and timely too. Keep in mind tip has not been included in your ticket or meal. The food was average, to be generous. The whole 3-course mail was bland and my prime rib tasted a bit freezer-burned. I suppose the bland food is to cater towards large crowds though.
