Got a soft opening reservation here for me, my wife, and two kids at 630. Pulling up to the building, I was immediately blown away by how nice the outside looks. Lots of parking and right on the water. We were sat right away and our witnesses's name was Emily. Emily explained the food menu and drink menu to us. Emily was a tentative and spot on! The drinks were very reasonably priced. I was totally expecting at least 30% more than what they were due to the beautiful location that the restaurant is located at. The food also was very reasonably priced. You can get a cheeseburger for nine bucks! My wife ordered the fish and chips which were fantastic! Our kids had the hamburgers and I had parmesan encrusted Angus strip loin which was very good. Throughout our time here, we were approached by several people asking how we were doing, this includes the owner. We never had an empty drink. Overall, this is going to be a major hang out for us now and even more in the summertime seeing we keep our boat at Humbug. Im giving it 4 stars because the food was good. Compliments to the chef. The staff on the other hand was very slow and inattentive. I sat at the bar and watched many people sit after me and be served first. The bartender would constantly apologize and say we were next but then still serve others first. She ended up giving us a free drink that she accidentally made wrong for someone else as an apology? Kinda back handed if you ask me. Do better. read more

worst experience I have ever had. my family was told only a 25 min wait for 6 ppl and we ended up waiting for 1 hour and 45 mins just to never be seated. there were multiple open tables that they had reserved for friends of the manager. Brought my family here tonight, glad I did as this place is great! All Eight (8) of us had something different and we all loved our food. The view of the water and Grosse Isle was good too. We recently went there with another couple to have dinner on Friday around 5. We had the choice of outside in the patio, a booth or table inside. We chose the table. Outside was a tad chilly. The roof inside is the typical open metal with no sound absorption. Pretty loud. Also, there are garage style doors open to the outside, so the table we sat at got a constant breeze of cool air. The bar is full service and they can make anything you like. The Bloody Mary was good and the Moscow mule was ok. A little too "gingery" for me. The food choices were good but not very healthy. Lots of fried items, Mac & cheese, fries with cheese curds and gravy. Our friends got a burger and hamburger sliders. We got blackened swordfish and risotto and chicken piccata. The risotto was fabulous. The swordfish was excellent. Chicken piccata was very good, but not the best I've ever had. Fairly expensive, if you get alcoholic drinks and entrees. Our friends were not interested in going back, but hubby and I will be back! We're seasoned foodies and the pickings downriver are slim. A little tricky to find, but worth the trouble. Ample parking. Very pleased overall. High-end bar food, service has been great, food prepared well for this type of venue, and definitely a place I will come back to. Unique take on calamari, a cream sauce on the daily salmon special was not overwhelming, and veggies were not overcooked. I waited an hour and a half to be seated at exactly 9:45 when the kitchen closed for dinner menu.

The food is ok, pricing is very competitive, the view if you like water and boating is great , the downside is your going to wait up to an hour for a table and if your lucky you may see your food in a hour. Our group was not so lucky , after waiting an hour fifteen minutes for a table, another 20 minutes before a waitress took our orders, then 10 minutes later took our drink orders , 40 minutes passed and she came back and said the kitchen was backed up and just starring our orders, 25 minutes later the food arrived. Let's just say it was OK above average bar food, So if you like bar food and have over 3 hours for dinner , this is your place. To be fair we were told they have staffing issues like most other restaurants, but I have never seen anything like this before. read more

Terrible service - can't comment about the food, because we just sat down after an over 2 hour wait on a Wednesday night ( for a party of 7 - nothing extreme). Very rude hostesses basically told us to take it or leave it - no apologies, no sorry, nothing. Haven't even had any food and already know wild horses dragging me won't get me back to this place. The food and drinks are good and the atmosphere is worth the trip. There's one big issue with a simple solution, however. Lots of families gather here, but there's no baby changing station in either bathroom. Simple solution and we've been asking for a year. Been here twice this past week as we have family in for the holidays. Food was pretty good over the summer but this past week 12/5 had a chicken fried sandwich and it was way over cooked. Chicken breading was like a brick. Another patron had the fish and chips and fish was wet and soggy with beer batter and outside was cooked way to hard. Tried again Friday 12/10. The Christmas atmosphere was really nice at night. My cousin started with Paella and the chicken again not fried but way over cooked. Brocollini on the menu was served as broccoli floret and mushroom duxelles was advertised and it was sautéed mushrooms. I live in area and think it's worth trying but the cooking has been hit or miss since late August. Will be back but the managers may want to check the food a bit better. Showed up here for an early dinner before the big Duck Race in Gibraltar, around 3:45 PM or so. Our party of five waited for maybe 10 minutes or less and were seated outside on the patio. Kathy our SUPERB waitress wasn't even supposed to be working our table and was helping cover for someone else, and she did an absolute fantastic job from taking our drink order all the way until the end of a great meal and bringing us the check! We all loved the food (hamburgers, salmon fajitas, and a steak along with truffle fries and fried pickles as appetizers) and sitting outside right next to the water with ducks and fish right below was a treat unto itself! Had lunch here with friends. Total disappointment as far as food goes...setting was only redeeming factor. Nice location on water and beautiful day to enjoy being out on patio. Husband ordered walleye. It was overcooked, coating bland. His fries were cold. Tartar sauce tasted strange. Cole slaw tasted pretty good but was overly wet. My fried shrimp was rubbery, breading dry and gritty. Like my husband, I found cole slaw too wet but thought it tasted okay. If given opportunity, we both decided we'd come back but would probably order something else. Ordered the perch basket. Breading was heavy and crunchy not what prefer but still tasted good. Coleslaw was outstanding. Very reasonably priced and service was great. I would have given this place four stars if it wasn't for the noise level in the dining room. It was so bad that I was going to leave but I was convinced to stay. We live VERY close bye, but waited to experience the food/service, tried to go there a couple weeks back and waited over 90 minutes and did not get seated, so we left. Then went a little earlier in the day and took our grandchildren there for dinner. Worst eating experience we have ever had. My wife asked how the steaks were cooked, medium to medium-well, server went on to tell her cooks mess up steaks and even burgers, should have left right then. But, we gave them a chance...big mistake. When our food was delivered, the steak my wife ordered was too rare and the meat was not good, my fries were cold and "stale", like they were sitting for 30-minutes, but the Cod was good. One of the grand children's chicken sandwich was so wet, from the pickle relish it actually dripped for 10-seconds, so she ate just the chicken. But, at least one of the meals was good, the grilled cheese the other grandchild ordered. read more

This is my second time in your restaurant and I hate to say it I was disappointed. The waitress Kathy was wonderful. I know you were busy but I was so looking forward to try the onion rings . But when they brought them too the table I couldn't believe they were the same thing others were having. They were very over cooked and super greasy. The breading was falling off them. Gorgeous place with the perfect view. Went on a Saturday around 5:30 and the place was packed which was to be expected. Had a drink at the outdoor bar while we waited for our table. Such a great place in a great space! excellent beer choices, my wife enjoyed the JP relaxer. I had a few tasty brews! We had the wings, which were the best wings I have had in a very long time. Our awesome server "Dawn" gave us a heads up before we ordered that the price was up on wings and coconut shrimp, which was cool! They are quite busy, but that's to be expected in such a booming place with amazing food and great drinks! We will try to come on a weekend lunch early to get a table outside and to sit in Dawns section. She was fabulous! we will definitely be back. read more
