It didn't disappoint with a half chicken, rice, potato salad and a drink. The chicken was delicious, better than EPL. The rice was chicken flavoured, don't worry, it's tasty. Have to say, rather disappointed with today's visit. Been going here for years and the food is usually pretty consistent. Ordered a Mini-Pak to go. When I got it home not only was the styrofoam box smashed and chicken flattened from all the items placed on top but the chicken was overcooked, extremely dry and tasteless. When I got a piece that tasted like chicken jerky, well I stopped eating it. Don't get me wrong, I like jerky, just not for an entree. So today was a waste of money as I'm making something else to eat. I'll think twice about coming in again. I used to love this place and would always get food from there for every birthday party or any other celebration we were having. Now I don't think I'm ever going back. We got two orders of the two chickens with the large side of potato salad and my husband trusting that they had given him the right order, took off without verifying. Well we didn't get to open the second side order the day of the purchase and obviously didn't find out that they have given us a side of rise instead of potato salad. My husband called and spoke to someone that told him to just go by and to bring proof of purchase. My husband declined the receipt because we usually get a verification of purchase through his credit card. When he arrived to the restaurant the person helping him out made him feel as if he was trying to get free food from them. She kept asking for a physical receipt and he didn't have one, he didn't get one because he didn't expect to get the wrong thing. She gave him such a hard time and to make matters worse didn't even give him the size of the salad he was supposed to get. She gave him the small one and reprimanded him for not going back the day of the purchase to correct the mistake, was she going to pay for my gas? If people have to verify food every time they purchase something then they are not doing a good job. Our mistake was not checking there and also at home. She didn't have the right to treat him the way she did. We buy over 70 dollars of food every time we go. We weren't trying to get anything free. The food is good. What I don't understand is that I placed a mobile order and I was told my food will be ready in 15 minutes. When I got there in 20 minutes I went inside and the lady told me to go outside and get in the line with people who are waiting to place their orders I ended up in line and waiting for people to place their orders. I spoke to a customer who was waiting in line to order she let me get in front of her. It took another 15 minutes to get my food. As I was walking into El Polo Loco, a friend told me to turn around and head to Juan Pollo. I was reluctant because I didn't want to waste my lunch driving 10 min to Juan Pollo. So, I drove anyways and wow, it was worth it. When I ordered at Juan Pollo, the food was brought out to me in about 2 minutes, fast! I had the 2 piece White Meat meal. The price was descent. The chicken was so soft and tender it just melted in my mouth. The chicken was like one of those Listerene Thin strips. No chewing required you could just touch the meat and it came off the bone. No forks were even needed. The chicken rice was really good and flavorful. The salsa was goood. Juan Pollo is one of the best chicken places I ever had, I will definitely come again. So, I was a bit hesitant to enter into this location on a Saturday night as the surrounding area is a bit questionable and the store itself looked vacant and unwelcoming. He ordered the Mini Pak-- a whole chicken with a medium order of beans, pollo rice, potato salad, salsa, and corn tortillas for about $13.50. Good thing we came in to carry out as the sitting area was a bit questionable as well. As soon as we got home, my boyfriend wanted to tear into the bag. I was still hesitant and fearful of contracting hepatitis A or some other food borne illness. With eyes closed shut and a prayer, I took a bite of a chicken leg. OH. SWEET. BABY. JESUS. Yes, the rotisserie chicken is legit. They keep the chicken whole right until you order. Right before the hand it off to you, they cut up in perfectly without disturbing the succulent meat and tasty skin. The pollo right is decent as well as the beans. But I put my money on the potato salad and salsa. The potato salad isn't your average picnic grub-- it has other flavors to elevate the dish-- finely chopped olives and plenty of eggs. I do believe I tasted a hint of cilantro as well. The salsa (we got the hot one) lived up to it's name-- it's actually quite hot. It creeps up on you and hits the back of your throat. And I do believe it's the first time I've seen diced carrots in salsa-- which isn't a bad thing. So, my advice to you-- order to carry out and get ready to dive in all within the luxury of your own home. It's worth your while, trust me. read more

I like this place.It's not far from my house and you can get a half chicken dinner with all the fixens for under 9 bucks, including a drink.The chicken is moist and tasty and I love their rice and salsa. An older lady is always there and takes my order and then the workers in the back fill it in like 2 minutes and I'm out the door. Works for me as I usually go here late at night for dinner after a busy day and I just want my dinner and to get home.
