I am compelled to write and offer to the local community this review based on my last two business…read moreexperiences with Green Valley Meats. It is unfortunate that I am led to render a very poor review of Green Valley Meats and its business practices. Last year of 2025, my two young boys each harvested their own deer. As part of the meat processing order for each, my boys wanted some breakfast sausage. Sausage was completely blitzed and terribly ruined with oversalting. Not even edible for my family, and an utter waste! February of 2026, I chose to try Green Valley Meats once again with a harvested elk. I am 100% convinced that at least one package of the stew meat that I ordered and received back from Green Valley Meats was NOT from my harvested elk. My elk was harvested with a clean single shot to the high neck area with my .308 caliber rifle. Processing elk in the field I was able to even recover the .308 caliber slug lodged in the high neck area where my shot was placed. The rest of the elk was completely clean and intact with no other wounds such as other gunshot wounds, as I processed the hide of the elk to make an elk hide tan for my daughter. One particular package of stew meat that we unpackaged to prepare for cooking contained a bullet slug in the meat. Bullet slug was from a smaller caliber firearm (definitely not .308). Furthermore, the meat in this same package contained multiple bone fragments, as well as animal hair that did not seem characteristic of elk hair. I addressed the issue in writing to inquire on how their business resolves customer service issues. I was left only with the reply that they are 100% certain that I got what meat was from my harvest, as well as the long-written rundown on how their meat-handling process is impeccable. NOT! I disagree. Regarding their business practices, they only accept cash. They don't perform intake weigh-ins of the harvested body parts (quarters, rib cage, etc.). And they provide no guarantee that you are getting all the meat possible from the harvest, along with no guarantee that what you are getting is from your actual harvest (whether in full or in part). My understanding is that many hunters and people in general are unsure and/or even afraid to take any ype of their harvested big-game animals to meat processing businesses, like Green Valley Meats. For fear of not receiving all that they possibly could from their harvest. And I think even worse beyond that, for fear of not receiving what they actually harvested. Based on my last two experiences with Green Valley Meats, I will never again choose to do business there. I believe that there are some seriously sketchy business practices going on there, where something is not right. My family is out hundreds of dollars cash and left with packaged meat remaining that we are unsure of is even ours from our harvest, as well as not to mention also being possibly left with more packages of unclean meat that may have been poorly and neglectfully handled and/or oversaturated with salt (sodium) making it all inedible. I hope for this review to serve families, community, and fellow-hunters well.
