Pretty damn good selection and especially helpful staff. My only complaint is it was a bit loud for a cigar lounge, but that could have been because someone had the TV turned too loud to their sport of choice, which was indoor golf of all things! I'm not a fan of the barrel chairs as they're a bit uncomfortable, but it's a small price to pay for everything else you get. read more

I recently started getting into cigars and have been looking around town to stock up on some sticks to age. J's has a nice selection in their walk-in humidor room. They're priced similarly to what I've seen around town in my hunt. I'm still trying to figure out my palate for cigars. The lady behind the counter was friendly and as helpful as she could be. I couldn't give her much to work with. But she tried! read more

Attended an event at J's cigar and the hospitality and selection of cigars are on POINT! had a great time

Great experience shopping at J's for a Christmas present for a friend! Got some great ideas and some cigars that I know he is going to LOVE!! The shop is clean, the customers were very nice and helpful as well. Will definitely go back for future cigar needs. Thank you for making my experience a great one! read more

One of the best selections of sticks in the city. The people are laid back and friendly. The only down fall is no booze BUT you can bring your own. read more

Kept passing by the place on the way to work. So Friday I decided to try them out. Bought four cigars (Tatiana Groovy Blue, Leather Rose, M.J. Frias Cherry Bomb, and GTO sweet tip) and another torch. Went to my event Friday night around 8:30. Opened up my first cigar (GTO) and it unraveled. Wasn't pleased with that because that's the one I wanted most because I haven't had one in a while. I smoked the other two (Tatiana and Leather Rose) which were great. Still have one left (cherry Bomb). The torch worked great though. read more

J's Cigar - a bag of cigars - Tobacco Shops Near Me - Atlanta, Georgia

To agree with everyone else in their ratings, this has to be a favorite of mine for just about anything. And it is all because of Jay. Seriously the one of the nicest persons I have ever met. Warm, friendly, welcoming, and knows his stuff about cigars. Stopped in for a couple of cigars and came out with much more. You actually want to give this guy as much business as possible because of his knowledge and welcoming friendliness. Very good seclection in his huge humidor. Has tvs, leather couches and chairs, and wonderful coffee. I am smoking my cigars as fast as I can so I can go back and visit.. Great Place. Thanks Jay, for this wonderful stop on my business trip. read more

Came in one day to buy a few cigars. I didn't have much knowledge at all but they took me into their huge humidor and explained every type of cigar to me. Great little spot. read more

Excellent selection. Great atmosphere. Umair is a great dude. I'm visiting from El Paso, I'm coming by every time I'm in town.

My pops introduced me to Mr. Jay and J's Cigar, 15 years ago, I had just turned 18. J's Cigar is an amazing place to just chill and meet some awesome people. Mr. Jay is so knowledgeable and friendly, you will leave his place feeling like you've just gained a new friend! read more

I almost never write reviews. But I'm so shocked there aren't more reviews written about J's Cigars, I felt I needed to add to the small pile of Five Stars he's racked-up. Every time I've come, I've been greeted by one of the most pleasant people I've ever met. It is an absolute pleasure to speak with J. He is kind, generous (gave me two free cigars on my very first visit and offered to feed me if I wanted to stick around a bit), gracious, and is always in a great mood with a big smile on his face. There is a reason I'm writing first about the man. J is the best part about coming to buy cigars, which is quite a statement when you consider the other two most important questions you face when you're picking out a place to buy cigars! Let's face it. There are far more places to buy cigars than there were 30 years ago. One consequence of that is competition. Prices tend to be more competitive, because of it. Even prices online are often no better than at a local shop. J's is a perfect example. When you're ready to restock your humidor, price is often your first consideration. Sometimes it's selection, like when there are two or more of you going to grab one or two for a night out or 18 holes. Personally, price wins the war for me over selection, because I can enjoy a variety of smokes. I do have a "regular everyday" cigar, but I also like variety. So, I'm not that bothered when a shop doesn't have the one I came for. J's Cigars wins both wars though, price and selection. Every time I go, there is something on special, and J's always has a large selection. If you're in one of those moods where you don't want to have to make another decision that day, don't come to J's. The selection is like sensory overload. Of course, I'm joking about the not coming. I'm just doing so to make a point. J is always ready to guide you to the right smoke, with just a couple of questions. Are you in the mood for a light or heavy smoke? How long do you want to smoke, one hour? Two? I've lived in Atlanta just more than a year. When I first visited J's, it was my "Eureka" moment. I knew then and there, I wouldn't buy anywhere else. Just like the patience it takes to smoke a fine stick, I'll always drive a few extra miles to come the union of joy from two sources, J and smokes. read more

Atlanta's best kept secret. This is not a cigar shop, but an experience. Jay exudes so much warmth and hospitality it feels like an extension of your living room. Late night smokers he is usually open til the last game is over around midnight. He serves an array of coffee and at times wonderful desserts from scratch that are to die for. You need to experience this place at least one time. read more

