A lot of times it seems it is made to be hot for hot sake, not necessary for great taste. With that out of the way, we came in for an early Sunday lunch. The staff was friendly but clearly still learning the ropes on the new place. I'm sure they will get better with time. Had the mild 5-piece tenders. The tenders were cooked well, juicy and had the right amount of heat and flavor. The beans were really good, but thought the slaw was a little too sour for my liking. Overall I thought the tenders and sides were a little small for the price. There is a bar which is unusual for a chicken place like this so that may appeal to some customers. It's an order at the counter place with a handful of high top tables. My biggest pet peeve about restaurants is when the floor is slippery from mopping with greasy water. Unfortunately that was the case here. It's a unique restaurant for downtown so I'm sure I'll try it again.

Finally found them in a neighborhood market pop-up a couple of days ago...sweet! Ordered pork, ribs, and, of course, brisket. Also got their potato salad, cole slaw, and baked beans. They also added in some of their sausages for us to try as well. Here is a tip - if you want brisket, go early. I got the last of their brisket and the pop-up market was only halfway through! Took everything home and we had a FANTASTIC dinner. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, was good! It's crazy!! Party of 6 in our group and everyone loved it! Everyone had different favorites, but all agree everything was excellent. Going to have to hunt down that food truck again soon!

These two plates easily fed us- 2 adults, 1 teenager, and 1 little girl. So, I get we got an excellent value for our money. Portion sizes are generous and the prices are excellent! The potato salad was the way we like it - mustard and pickles - so good. We both had the mixed plate combo with ribs and chopped pork- they give you 5-6 ribs so come hungry. The bbq sauce is a vinegar base and was delicious- not overly vinegary so delicious. A local hidden gem worth the trip for sure.
