Starving because I had to drop off and accompany my friend to a surgical center in the building next door, I decided to have my late lunch here. A friend of mine loved to go to Juan Pollo in Covina location. Not sure if they're franchise or individually operated. I ordered the 2 pieces leg and thigh chicken with 2 side order meal with no drink. The cost is $10.99 plus tax. I chose rice and green salad for my side. The portion is not bad at all and I left feeling full! I couldn't even eat the green salad and only ate 1 out of 3 tortillas. Basically I gobbled everything up and I dont know if it's because of the starvation, but I loved how juicy both chicken pieces were. One big downside for me was how oily these chicken pieces were. Way too oily for my liking and I was honestly questioning it whether they roasted or deep fried the chicken given the amount of oil on my plate. But the meat part is definitely juicy! Way too hungry to think much, I just removed the skin and toss them aside. The rice is definitely different unlike other rice in similar restaurant. It's flavored with chicken pieces, green onions and other seasonings that make this bowl of rice special. There's lots of parking so I dont think parking is gonna be an issue. The establishment can be a bit cleaner but I love how friendly and courteous the staffs were. They greeted each customers coming in and out. I would come back again especially for the chicken and rice but I would probably ask if they can make mine less oily. read more

This is a solid chicken place, and the potato salad is where it's at - with carrot slices, olives - really unique and yummy. Service is always good here and food comes out quickly. Their hot and regular salsa complements well with breast/thigh meal that I get, add $1 for a soda. I've tried their burritos, hard shell tacos, soft tacos - all of which are decent; but I'll avoid the nachos - it's not in the style I enjoy and veers towards a bit dry for me. read more

The team is really nice here. My mom comes in here from time to time and they're really sweet and patient to her. She'll ask when the fresh chickens are coming out and will willingly wait. She'd like to pick the chickens out herself if she could and the pieces. She'll ask for that senior discount too without question, but they're really nice. One day she had a price mixup on a promo price she saw. She was ready to try the ontario store to see if the price was different and called the ontario store from inside this store. They explained to her all promos are streamlined so no store offers different prices. So unfortunately for her the price got raised from the last time she saw it. They could no longer honor the price, but they showed her some extra love on the order which made her really happy plus gave her the freshest pieces. My husband and I stopped to pick up lunch yesterday as we were passing through Chino. We've gotten take-out from Juan Pollo many times, but this my first review. We got Juan's big burrito with chicken. It was decent, but there wasn't much flavor. The salsa definitely helped. Their potato salad is always good and never disappoints. Few chickens out there taste so intensely of chicken than those pulled from the rotisserie at Juan Pollo. There are citrusy birds and herbaceous birds and heavily sauced birds, but Juan Pollo serves up chicken qua chicken. The skin is really too perfect for a fast food place. But if there is one gripe, it is the result of the entire chicken being treated as one single ingredient, so that when the dark meat reaches perfection, the white meat has been overcooked for a long time. But that's easy enough to ameliorate: order only thighs and legs. As for the sides, they offer a three card Monty of side dishes; two are transcendent, one is banal. You'll want to select the rice and potato salad, leaving the beans back in their pot where they belong. The potato salad consistently wins over everyone who tries it, myself included, though I'm not sure why. From what I can tell, it's essentially cold mashed potatoes with heaps of mayo and scant bits of canned black olive, green onion and shaved carrot, yet it continues to reach the ideal for potato salad every time. You really never want to eat potato salad prepared any other way. And the rice, imbued with chicken bits and bullion is such an Umami attack, it's really not surprising that this regional chain was founded by a Japanese American. The founder, the late Albert Okura, was something of an original. If you visit the Chino location, all the Juan Pollo heritage is tacked up on the wall for your wonder and amazement. You can see how they used to throw parades and hold Miss Juan Pollo beauty pageants. Okura even purchased the town of Amboy with the intention of turning it into a Route 66 amusement park. Okura led the life of a local legend. Ps. When asked whether you want hot or mild salsa, always select hot. It is, after all, a classic tomatoey Cal-Mex style salsa, therefore not really all that hot - yet still delicious. This might only be my preference, but I think their food goes better with flour tortillas rather than corn, so I suggest selecting flour, although this may only be a matter of opinion. read more

Stopped by to pick up some potato salad ,in my opinion Juan Pollo has the best potato salad in regards to fast food, grocer potato salads . Quarter tub of potato salad was enough for us and it taste very good. They have many food items on the menu.The service was courteous and friendly, and we received our order in no time. (Jan. 30/25) I've been to this establishment plenty of times and have finally left a review. The establishment is easy to find and there is plenty of parking for you. When walking in, the place is always very clean and the staff is quick to greet you and help you with your order. Today, I was served by Andrea and Josh who are fantastic hosts and really make you feel welcome. They know I usually get my favorite entree and one I'd recommend to everyone called the "soft taco platter" and it's three soft tacos served with chicken, lettuce, cheese, and tomatoes. I always like to get my tacos with extra cheese and tomatoes. They also have this very tasty "spicy cayenne pepper sauce" that is a great compliment to any of the dishes there; especially the tacos that I frequently get to enjoy. I get the 75 cent portion because I enjoy it so much. The food is priced well for the quality and the amount that you're getting. Additionally, I want to make a shout out to Ariél for consistently making the food with quickness and according to my modifications. He even remembers me from times before and is ready to make my hearty entree with ease. Although, there may not be enough room on the inside to fit a large party, there is also seating on the outside on their location for you to enjoy as well. My navigation directed me to the old address, after not locating it I happen to see their sign across the street. The correct address is 5460 Philadelphia Ste J. I was visiting 10 clients in Montclair so I took my order to go. The new location is tricky to find but free parking is provided. I ordered the family pack to go - 3 chickens, beans, rice, potato salad and 2 liters of soda. I found out this location is still owned by the original owner of Juan Pollo so I had high expectations. The chicken was fresh, plumpy and the sides were plentiful and yummy. I was given paper plates and plastic utensils and there was enough food to feed everyone.
