We had originally rented a 4 person golf cart for the week which was great. We just weren't given…read moreour paperwork by the young man helping us. We had a few people coming to stay over the weekend with us at our VRBO so when I returned the cart, I requested an 8 person cart if available. In the beginning, Jen was helpful and advised me an 8 person cart was available. I got the keys and was shown everything by another employee. Everything seemed to be ok as I drove away. As we used the cart the same day, the cart wouldn't go into gear even though we were at a complete stop like I was told by the man who showed me the cart. As the cart got into gear, when we drove it, it would constantly backfire. As we drove on the sand, the wheels never turned to get us moving in the sand. We knew on the soft sand we could get stuck but we were on hard, packed sand. We NEVER got stuck. The cart just wouldn't move. The cart continued to backfire and the alignment was so messed up we would struggle keeping it straight. We brought the cart back and merely explained our experience but Jen was not even listening to our concern. She kept saying that's what happens on soft sand but we've been only cruising on the street as the one time trying to get on the beach we couldn't with just 3 of us and no coolers. She just stopped listening to us and said she would drive the cart up the street to see what we were talking about. She came back and said the cart "drives like a dream." We asked about possibly trading for 2 four person carts they didn't have any which we figured, it was Friday. She then offered us 2 six person carts but requested we pay another $80. We just kept the janky cart and went about the rest of the weekend using it only on the street. It was cart #544.

It's crazy, you have 100 carts just sitting there and 20 other cart rental places with almost as many sitting, and you won't budge on an off season price. I don't understand why you would rather they sit and earn you zero income, versus making a deal and getting some cash money, in an off season time period. So we rented elsewhere.

The staff were nice but prices were a bit higher than other places on the island (plus required to bring back full with gas which I had read varies by the business). Additionally the golf cart we had vibrated frequently and seemed to have very hard steering as well as took a minute to get going. It did have a nice stereo bar with Bluetooth and a cooler in the last row but compared to other carts, the pricing, look/sound of the golf cart was okay but not great. They do have some really cool and unique ones that look like Cars and things so that would be a reason to go there if you had a younger kid and needed a smaller one.
