This was my second time renting a golf cart from Joyride and it definitely won't be my last time. The owner and staff are always very welcoming and go over everything you need to know about your rental before you drive off. The inside of the shop is very welcoming and is filled with different things you can purchase. I loved that my family was given the opportunity to choose which golf cart we liked best for our stay down at Whitecap Beach. This was our first vacation on Padre Island, and we wanted to experience the thrill of driving a cart on the beach! NOPE!! The sand was so powdery and deep that the under-powered and governed cart couldn't go far without bogging down. We got stuck once, got some help to push, and got outta there! We found a small space near the water on the other side of the entrance, and parked/picniced there for most of our afternoon. Keep in mind, you can't really take the cart anywhere to do any shopping because the main street is off limits and the trail behind the shopping center is, too. Overall, our rental experience was very good. Online rental and reservation is easy, and makes the the pick up time much quicker. We definitely recommend Joyride ... just don't count on the beach to cooperate! read more

We drove by this cute rental business on our way to dinner. We looked them up online and couldn't resist but to rent a golf cart for 4 hours to drive around the beach. It was spontaneous and it couldn't have been a better experience! Booking the online reservation was quick and easy. We showed up the next morning and our cart was ready and waiting! We were greeted by the owner with a smile, took note of the map with a few simple instructions. The cart was clean, gassed up and ready to go. We had so much fun in the golf cart and there were no issues at all. We returned the cart and had a nice chat with the owner. I know this place specializes in golf carts, but their surfboard rental service was disappointing. When we entered the shop, none of the five people behind the counter acknowledged us. It looked like it was a whole family with a few kids, and we were just awkwardly standing there and looking at them as we waited for the man to get off the phone. We rented all of their long, beginner surfboards, which was a grand total of three cheap Wavestorm boards. My friend said she has seen those boards for $99 at Costco, while we paid $330 total for those three boards for two days, which is very unreasonable. They didn't help us strap the boards to the car and were not very welcoming. read more

Best price (24hrs) on the island and we had a blast! I love that staff were caring and made sure I was safe with the gps tracker and once I learned all the neighborhood routes I was driving all over the island. one tank gets about 200 miles and as much as I cruised I only put a few bucks to top off the tank when I gave it back. Had to haggle the price - NOT friendly. Went in the day before and was told a price - went the next day to rent and was told a different price. Also an in store item was offered for a reasonable price (it was unmarked) then was at a ridiculous level the next day. The buggy was fine. I can't complain about the service provided and the ease to book online. The golf cart was great and ran fine. The only thing I can say that's negative is that the options to travel to certain places is limited. You aren't allowed to drive behind Dollar General, ACE Hardware or get to certain stores because it requires traveling on the main Highway which is illegal. Also, the tides were up, they sent a message to not drive on the beach for a whole day because water came up to the dunes although later in the day, the water went down. No offer of extended time or anything. The main attraction to rent a cart is the beach. The prices for all the rentals in all the places is too much. I did the math and if I rented a cart for a whole year at this rate, it would cost me $54k. read more

The rental cart was amazing and had a speaker that can be hooked up via Bluetooth. The only bad thing is the $500 security deposit if you are using a debit card. They prefer a credit card for no fee. Weekends you are not able to reserve hourly it's a 24 hour reservation. We never got stuck in the sand and enjoyed driving around the beach in it. Made everything easier for my parents that are older and are not able to get around as much. read more

.... Well I did get a golf cart for 145.00 for 6 hours .... But I feel like they gave me the worst ugliest golf cart. It had no windshield so I had sand all over my face every time I drove it on the sand. I had no right mirror. I know horn to honk. And it was slow so I did not enjoy my day with the cart. read more

We planned on renting golf cart for 4 days then b4 we arrived weather changed . So we rented a small golf cart for 2 days . Realized after rented there were numerous other places to rent the same exact quality golf cart but less cost. We were 1.2 miles from condo to rental location . We weren't feeling well & my husband didn't want to have to walk 1.2 miles back to our condo so we contacted joyride rental to come pick up their golf cart mind you a 1.2 miles away it was an extra $27!!!!!!! Ehhhhhh the thought of a golf cart cruising the beach sounds nice but we ended up with a nice cart with crappy little tires and got stuck in the sand several times. Also if your in North Padre you really can't drive the cart anywhere at all cause the main rd to anywhere is a hwy.