As soon as you walk through the door you are immediately a friend of Jay's. I believe he's the owner of the shop. Every time that I've been to the shop, I feel very welcomed. It's a real cozy type of place. I'm not really sure what to write...except that this is a great cigar shop. I kind of wished they served some type of alcohol...but coffee or tea will do. =) read more

Love this place. Jay is one of those people that never meets a stranger. As soon as you walk in the door you really feel like a part of the family. He'll probably introduce you to the rest of his customers, who he knows by name. You just don't find this type of purveyor every day. My only qualm is that they do not sell alcohol. I really enjoy a good stout when I'm having a cigar, but I'll settle for an espresso. Bottom line: The prices are the best in town. The selection is great, and the cigars are well kept. Stop by and introduce yourself, you will be a fan. read more

J's is not your standard tobacco shop. It feels more like a neighborhood spot, minus the alcohol. J the owner makes you feel welcome, and will probably even give you a hug. He actually is a retired engineer and it was his dream to open up this shop. His shop is at the corner of Defoor Hills and Collier, with ample parking and restaurants near-by. Inside the shop is spotless, with leather couches, a flat screen tv, free wifi, tables, and several chess sets laid out. The humidor keeps his stock in good condition and has a large selection (Romeo y Julieta, Montecristo) of great value cigars. There is also a large stock of loose tobacco for pipes he sells them as well. Not sure what else I say- this is a great place for relaxing and getting work done. read more

Gentlemen, you may smoke - King Edward VII of England Highlights: Great selection of cigars, Extremely friendly staff + patrons, Location was easy to find with ample parking and a very relaxed set up. Can improve: The ventilation was lacking so eyes did burn a little and maybe the place needs a little overhaul to make it look a little classy. Benchmark: Not an avid cigar smoker so for me they did a great job. Puff Puff Passed on July 2015 and might stop in for a smoke if in the area. read more

This may be one the greatest cigar experiences in Atlanta. Not only is the humidor well-stocked and rather large, the staff is highly knowledgable and incredibly friendly. On more than one occasion, "J" himself has offered us handmade deserts during our visit. The prices are exactly what they should be. The folks are hospitable. The tv's are large. There's no reason not to visit! Pro-tip: J's is open pretty late. I've popped in after 10pm, even on a Sunday, and enjoyed a smoke with the regulars. read more

Five-star review for the nicest people, friendliest shop and great selection of cigars. I read the yelp reviews in my hotel and set out for a long walk to Jay's shoppe. I walked in, and was greeted with an ice cold bottle of water and a great group of guys. The selection and prices are good but again don't miss the chance to meet J and the guys in the shoppe. Incidentally, after I bought my cigars and started to leave, J offered me a ride back to my hotel. ( thank you Chris, it was farther than I thought. ) You just don't find this kind of place anymore these days... read more

The best place in Atlanta to buy and enjoy cigars. The only place I will buy cigars in Atlanta. J goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and at home. Whether you want to just pick up a few cigars and then leave or stay and catch a game on the big screen, J will make you feel special. I wish I could give this place 6 stars. J's has a great selection and low prices. However, that's not why I keep coming back here. J is one of the friendliest small business owners I have ever met. He is always extremely helpful, kind, generous, and most of all grateful for your business. There is a reason that I drive from Southeast Atlanta all the way up to West Midtown whenever I need to refill my humidor. As a side note, for the bargain-loving cigar enthusiasts like myself, J always has great specials on many "house" cigars that are just as good as the big brands that cost over twice as much. Give it a try! read more

Wow. What an amazing place. Met the owner, J, and he spent 5 minutes getting to know me. We talked cigars, life, and how at the end of the day life is about relationships rather than making a buck. Best prices I've seen anywhere and we were able to watch the game. It's a little off the beaten path but worth it. Highly recommended. read more

Jay is one of the nicest owners you will ever meet in your life! His knowledge of cigars and above all else, his kindness and personality are what keeps me coming back. From the very first day I visited to now, every time I walk in, I'm greeted with a beautiful smile and a comfortable place to indulge in my cigar with no pressure. Did I mention the delicious selection he offers? There' s something for every smoking profile. If you need a home to simply watch a game, and enjoy a beautiful cigar, this is your spot. read more

So, I just have to stop and rave for a moment... Just had the best retail experience I have had in YEARS at a place called J's Cigars on Defoors Ferry Road -- this is a very unassuming little place in a dumpy strip mall. I walked in and wasn't expecting much, but I left thrilled by the experience. I'm VERY new to the concept of cigars and the owner J. Nadimi took about a half hour learning about me and my tastes to help me pick out a few selections he thought I would like. He took time to educate me on the different types and cuts of cigars and even about how they are made. Plus, he loaded me up with several extras (at no charge) he thought I should try. This man completely GETS IT and obviously take a great deal of pride in his shop and his craft. What a treat! read more

Was in Atlanta for work & after reading the Yelp reviews, decided to stop in J's Cigars for a smoke. Good selection & the guy working (I'm assuming the owner) was very friendly & kept checking on me to see if I needed anything. If your traveling for work, you can definitely sit down here & get some emails done on the laptop while enjoying a cigar! I will definitely be back next time I am in Atlanta. read more

Great service! Felt like I was at home. My first cigar lounge experience and i would definitely return. Stop by if you're in the area!

