So, after working with him for over a year, I think a review update is in order. Everything I said in my original review is still true. I am not going to repeat them here; please see the original review. What has become more and more clearly after interacting with him for over a year is that ZAC TAKES CARE OF MY YARD AS IF IT'S HIS OWN! He does a lot of extra things and he doesn't even charge me for them. Yesterday, I came home and found Zac on all fours on my front yard weeding! For one thing, it was a 80 degree day. Also, he is NOT even expected to put out the weeds. I learned that he had been doing that without telling me because my house is on a corner lot and is very visible to people who walk by. So, Zac is not only knowledge and good at what he does but also very passionate about what he does. I could not possibly ask for more from him. I've hired M & M Home Repair twice: March 2019 and January 2021 to fix broken backyard fence both…read moretimes. Here are pros & cons and my advice if you are thinking of hiring them. PROS + Mike tries to address the cause of the problem. I have lost a total of 7 fence posts in the past 5 years because they rot. Mike used the Rotbloc Wrap to prevent the posts from rotting under the ground. + Mike was able to give me a free estimate and repaired my face. There were delays but he did it in the end. I tried to get a quote from big names in town, but I couldn't. CONS -Both times when I hired Mike, there was a problem with details, some big, some small. First time (2019), his crew fixed my fence but didn't do a good job. He had to come back to fix it himself. Second time (2021), I notice that one of the posts was longer and a few of them were shorter than other posts. He fixed the post that was too long, but there was nothing that could be done with the two posts that are too short (by about 6 inches). ADVICE *Make sure to inspect the site when they are done to make sure everything looks good. *Get quotes from other contractors. I found out later that a Yelper friend of mine in town hired a different contractor and paid less than half of what I paid. I could be comparing apples and oranges, but both he and I had 4 posts replaced in January 2021. Send me a private message if you want to know who my Yelp friend used. *Pay cash/check. There's a 3.9% processing fee for credit card payments. Overall, I'm happy with M & M, and I think I will use them again. His price was very reasonable and he was up front on the work needed. We ended up doing a lot more work to the house with Mike since the work he was doing was great and we were happy. A few of the things we did: Painted house ext. changed flooring in 2/3 of our home, painted house int. Fixed a moldy wall. Amongst lots of other small changes and fixes. Will recommend!

Shortly after complaining to the Pro Grass company about their workers urinating behind the garage.. at least that's what it looked like... and the fact that when they turned around it was obvious they were putting Mr Winky back in his hiding place; anyway.. after that complaint they started blowing all the yard debris onto my front porch area. This is sooooo unprofessional. I would not recommend Pro Grass for any business especially if there are young.. and older.. children running around.. which there are and were plenty when the obscene displays were happening. I cannot stress enough that I don't trust them and I'm certainly not recommending them.

One of Compete Tree Care's competitors quoted us 3x the amount to remove the tree and they were not willing to grind the roots afterward because the equipment was "too big to get through our fence's gate." His website includes the logo of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), making it appear that he is an ISA Certified Arborist. You can verify the ISA credential on their website. On the same site, you can find actual ISA Certified Arborists in Whatcom County. Obviously hiring someone with this certification is no guarantee that you will have a good experience. But if you're searching for someone to work with, finding someone that represents themselves honestly is probably a good place to start.

Not only did he arrive right on time, he spent an hour explaining what my project entails. I was quite impressed with his knowledge and his ability to communicate. It soon became apparent that the project would cost more than I have budgeted, but Brian was still very willing to answer all the questions that I had. He gave me a soft bid right away and also took pictures of my yards so that he will have all the information he would need when I decide to go forward with this project in the near future (hopefully next year). I've had a fair share of hiring contractors, and it's almost always stressful. Quite a few of them don't even return your calls. It was refreshing to know there are still companies like Windwood that respect customers even during a very busy season. So, they deserve 5 stars! I know who to call next time I need a landscaper.

Roy also came out and installed a tarp over our leaking roof and offered a refund of the tarping so we select him as our roofer. None of the other people we contacted despite promising to come and place a tarp on our roof showed up. We signed with Roy. The job was done efficiently. Roy supervised all work. His crew was very polite and always cleaned up the job site everyday. He also installed additional venting holes in the soffits so our ventilation is up to current standard.
