Joymode has all sorts of bundles to rent for any fun you may want to have indoors and outdoors. I rented their giant games for a few days and it was only $65! This came with: bear pong, giant Jenga, and giant Connect 4. I added cornhole toss and it was a very fair price for adding it on. They were able to deliver/pick up from my area and it was only an additional $10. They texted me and let me know when they were on their way both times. If you download their free app, you can even track where they're at to see if they are nearby. I was able to remedy an issues and inquire via live chat. Overall, a great deal and actually purchasing one of those giant games would've been more costly than $65. The game were also in great condition and each was in a carrying case for easy transport. Used this for the deep carpet cleaning and it was amazing! In the past I've used COIT or other services which are about $300. For $60, I rented this for 4 days and cleaned my carpet myself and it looks the same as a professional service. I'm trying out the margarita party for Cinco De Mayo, and I'm so excited to not have to buy a margarita machine for the like 4 days a year I actually feel like handmaking margaritas. The one con that I have is that they didn't deliver and pick up in my area. I'm hoping this will change. But to pick up/drop off from their downtown LA location isn't hard... I just hate fighting downtown LA traffic. It was pretty easy to park and put on my hazards in the alley way. The area isn't sleazy or too dangerous. All I had to do was ring the doorbell and someone helped me. I just had to wait by my car as they rolled out the cart with my rental items. I rented the Giant Games. I got the connect 4, bucket pong, and jenga... I additionally added dominoes and cornhole. The total was $75 and I rented during thanksgiving weekend so I had it for a little over 4 days! That's a pretty good deal! It was a big hit and the kids didn't want me to return the items. Excellent and friendly customer service. They send reminders and text. You can also extend for another week for $25. I'd definitely rent again but it would be so much better if they extend their delivery area. read more

So, I used to love Joymode. I still think it's a great idea...but lately I'm starting to wonder if they are beginning to suffer from the startup slide. Great idea, followed by a too-quick expansion, a loss of ability to keep up with demand and quality...which eventually leads to higher prices, fewer and fewer offerings, and finally a shutter and a sigh. Don't let it happen, Joymode! I'm an early adopter so I've been around since the beginning. I've been seeing the signs...first the business model slightly changed...you have to buy a membership. Then the model stretched again...the membership fee no longer gets you all of the offerings for free...they introduced Premium bundles...which means you still have to pay to rent the best things...even though the whole purpose of membership was to avoid rental fees! And throughout all of this change, I start to notice that the things I want to rent are frequently booked weeks in advance...a month sometimes for electronics like the Oculus Rift. Why pay for a membership if I can't ever rent the items I want? I recently got an email stating their prices were going up. Bad sign. Then I took a chance and tried to rent an Oculus Rift this weekend. Lo and behold...it was available! I already own a Quest so I was excited to see what new games the Rift had to offer. I've rented it several times from Joymode, but not in about a year. Unfortunately to my surprise...none of the new games were available to play on the Joymode Rift. It was the same old slate of games from the past years I've rented the Rift from Joymode. Old games...from 2-3 years ago and a bunch of free trial experiences. Not for the price they are charging! If you want to keep your loyal customers you're going to have to invest in the latest upgrades on your experiences. For your VR...that means new games and eventually the newer model of the Rift. It you want to charge a premium you have to provide a premium service. The equipment and the games and starting to show their wear and tear. I want to remain a customer, but I can't see renting this bundle again until you upgrade significantly. read more

Met Joymode during the Yelp Elite Event at 8th & Grand. How awesome it was that they had a Carpet Deep Cleaning Experience available! Bissell deep cleaners cost about $400, not including buying the cleaning solution, so it was great to have the opportunity to clean my home without spending a grip. The experience comes with the Bissell Big Green Deep Cleaner, the hose attachments to use on furniture, & a FULL bottle of cleaning solution. My place has about 900 square feet of carpet, & I was able to deep clean every room 2 times! I even had enough solution to deep clean the living room a third time! Membership is $99 annually, but it's definitely worth a shot because all the experiences are discounted about 80% off from what you would spend if you purchased all the items per experience. Thanks to the yelp elite event I received a code to try out joymode. I'm so glad I tried it out. I had test driven Urb-e before and they were so much fun. When I saw that i could rent them through joymode I was so excited so i rented two of them for the weekend and took them with me everywhere i went. The service was easy to use. I placed my order in the morning around 8:00 a.m. for delivery between 9-12 and about the time I had finished getting ready and eaten they were here! So at 11:00 a.m. i was off on my Urb-e scooter turning heads in every neighborhood I went. They were here on Tuesday to pick up the scooters and that was it. Easy Peasy! You don't even need to tip them- it says so on their website. Which is one less stress. Since I don't always have cash on me and when I do I always have to make change. I would definitely use this service again. Looking forward to trying them out again soon. My birthday is right around the corner! Maybe I'll have them bring something fun. :-) read more

