I've been to St. Augustine too many times to count but have never been in this store. So glad we stopped in. I picked up a couple of magnets with cute sayings to stock up on gifts. You never know when you might get an invite to a birthday or housewarming party. They had unique jewelry including necklaces, earrings, rings and bracelets made of stone or sterling silver. They were also these beautiful fireflies. Some made of stone and some glass. I also saw bath soaps, purses, t-shirts, an octopus clock and other nautical items. He was chatting with Leonard about his projects, and having a good time distracting him from getting his work done, I'm sure, but Leonard was very nice and answered all of his questions. He told us how he makes jewelry and about his different tools, which was fun to learn about. While we were there, Leonard pointed out how delicate my ring had become over the years of wear. It was very thin and starting to separate in places, so reshaping it was tricky. He showed me under a microscope where the ring was worn down. My dad got me the ring in Mexico on my 16th birthday, and I've worn it everyday since then. I'm in my 30's now, for reference...it's been on my hand for over than half of my life. My dad passed away, so I need this ring to last. I asked if he could fix it, and he did me one better: he said he could make a mold of it and create a copy, but make it a bit thicker so it would last longer. That way, I can put my prized ring somewhere safe, but still have one to wear without worrying about it breaking. I just got the new ring back today, and it's absolutely perfect! They have various types of jewelry that are replicas of famous actresses and even replicas of some Tiffany pieces. Some of the gemstones are real, some are not, it just depends on the piece. Some of the jewelry is sterling silver and other pieces are sterling silver plated over rhodium (primarily the rings). I'm not very fond of the pieces that are plated over rhodium because I know it will wear off and turn over time. However, I am quite fond of sterling silver... especially sterling silver earrings. They have quite the selection of sterling silver earrings and the day I was here they happened to having a sale on them and they were all half price. I have misplaced or lost a tie tack that we had bought in Key West a number of years ago. It was made from silver from the Spanish Galleon, Atocha. So she wandered in here and found several for me to look at. By the way, " I found a ring that I really like". She was not wanting me to see the ring though.
