The bad: wing quality, as a bar/grill you'd expect they'd have good wings. These were the fatty breaded wings with very little protein on them that reminds you more of rubber than meat. We had reservations for the team after their game and arrived just 15 minutes late. We even called ahead to let the restaurant know, and they assured her it was fine. When we showed up, they turned the group away anyway. That kind of behavior shows a real lack of character -- pretending everything's fine on the phone, then refusing service when you arrive. It's one thing to have policies, but another to mislead people and waste their time. We won't be back, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who values honesty or good service. read more

We enjoyed our meals. We stopped in about 2pm and it was relatively quiet which we enjoyed. Lisa, our server, was friendly and attentive. We tried the pulled pork sandwich and the ginormous fish sandwich. Both were very good. One of us thought the fries could have been cooked a little longer, the other thought they were fine as is. You can get an incredible burger for under $15, but my favorite dish on the menu was the Double B Tortellini. The sauce is incredible and the bacon to broccoli to tortellini ratio is just right. We had been looking for a bar restaurant between Harrisburg and State College and were told to try this place. We aren't that fussy and can always find something appealing on a menu. This menu says their burgers are "chuck, short rib, and brisket". No way is that true. It was a mass-produced burger that was delivered on a Sysco truck. Fries were cold. Service was terrible. "Meh" is about the best word I can use to describe this place, though I may be in the minority. I ordered a chicken dish with garlic mashed potatoes and the rather vague "vegetables" listed on the menu. The chicken came out drownging in sauce. The chicken itself was tough and had a bit of an odd flavor--I thought it might be the sauce, but even when I dug the chicken out of the puddle it still tasted a little off. The vegetables would have been ok if they hadn't been blanketed in what appeared to be Old Bay. The potatoes had good flavor, but it is my feeling that it's hard to mess up potatoes--especially if they're instant, which I believe these were. In between Harrisburg and State College this is an upscale-ish place for the locals to drink, eat, and check out whatever game is on the many flat screen, high def tvs lurking around the ceilings. In Central PA there is only one place you go to help you forget that your in Central PA. JP Edwards for locals is a staple for good food and drink and I not going to quibble with that. My first venture to JPs was a memorable one two years ago. I ordered seven or eight chocolate martinis and crawled home. But times have certainly changed and with my 10 month old daughter, we visit JPs for lunch outside and to change diapers. Note: There is no changing table in the mens bathroom so I did it outside on an empty table in world record time. We order margaritas, pulled pork sandwiches and Asian salads. We watch the NFL draft on the many television screens throughout the place and chat about Steeler football..... and when babies start sleeping through the night. Steelers are Super Bowl champs, Penn State is pretty good too and I'm changing diapers outside. Wow, times HAVE certainly changed. read more

I've been here before and haven't reviewed. It's Monday night and it's $8 wing night. Excellent wings, properly done. Tried medium and the Jack Daniel's wings. The Jack wings were kind of sweet, so back to medium for third order. Mediums were hot enough. There's a snow storm at the moment and there were still s good number of people in the restaurant. Crowd ranged from people after work to couples to a table of teenage girls and one middle aged academic reading a history of Cold War politics with wing sauced. blue cheesed fingers. Keith F: You're right, wing nite is awesome, but I wouldn't recommend the General Tso's wings, they were pretty terrible. They also have great beer specials on Mondays, so get there early, One complaint I have is that they have a ton of TV's, but none have volume or Closed Captioning. Interesting trivia note: President Obama visited JP's when campaigning against Hillary during the PA primary in 2008. For lunch, they have an unlimited salad, soup and drink special for $6.95, which is great, but be aware that certain soups or caesar salads are more expensive. I went to JP Edwards on a monday night with one other person. I ordered the most expensive steak which was $25. I ordered it medium rare. It came out completely cooked through and dry. I sent it back and it came out practically raw. It looked like they basically singed both sides. The other meal which was nachos was mediocre at best. Looking back I should have asked for a manager but after being in this restaurant for two hours I didn't want to spend another minute there. It must have been wing night because it was crowded and really loud. I will never go back and recommend others to spend there money some where else. read more
