When my car broke down and I was stuck on the side of the road, he still went beyond his mechanic duties to check on me and offered me a ride home free of charge with the help of his colleague Mr Dustin. Mr Derek does not upsell and does not give BS; he is transparent and candid about the diagnosis process, the repairs, and the quotes. He offered to run simple tests on batteries and inspections of the car for me for free. He also responds quickly to requests, questions via Yelp and phone. My alternator of the car was bad and Mr Derek gave me two options: remanufactured and OEM. He clearly explained what the pros and cons of each one and respected my decision. When I picked up my vehicle however, I noticed my rear window visor was missing. I found the visor in the grass behind the shop broken into 3 pieces. After collecting the broken pieces I asked the front desk if they knew this piece was broken. They said they were not sure and gave me my receipt. I drove my car down Central about 2 miles, and lost all power going to the vehicle. I got the car restarted in a parking lot and drove back to the Central location to let them know of this issue. The looked the vehicle over and after 20 minutes gave me the keys back and told me my car was "possessed". They actually said this. I trusted their opinion and needed to drive back to Lawrence Kansas the day after pick up. The vehicle began to lose power randomly again about 2 hours into my 3 hour trip. I got the vehicle to my destination (Lawrence), and upon starting the car the next morning, it now refuses to shift, along with the random loss of power. I spent just north of $1600 on suspension related work, and picked up a vehicle with massive engine and transmission issues. I explained to them that if any of these issues had been happening, I would have obviously prioritized this as the first repair before any of the suspension work. It was simply suggested to me to take the vehicle back in to a transmission shop to get looked at. I will be selling my vehicle at a complete loss and am truly heartbroken that the car that I have had for the last 10 years will now be sold for essentially scrap.

I got my suction pump and pumped out 2 quarts of oil to get it down to where it needed to be and noticed how filthy the oil was.They did not change the oil. and more importantI could've ruined my engine by 2 quarts high. Blown seals. I called corporate. All he could do was try to stand up for his employees. Who for some reason or another needed five quarts of oil from me. I brought my own oil and filter mobile one I guess that's the kind he runs. if I knew they needed 5 quarts of mobile one oil,I would've gladly bought it for them as opposed to them trying to ruin my car by adding 2 quarts of clean oil as to dilute, the color of the black oil did not work. Will not use Jiffy Lube or anyone else for that matter again I'll do it myself.
