Our family's pick for kimchi. We also love their banchans - we recently tried pickled spicy oysters and while those were a bit spicy for our taste but it was still fresh & yummy!

JS Kitchen by Jang Su Jang in Duluth, GA, is a true gem. I stopped by after work and ordered the chicken teriyaki lunch box, and it was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The purple rice was good and reminded me of Hmong purple sticky rice and the miso soup was rich, warm and full of flavor. The kimbaps were freshly made and tasted amazing. The portions were incredibly generous and fed 4 people!

Bibimbop was amazing

I love JS Kitchen! Whenever we're craving easy Korean meal with variety of side dishes, we order from here. They have different bento box options daily so you can call to check the menu or check out their Instagram. Bento boxes are great for meal planning, quick lunch, team lunch, and events. They also have catering option for bigger events. If you're into specific side dishes, you can also purchase it by weight and they also offer variety of soup options. In short, whatever you're looking for as far as Korean sides, this is the spot. Oh and can't forget the delicious and healthy purple rice! Some of my other favs here are the kimbop, bibimbop, bentos, fried squid, and more! I heard that JS Kitchen will now be available on UberEats and DoorDash for those that needs a quick delivery option as well!

Great Togo restaurant! The bento boxes are fresh and very filling. I definitely recommend! The kimbap here is my favorite!

Chicken Teriyaki Box (치킨 데리야끼 런치박스)

This is a 10/10. Pushed me out of my comfort zone but was a great experience. Great price, quick, and amazing quality.

Great food quality, prepared my Togo order quickly. The donkatsu was delicious and crispy, the large variety of side dishes complimented the plate well and were all fresh and good quality.

4/22 spicy!

Bonchun ++. Ambiance is is clean, spacious and modern albeit located in the outer shops of the Gwinnett Mall on Satellite. +++. JSK specializes in prepared Korean condiments and limited meals / lunch specials. I tried several condiments to go. They were authentic and exceptional. They have a good variety of bonchun that are not found in restaurants. JSK does NOT use MSG! ++ Traditional kimchi was medium fresh, moderate heat and full of textures. +++ Cucumber kimchi was my favorite! These were sliced thin like pickles rather than chunkier stuffed ones. ++. Squid and scallions were interesting in a good way +++. Purple rice was delicious! It's rare for me to like everything from one place, but JSK nailed it. Unless you have someone who makes traditional Korean Bonchun varieties beyond kimchi and kongnamer, this is as good as it gets. Can't wait to try their lunch specials. +. Price is on the high side. Figure ~ 2X to 4X Hmart $. ++. Service was very pleasant. One of the owners spoke fluent English and while the woman behind the counter spoke limited English, she was friendly and helpful. +. Parking is free and shared. JSK's bonchun are spectacular! Only thing I would suggest is that they stop using styrofoam containers. Other than that JSK is nearly perfect. MY RATINGS - - - Inhumane - - Disgusted - Don't bother = Missed the Mark + Good ++ Better +++EDIBLE...WHERE have you been all my LiFe!

This is a banchan (side dish) shop but they have limited lunch bento boxes. They have a different menu everyday. When I saw the bento box, I was so surprised how colorful and by the variety of different food to eat from. It was very filling, but didn't feel overly heavy. There was rice, japchae, portein(pork cutlet), tempura sweet potato, cucumber, kimbap (fried with egg) , potato salad, and, rice cake. Everything tasted fresh and like a home cooked food . The price was reasonable for so much yummy food. The food in the bento boxes changes daily~ The kimchi was sooooo good here!!! This spot was very delightful because it felt like home and the owner/worker were so sweet and attentive. Please note that there is limited seats.

By far one of my favorite takeout spots in Duluth. I can't believe my first visit wasn't until COVID times but also glad because I really appreciated the takeout aspect much more. Banchan, kimbap and bento boxes?! They've got it all. Everytime I'm in Duluth, I make an effort to stop by if it's still early in the day. Make sure to stop by earlier than later to make sure all the fresh banchan or options you want are still available. I love so many of the banchan - it's freshly made and packaged based on how much you want - there are various plastic container sizes to choose from. Since it's just me, I tend to go for the smaller sizes. I love the lotus root and cucumber kimchi the best! However, there are always specials like the japchae that I can't say no to when it's fresh! I love the purple rice they use in the bento boxes! Not only is it super pretty but also healthy and tasty with the meat and banchan. Speaking of bento boxes, the menu changes daily, so I usually walk in and order whatever they have. However, it is quite a wait since the boxes are assembled fresh to order, so I definitely recommend ordering or calling ahead if possible (even though I've never tried either method before). The kimbap is used with the same purple rice and good god it's delicious - and SUPER Insta! I don't want to share because I want it all to myself - but everything is so delicious and affordable that I don't want them to shut down either. They don't seem to have a problem with business, as there is always at least one or two customers in there, even during random hours. Let's be honest... I'm just counting down the days until my next visit!

