We hired LBC for their white bounce house rental which was perfect for our space since we have a small backyard and just a few kids at my husband's birthday party we wanted to make sure the kids would be entertained while the adults could enjoy the party! The arrived an hour before our party start time, they didn't need any help from us, they were able to set up the bounce house and we also rented the kids size chairs for the kids tables. They were beautiful white chivari kid size chairs. At the end of our party they picked everything up and it was one less thing to worry about. I liked that the bounce house came with a shoe bucket and socks for the kids to put on when in the bounce house, they loved them! I found Brandi on Marketplace, and she sent me a picture of the setup I would get for a specific price. I tried negotiating a bit for that exact setup, and she agreed to lower the price. I'm organizing a 1st birthday party for my firstborn entirely by myself, expecting a hundred guests. I've never rented a soft play before, but from what I've seen at other moms' parties, the setup always included a fence since it's supposed to be a safe playpen for little ones. All of Brandi's menu options, including the pictures she showed me, also had fences in all of them. However, 10 days before my party, some guests arriving in 3 days and staying over, she suddenly mentioned that the setup wouldn't include any fences. At no point before agreeing and signing the contract did she mention that fences won't be included and she's now saying it wasn't specified in the contract. Not once had i thought that the fence must be itemized in the contract for it to be included. The visual offer was very clear. This was surprising since the pictures she provided and what I negotiated clearly showed fences, and we aren't looking at any other photos than what she's sent. I based my negotiation on ONE SETUP that she offered me, and nothing else. And the multiple pics for that one same setup she sent showed it. I felt absolutely mislead. What made the situation worse is that Brandi asked me to either pay more for the fences or take a refund--just 10 days before my event. I even told her that I do not want a refund. I just want her to keep the deal which according to her was a misunderstanding. I gave her the chance to resolve the issue. But she insisted that I pay more or refund. It's thrown me off. I was told the reason she was able to give me the discount is by taking away the fences. You dont take away something and call it a deal. Of course, you arent going to pay for something that won't be included, would you? Again, she absolutely never mentioned anything about taking the fences out before signing the agreement. She only mentioned this 10 days before my party. I paid her invoice same day she sent it, over a month before my event, even if it was not due days before the party. I even offered to include her business cards in our party favors to help promote her business. I entered this deal with every good intention, but this is just how Brandi responded. I was working with 6 other vendors and I have been nothing but clear with what I needed from the beginning and did not encounter any issues like this. It is extremely painful and devastating. TRUST is a huge part of any business transaction, and when someone goes back on their word like this, it makes it hard to feel confident about working with them. Professionalism is essential and changing terms after an agreement damages credibility by claiming it was just a misunderstanding but refuses to make things right. I was left extremely stressed, anxious, and scrambling to figure out an alternative or just leave it. I could've easily just paid what she's asking for but out of principle and lack of integrity, why would I? I don't know what she's gonna take away from the setup again or what other surprise charges i'd have to pay, and the last thing i want to happen is get stressed out on the day of my event. So, I decided to just accept the refund and find an alternative last minute than working with someone i already completely lost trust in. read more