J's cigars are without doubt the best lounge I go to, infact its the only one. J's has the best prices in town. His Padrons are the lowest in the nation! His atmosphere I really like because there are many college students and other young adults who go there, a pleasent susprise for someone who has been to plenty other lounges just saw older men. J's offers free wi-fi for in house smokers, he also has a expresso machine and serves persian tea as well. J also has a selection of pipe tobacco as well. I highly recommend J's cigars if you like to frequent cigar lounges. read more

Great place to enjoy a cigar. I travel quite a bit, and second to The Smoke Shop in Naples, Fl, this place is the best I have been. Very friendly place, great seating, a truly wonderful place to enjoy a cigar! Very large, diverse humidor. All the reports of the owner being friendly and welcoming are very true. I will be back! read more

J's Cigar - Comfortable seating is plentiful, large TV, friendly people, good smokes - Tobacco Shops Near Me - Atlanta, Georgia

My husband is a cigar snob, it is one of his biggest hobbies of sort, we were in Atlanta for the day and he was in the mood for a cigar. We were in the bulkhead area and so I turned to yelp for some info on where to go, after reading all the great reviews we decide to give j's a try. The strip mall is nothing to look at, but it wasn't hard to find at all! Great selection, great prices. and j is a very kind and generous person. I would return! read more

Like this spot! The owner J and his son Riza (hope I'm spelling it right!) And very nice, personable, and very knowledgeable about there products. Had a very laid back lounge and a big well stocked humidor. Talked with them for a good while and enjoyed my new cigar knowledge i received from them. Can't wait to go back and chill and have a smoke with them. Wish they had a bar in there! But I would go back over and over again for the prices and there great service! read more

Actually found this cigar shop on Yelp and what a diamond in the rough! It's a small and quaint spot...in a little shopping center which could easily be missed. The owner was there and he's so helpful and sweet! He even gave us a cigar punch since we told him we were from out of town. Gotta love friendly people...the cigar prices weren't inflated either..definitly a good locally owned business to support! read more

I ventured into this cigar shop as somewhat of a newbie looking to get a further understanding of the cigar world. This shop exceeded every expectation I had in terms of attention and service. J took his time with me and assisted getting my cigar box up to speed, proving a good starter kit of Cigars, and a good knowledge base so that I can begin to explore on my own what I like and do not like. He was beyond gracious, and I can't thank him enough. When I can find the time to go over to his location I will certainly do it. A customer for life from just one visit! read more

We ran across J's Cigars for the first time last night on our way home after a filling dinner. Incredible, incredible service and place. My wife calls it "good juju", it just feels good to be here. We showed up late, maybe 10pm, and were so welcomed it was almost shocking. Jay made us all his amazing fresh coffee and shared some delicious chocolate while we relaxed on his comfortable leather couches, and WOW what an incredible host. Out of our group I was the only one really familiar with cigars, and noticed his humidor has lots of really interesting stuff at great prices. I noticed that one guy who was new to cigars stepped aside to ask Jay if he could give him some pointers before he sat with our group and Jay did a stellar job teaching him how to get started, and making sure he was comfortable with how to light and puff on his cigar. This is such a comfortable, incredible place. I wish we lived closer so I could frequent his shop more often. It is, however, going to be our last stop before going home from here on out. read more

So, I stopped in here in a food-induced coma of delight after my delicious Ssam Burger from next door. As there's a slight ambiance of cigar smell in the restaurant, I presumed (correctly) that it would be pretty strong in there too. However, it was a nice day, and the door was open, so it wasn't too bad. Anyway, as soon as I walked in, I hopped to the humidor, which was MUCH larger and nicer than I would expect in a small shopping center like this. And, after milling around aimlessly for a few moments, someone (I assume Jay) came in and helped. After I explained that I like a very occasional cigar, but don't know/remember name brands, and what kind of style I like, he jumped right on it, and showed me this house brand of cigar he carries there. I'm not stuck on name brands, and I'm not one to burn $10 just for a smoke, so I bought 5, and walked out happy. Once I got home, a few days later, I had occasion (and a full glass of scotch!) to light up. I was not only satisfied, but pleasantly surprised at how nice this store-brand cigar is/was. Once I get down to my last stick, I'll go have a delicious burger/lotus fries, and stop by to see my new friend Jay! On a side note, I've worked retail for years, and know how hard it is to build trust, and help find some people what they're looking for. Not only did Jay do this exactly right the first time, he was genuine, kind, and really seemed to want my business, and for me to return...which I WILL!! I can't say enough for great service, and great local businesses like this, even if I don't get to shop there too often. read more
