We stopped to grab a bite while my hubby plugged our car in my son and I grabbed dinner. It looks super new, clean and service was fabulous and food was even better; cooked to order. I tried the club and he got the kids hot dogs with broccoli for both. Broccoli was flavorful and the sandwich was big enough to share half with hubby.

Wait 10 Minutes just to be looked over and skipped . I literally walk around the whole place and son waiting to be served while another family walks up and they fall over themselves .

This place just opened on Wednesday. Very spacious and bright inside. Lots of employees, but only two servers with a trainee. Service was good. Especially since they are all new. We ordered a patty melt with fries and a veggie omelet. Both were over cooked a bit. Nothing spectacular.

This Diner was recommended by our hotel in Vance. The diner has been opened for 6 months. We read a couple of negative reviews on it and weren't going to try it but the ladies at the hotel said it was very good so we decided to give it a try and I am glad we did not follow those reviews. It was VERY good! When you enter the diner you are greeted by the bakery counter. We will get to that later. It is a large diner with tables or you can eat at a counter on a stool. The place is immaculate. We were greeted by our server Taylor D. She was so sweet. We ordered the meatloaf, which was a nice healthy serving and it was delicious! Our side dishes were mashed potatoes and gravy (homemade with skins and some nice soft chunks mixed in with brown gravy, they were delicious!), collard greens (which were very tasty), and the BEST fried green tomatoes around. The meal came with a cheese biscuit as well. Even the iced tea would make any southerner happy. Like I said, the young lady who waited on us was Taylor. She was so sweet and attentive to us. We had a couple of nice conversations with her. Be sure to ask for her. After we demolished our meal, we decided we were stuffed but could not resist ordering some dessert to take back to the hotel. It was a difficult choice, but we selected a slice of strawberry cake and coconut cake. Taylor said that her favorite was the original cheesecake but we went with the cake. They were nice sized slices (I forgot to take a picture BEFORE we ate them). The strawberry cake was moist and the icing was just right. Delicious! The coconut cake was the winner in my book. Oh my WORD it was so good. It was so moist and the coconut mixed icing was amazing! It paired very well with coffee. My hubby and I split and shared desserts. Husband's meal was $10.99 with 2 sides and mine was 11.99 because I added a third side. I highly recommend you try Sadie's Diner in Vance. You will not be disappointed.

Scrambled eggs with o ions, red potatoes coneca sausage, bacon, on top of house mayonnaise, topped with fried oysters and jalapeño. It was busy this morning, as it was a Sunday, but we were seated quickly and waited on promptly. This is a massive location. A lot of seats and a lot of people working. Food was good. Highlight was the homemade jam which was so spectacular I wanted to dunk everything in it. Breakfast plate was good. I didn't get my eggs as ordered (asked for sunny side up and got scrambled) and I tried the smoked sausage, which is a meat option, but it wasn't very good quality sausage and possibly over smoked? I usually like smoked sausage and this wasn't it. Benny was very good and the biscuit was spectacular which, in Alabama, is an important thing. Will be back again, and will definitely think of taking visiting guests for breakfast here. A good addition to the lineup.

After 15 mins- we were told ANOTHER 10 mins... meanwhile, waiting the last 10 mins there were 4 tables sitting empty by the front where we were standing.. The blond girl at the front was very robotic, no smile, no greeting, seemed annoyed to be there. You couldn't hear her calling the party's names. Not the person you want as the first representative of your establishment. When she finally called us and brought us to the table, asked "how many in your party?" How can you not know? You JUST PAGED US! It's on the iPad in your hand! We said 5, she gave us 3 menus... seriously? The server was awesome and cheerful. The food was amazing. But again ... customer service. 2 plates came out, 5 mins later 2 more plates, 5 mins later the last plate. Why is our food not coming out all together? We ask for the check and get it promptly, but it took another 10 mins for her to come pick it up... Lots of room for improvement for the customer service end of it, and even though the food was absolutely delicious, it wasn't enough to outshine the poor initial impression with the lack of hostess skills and wait time.

But even though there is a lot of parking, there is also a lot of people, so snag a space if you see it and walk a few extra steps, if you can. There was a short wait when we arrived that was approximately 15 minutes. We opted to sit at a table outside. It was a sunny day, but could have been a bit warmer to enjoy outside more. The outside seating has a great view of a river, which is nice. Our serve was Alana and she was extraordinary! She was attentive, has great recommendations, is very witty and funny and has fantastic people skills! Looking around at the other table she was serving, they were equally as happy with her service. I ordered a southern scramble and a side of lemon blueberry ricotta pancakes. Those pancakes stole the show. Everything tasted great but I didn't put much of a dent in the scramble as it is a good size portion and the pancakes deterred me from eating more! Lol! Overall wonderful experience and I would come back again!

The Farmhouse: Where Breakfast Comes Home to Roost…read more If you've read my reviews before, you know I'm not a particularly hard-boiled egg to crack. I don't demand gold-plated cutlery or waiters who can sabre a champagne bottle with a flourish. Give me solid food, a smile that doesn't feel forced, and a room that looks like it's seen a vacuum this decade, and I'll be happier than a biscuit in gravy. That said, The Farmhouse didn't just meet my expectations--it pulled a full-on "Avengers Assemble" and brought them together in a satisfying, bacon-scented breakfast epic. First impressions? Think "Little House on the Prairie" meets "HGTV on a budget"--rustic charm with just enough polish to let you know someone actually tried. The tablecloths are hanging on by a thread (literally), but the space itself is clean, comfy, and as inviting as grandma's front porch. Judging by the bustling Friday morning crowd, I'd say I'm not the only one who got the memo. The service? Friendlier than your favorite aunt at a church potluck. The staff had that rare balance of attentiveness without hovering. There's a sign on the wall that reads, "Come in a stranger, leave as a friend." I half-expected them to follow it up with "You've got a friend in me," Toy Story-style. Now, onto the reason we're all here: the food. Spoiler alert--it didn't disappoint. Mom ordered the Farmhouse Southern Omelette with home fries and gave it rave reviews. She praised the bacon-to-veggie ratio like it was a fine wine pairing and declared the seasoning "just right," in her best Goldilocks impression. The home fries? House-made and heart-warming. My wife went full Southern with the Hearty Breakfast, and it did exactly what it said on the menu--hearty enough to power a tractor and delicious enough to make you consider canceling lunch. She gave special kudos to the biscuits and gravy, which she claimed were "fluffy, creamy, and possibly blessed." As for me, I went for the Big Moo--a 10-ounce ribeye with eggs and a rogue pancake that snuck onto my plate like it was auditioning for dessert. The steak was a tad undercooked but well-seasoned enough that I didn't mind. And the tater tots? Crispy, golden nuggets of joy. I'd pair them with everything if society would let me. I was so pleased, I channeled my inner Ratatouille critic and requested a word with the chef. Chef John greeted me with the kind of genuine smile that says, "Yes, I do get up at 4 a.m. to make magic happen, and no, I don't regret it." He welcomed us back like old friends--which, by the vibe of the place, we might just be now. This, dear reader, is what I imagined when I dreamed of Alabama mornings: honest food, kind people, and a sense that somewhere nearby, a rooster might actually be crowing. The Farmhouse isn't trying to reinvent breakfast--it's just doing it right. To paraphrase The Godfather: Just when I thought I was out (of room), they pulled me back in--with another bite. Bravo, Farmhouse. Never change!
