Coffee: 0/5 Customer Service: 5/5…read more I was staying in the area and wanted to walk around the neighborhood and get some coffee. I found that TCS had great reviews and I was excited because I saw Vietnamese coffee on the menu -one of my favorites! I was so disappointed when I walked up to a ghost kitchen! Lol that's on me, I should have done more research but it was comical because I was walking around confused looking for a coffee shop, silly me. The Vietnamese coffee was atrocious. The folks running this place have never had a proper Vietnamese coffee in their life if this is what they're ok with serving customers. The condensed milk wasn't mixed in and the espresso tasted like cardboard. Maybe their other coffee offerings are better but this completely missed the mark. I really don't like complaining but after receiving my cup of disappointment, I called to complain and the manager immediately refunded my card (without me asking) and asked if there was another drink he could make, which I politely declined. He was extremely apologetic and handled the situation extremely professionally and I commend him for that!

Thankfully, it seems like The Coffee Showroom was on site and assisted fairly quickly with my order. I was overwhelmed by the amount of espresso blends they offered and tried really hard to not spend $8 on a double shot of the experimental espresso with the name "Onyx" in it. Instead, I opted for their "modern" option and added coconut milk to make it a latte. The coffee was fruity, as described. I'm not sure if it was missing a component or if I just needed to try a different roast, but it wasn't my favorite. I'll give them another shot (no pun intended) and probably try to justify paying so much for their experimental blend. The barista, who seemed like the owner, was also incredibly sweet. Maybe I'll also order from a place I saw called "Cochinita Queen".

**A Calm but Limited Coffee Experience in Brickell**…read more Soca Smart Cafe is a new coffee shop in Brickell that offers a calm and inviting atmosphere. With soft music, plenty of comfortable seating, it's perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee with friends, reading a book, or getting some work done. On the coffee front, the quality is great. However, all food and coffee are prepared with a to-go mindset, likely due to the limited kitchen area. This means your croissant comes in a bag and your coffee in a paper cup, which detracts from the appeal of enjoying your coffee there. Food options are quite limited, consisting mainly of pastries, pre-packaged salads, and sandwiches. Don't expect freshly made food here. All in all, if you can look past the to-go packaging for everything, Soca Smart Cafe is a great option. However, there are better coffee shops in Brickell if you're looking for a more traditional cafe experience. **My Criteria:** 5 stars: The best food I have ever had, or an excellent option given the price. 4 stars: Good food, a restaurant I look forward to trying again. 3 stars: Good food, a restaurant that I am indifferent to. 2 stars: Below average experience, will not go again. 1 star: This restaurant should be closed.

I finally decided to try it today and unfortunately was left disappointed. I walked in and looked at the sandwiches and wraps in the case and then the menu. The menu feels limited to me. They offer the basic types of coffee, 3 types of tea, and 3 smoothies. They also offer bottled juices, 4 pastries, a few empanadas, and a cookie. They have a small selection of other goods for purchase - a local chocolate bar, local hazelnut cups, their coffee, and a Soca mug. I ordered a cappuccino (no different flavors available from what I could tell. None were offered to me or on the menu) and attempted to order a chicken Caesar salad. They told me they were out, so I ordered a spinach mozzarella empanada, a four cheese and bacon empanada, and a pistachio croissant. The cappuccino was...a cappuccino. Nothing special. You have to add your own sugar or stevia. The croissant had a yummy pistachio cream on it, but there was too much of it for me. It was just too sweet (and I have a big sweet tooth). I haven't tried my bacon and four cheese empanada yet, but my spinach and mozzarella empanada was underbaked and doughy on the inside. It tasted good, but being served raw dough isn't my jam. I decided not to take my bacon and four cheese empanada to go because the spinach and mozzarella empanada sat heavy in my stomach. The ambiance was pretty generic coffee shop in my opinion, but it was nice. It felt sophisticated. There is an upstairs with a few chairs, a coffee table, and a comfy leather couch. The service was ok. Not bad, not great. This coffee shop seems like a decent option for the guests of the hotel it's attached to, but not much else. If you walk 10 minutes into Brickell from Soca, there are a host of other (and better) places that serve coffee. I didn't dislike this place necessarily, but I was disappointed. Therefore, I probably won't be back and wouldn't recommend it to a friend unless they didn't want to walk 10 minutes to Rosetta or Starbucks.

It had almost a 5 star rating on Google and yelp and we were already walking around Wynwood, so we gave it a shot. It's very small inside so we're glad we were able to get a table but service is slow as many others have mentioned. I didn't mind very much, everyone was very very nice. The interior is beautiful, I loved the painted cafeteras hanging from the ceiling and the beautiful cigar area was a nice touch! However, my son and I split a burger and it was not only very undercooked (we ate it anyway and dreading that decision) but it was a tiny piece of meat for the amount of bread. I mean I should know better than to order a burger at a Cuban restaurant but their dish options were already very limited and feeding a 9 year old boy, well burger it is. We also got the ham croquettes. Not sure if I got the wrong ones but they tasted more of cheese than any ham. I'm going to assume they gave me the wrong croquettes but it was mostly cheese and while a good flavor, not at all what I expected. Not to mention, for just the 2 of us they add a 20% gratuity that isn't mentioned at first and hardly assumed for a party of 2. But, that's Miami for ya! For the kindness of the servers, I'd give 5 stars but because the food was not what I expected at all, it's 3 stars for us.