I wanted to update my review since there have been so many changes to the service since my last review. Honestly they just keep getting better and better. If you don't have Joymode you are seriously missing out. They have tweaked the membership price and plan a few times and I feel like it's a great value, with new bundles added all the time. Customer service is always amazing, both through the app via chat, and in person when they deliver/pick up bundles. Everyone is always super professional and friendly, and whenever I have questions or issues I can send a message through chat and they reply almost instantly. Since we moved into a smaller place and got rid of a lot of things we don't use on the regular, I have been able to rent deep cleaning bundles so that I don't have to buy and store a huge vacuum or carpet cleaner. I have rented the vitamix a few times as well as some of the other kitchen items that I definitely love but don't use often enough to make it worth the sticker price. I have thrown so many parties using their bundles such as outdoor movies, fondue set, etc, to much fanfare. And I have really impressed some house guests with the baby and toddler guest bundles, so that we had everything they needed for a comfortable overnight stay, including high chair and toys. My son is always excited when he sees that I rented a video game bundle, until he realizes that it's going to be MarioKart 24/7, and that you just can't beat me no matter how hard you try because 'Ima Luigi, Number One!' read more

Joymode is hands down LA's best kept secret! When I first heard about it I thought it was a crazy idea for a company to give you access to all the stuff you really want but don't really want to own. Then I tried it and went from thinking it's crazy, to KNOWING its crazy...And I'm completely addicted!!! At first I started off with a Day at the Park package and had an awesome bbq with friends. They gave me everything I needed and more to make it a really fun event. Giant games, umbrella lounges, All my friends were asking where I got this stuff. Then I tried the Sous Vide, because I always saw it on cooking shows but who really buys that? Had a stay at home date with my wife and cooked some Carnitas that turned out to be perfect. Next I tried the Oculus Rift. They brought the computer, the headset, controllers and everything else I needed to hang out in Virtual Reality. Played all weekend until I just couldn't anymore. This stuff would have cost me like $2000! They have so much that I can't wait to try and they seem to be adding new experiences every week. Bottom line = Joymode is life changing. Joymode is a great concept. I've been a member since the early days when membership pricing was higher and the bundles were stuffed with all these great items for a well-rounded, complete experience. Ever since they dropped the membership prices, bundle quality has been dwindling. An item that would be part of a bundle will suddenly disappear and reappear in the "extras" section. For example, a month ago, the Car Wash Kit included a handheld Dyson vaccuum. What a great item that made sense to include in a car wash bundle. Now, the vacuum can be bought as an extra and is not included in the bundle...however there has been no price drop or other change to adjust. This has happened to many bundles that I have once previously enjoyed. These remodeled bundles are lacking and gives me no motivation to rent (again). If you're new to Joymode, you will probably not experience much of this. But as a "Day One" customer, I have seen all the changes Joymode has been through so far, and this one probably my only one complaint. What Joymode does do right: Customer service is top notch. Their chat is convenient and there is always a very nice person ready to answer your questions.The deliveries are wonderful and convenient, plus many different places to pick up and drop off bundles if delivery doesn't work. They constantly have new bundles to try, and some items/bundles are a great value. If I've ever run into any trouble with a bundle, they are quick to send a replacement to be delivered the next day. Joymode is definitely a gamer changer and I do recommend this service if you're looking to try some cool new gadgets and/or need to use something once that you don't want to buy or don't have room to store (like party stuff, outdoor activities, or even a carpet cleaner!). read more

I had a outdoor movie night this past summer and the package included a wide movie screen, projector, speaker, cords, popcorn machine (with popcorn kernels, oil, and bags) blankets, and chairs. Cool company! We met them at an event a block from our offices in downtown at the end of last year and totally forgot about trying them out until one of our IT guys invited us out over the weekend. We planned to order it again at least twice in the summer and try a few other experiences and then we find out it is a $99 annual membership. Seriously? Just to rent your stuff? We are so turned off by this business model. I don't pay a yearly membership to rent a car or for anything I'm only going to use a few times. I got a free membership as part of a promo (it's free for the first year when you make your first reservation), but I'll definitely be renewing because I've already gotten so much use out of Joymode. As a new mom who works from home, my free time is gold and Joymode has saved me so much time, energy, and money. The Kids Birthday Picnic was a huge hit for our son's birthday party at the park (we definitely got our money's with with the cotton candy machine) and the Essential Cleaning Kit had everything we needed (except a babysitter!) to do a major spring cleaning. The Get Organized kit was amazing and helped us scan and shred all of our files -- definitely a must if you're trying to go paper-free and you don't need your tax returns from like 2002 anymore :) I also really like how convenient it is to coordinate pick-up and drop-off, they'll text and email you reminders and it's easy to extend your reservation date for $5 or $10 extra per week. (I've definitely done that.) I couldn't fine anything so I came back to Joymode and I was still a little skeptical to order from there because the deal was JUST TOOOOO GOOD. It was 30 dollars for a karaoke machine, led dome lights, two microphones, a kindle fire 8, and the speaker system. DEALLLLSSSSS! And to top it off they gave me a 20 dollar discount for my order so i paid 10 dollars for all the above. Deals!!! Shipping was free, they bring it straight to your door and they even text you updates letting you know in how long they will be there to drop off/ pick up your order.