Beef Patty lunch box

I was craving Korean food and I'd heard for a long time this place was good for catering, banchan and bento boxes. And they own Jang Su Jang restaurant so you know they've gotta be good! The place is very clean, neat and well-organized. They have a kitchen too for cooking demos. Today's bento options were beef patty and pork bulgogi. I was craving beef bulgogi so I got the beef patty and very glad I did - it had the bulgogi flavor so it completely satisfied by craving, and it had mushrooms & onions in the patty too. Delicious! Their bentos are really a great deal - for $10, I counted 12 different food items ... I love bentos so much b/c of the variety! And the portion is generous so I had enough leftovers for another meal :) Everything in that bento was top quality, tasty and made with love - in addition to the beef patty, I had purple rice (didn't realize how much I missed it), Korean sweet potato tempura, egg/fishcake/onion on a stick, fried mandu, mussel with roe on top, small dollop of potato salad, broccoli, japchae, zucchini, thinly sliced pickled cabbage and soy sauce beef. They cook your food to order so I waited about 10-min. I scanned the banchan incl. kimchi's and soups behind the display case - all looked very good & fresh. They also sell big containers of fresh kimchi too. See Daniel B's review for pricing. I got a container of the Seaweed Soup for $5.99 - nice clean taste and comfort food for this belly :) I'd love to try their Shabu Shabu - so pretty and I think $15.99. I'll definitely be back - food is delicious, fresh and the $10 bentos are a great deal. FYI they're located in the same strip mall as Paris Baguette.

I've been wanting to try JS Kitchen. I never even went to Jang Su Jang but I should now. I always crave Korean banchans and heard JS Kitchen has really good ones. On a late Friday afternoon, I stopped by. I was overwhelm with everything they offered. Just by looking at the banchans, I was intrugued by the bellflower roots. It looked like mushrooms to me or meat. The lady advised me that it was delicious and has a charcoal grill taste. I got the regular and spicy. I got all the banchans in the small package just to try. Others I got were burdock root, cucumber kimchi, napa kimchi, bulgogi veggies, purple rice, japchae, kelp noodles. Most of the items are weighed except for the japchae and purple rice. The small japchae container was $3 and the purple rice was $1. Japchae is one of my fave Korean food, along with kimbap. The japchae is okay. I've had better. I learned how to make my own and mine is delicious lol. The napa kimchi is average. I would like more flavor. Like japchae, I learned to make my own and I like mine more lol. The purple rice isn't sticky and I'm used to the Hmong purple sticky rice. Now, the bulgogi veggie were good and she gave me two sauces. Mixing it with the purple rice was delicous!! The cucumber kimchi was out of this world. So delicious. The burdock root was a little sweet but good and complimented well as a banchan. The kelp noodles was a little sour but tasty. Now...let's get to the star of all of them. It is the bellflower roots. I like both regular and spicy. If I had to choose, it would be the spicy version. I am blown away by it's smokiness. I am so impressed with how tasty it is. It is like a vegan jerky. I've been wanting to find one but nothing has blown my mind like that. OMG, this is it!!! I love it so much. So much that I went by today but they were all out. I was so disappointed haha. I have to come during lunch time to get their bento boxes. They have veggie and vegan options too! I have to come back and get those bellflower roots, like seriously. 50/2021

Container of Jang Su Jang's "Yum Yum Sauce" (or was it "Yummy Sauce?"). Sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and more. One of JSJ's meat marinades.

It's one of two cake supply stores (of decent quality) in the metro area and my favorite to go to. For one, the pricing isn't too bad. Most of my supplies I get online from various places but if I'm in a bind and need something quick or it will work out to about the same if I ordered online (and added in shipping), I will happily trek up to ISAC. They have a good selection of molds, boxes/boards/drums, color dusts, fondant and candy making supplies. During the holidays (and Easter), there is usually an Open House where Chef Nick, Scott and others will have various demos going on and you can sample some goodies. I've yet to take a class but can't wait to. Time to sharpen the some skills!

We had a phone consultation where we discussed limitations regarding my diet. He went on to explain why I was incorrect in my beliefs and what my natural path doctors instructed. He explained that he has several cancer patients, and they eat the items I listed. The conversation took a twist where he stated that a "personal chef" would mean he would cook for me 6 days a week and I would pay $135k a year instead of him being able to pay a certain ethnic group, I will not say here, to cook. That was just one of the twists. As he continued his combative manner I reached enough, thanked him for his time and hung up. I was in disbelief with my experience speaking with him, however open enough to give him benefit of the doubt, so I called Chef Boyan back to find out if he was trying to help me or simply irritated with the conversation to which he said he did not understand. I tried to explain, and he began to talk over me. When I stated I would no longer be able to talk to him if he continued to talk over me, he said to my utter surprise, because you are stupid.
